My first impression of Dr. Ditslear was that he was very open and caring. He didn't try to steer me towards any particular surgery, which I liked. He went over the risks of the surgeries and emphasized that the RNY does have more initial \"work\" and potential for complications.rnrnLori, Dr. Ditslear's PA, has been wonderful. She checked in often while I was in the hospital and also talked to me for close to 30 minutes a few days before surgery when I wasn't feeling well. rnrnThe office staff was also very friendly. Anessa, the dietician, asked me plenty of questions and encouraged me to call her if I thought of anything else later. rnrnRebecca is the medical secretary I talked to at Dr. Ditslear's office. She was very pleasant and shocked me by offering a surgery date one month away from the date that I spoke to her! So far, all of my interactions have been very positive.

Super nice guy. Love the staff at the bariatric center also. They put the patients needs first. I was so impressed to have the doctor's nurse, the physiatrist, the doctor's assistant and the doctor all come in and visit the day after surgery. It was a pleasure to see all of them. rnDr. Ditslear has a wonderful bedside manner. Makes a person feel very comfortable with him. rnThe entire staff makes sure you have adequate aftercare, from the 2 week checkup to the support group meeting which are mandatory.

My surgeon was very nice.
Pre-op
He informed me of all the risks, facts, statistics, the different surgeries, the pros and cons and answered all of my questions and listened to my concerns. He was very warm, gentle and sincere. He always looks into your eyes when speaking to you with a smile. He seemed like he had a genuine interest in helping me.
Post-op
He did a great job on my incisions. I was out of surgery an hour early. I had a hard time the day after surgery with an allergic reaction to medication of some sort and my IV line backed up and he came in and told me that it will pass that everything went great and there is no need for concern so he kept me at ease. As he said, within 24 hours I felt fine. I now feel amazing!
2 days after the surgery I had a minor question at 9pm an a Sunday and he called me back within 3 minutes. He answered my question and I felt at ease.
He was AWESOME! I would definately reccomend him as a surgeon.

My first impression of Dr. Distlear was that he is very shy. When he entered the room to speak to me alone, he was grinning from ear to ear and was very nice and gentle. He answered all of my questions and seemed liked he cared. I had already had approval from my insurance company before I even went in for my consultation so I was excited about this process. I know that I trust Dr. Distlear and that we are going to have a fun, exciting journey together. The best part about him being my surgeon is that he likes the same effect that I do after the surgery, he enjoys to see the life changes in peoples self esteem and lives.

One this that I like about Dr. Ditslear is that he is personable and really truly seems to care. I have a surgery date scheduled for December 15, 2005 and feel that Dr. Ditslear is in total control. He seems to see into your soul and really listens to what you have to say. He performed a surgery for a very good friend of mine that was around 550 lbs. Dr Ditslear was so determined to not cut open my friend and to perform the surgery laproscopically that he spent 6 hours operating on him.
I just recently started the process for the Bariatric Surgery, and I must say, I am very impressed with Dr. Ditslear. I had a major concern about the surgery because my brother had the same surgery but at another hospital and a different doctor, and he did not pull through. Dr, Ditslear sat and talked with me for a long time, and put my mind at ease. The staff in his office is very friendly, they are all great people.
