Doctor Billy came highly recommended. I first met him at his monthly orientation meeting. He's a tall nordic looking man. Younger than I thought he would be.rnrnAs he spoke I quickly realized that this man is a straight talker. He'll tell you what you need to hear not what you want to hear. rnrnI also realized that he is very competant. He know's his craft.rnrnI thought this might be my surgeon. What sealed the deal for me was when I met his staff. Nancy Kent Barber and Sara Reyes are probably two of the finest and caring people I've met. Had it not been for them, I might have shopped around some more. I knew I would be safe in Doctor Billy's hands. And I further knew that Nancy and Sara would provide excellent after care.rnrnAll three have lived up to their promise. The operation came off flawlessly with little to no pain. Nancy and Sara, as predicted, have provided solid support for me.rnrnI highly recommend Dr. Billy.

I have had a wonderful experiencee. From the beginning, Dr. Billy, his staff, his nurse Sarah, his volunteers like Nancy, and everyone has held my hand and been wonderful. They are available 24/7. After my surgery, Dr. Billy spent about 30 minutes with my wife. He visited me the next day. rnrnI was doing so well he even got me out of the hospital before the rush. I would rate Dr. Billy and his staff a resounding 10! Nothing has gone bad. I should not forget about Heather in billing. She got this through my insurance in about two weeks. She always returned my calls and even when there was a slight hitch during my admission, she handled it no problem.

Dr. Billy is an excellent doctor and I highly recommend him. Dr. Billy and Heather impressed me when they went out of their way to get approval for my surgery. Sarah R, Dennis and all the staff are wonderful.

Dr. Billy is very personable and seems to really care. In fact his whole staff is there to assist and help you throughout the process including post op. Dr. Billy and his staff took time after my surgery to explain the entire procedure and what was to be expected to my family members. I would recommend Dr. Billy to everyone. He takes the time to educate each person considering this surgery on the risks and benefits. If I had to rate him on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the highest I would rate him at 11+. Both his surgical competence and bedside manner are great!!! Of course this are my personal impressions from my own personal experience.

First impression was caring, very informed, experienced,real,and all over very well versed in his expertise. His staff was very accomodating from the start. Clear and precise. All questions my husband and myself were answered and accomplished what was necessary to go to the next step without delay.
The written information and CD was informative and after working with surgeons for many years being a retired surgical nurse, I found him a 10 all around. I am so looking forward to having this process continue with knowing I am in great hands both with the Dr. and Staff.

First impression: Very nice...True concern for health, knowledgeable, confident, thorough, patient, spends time answering your questions.. Great staff.. Honest...

My impression hasn't changed, at all.. I hear nothing but good about him. His staff is helpful and down to earth, no stuffy wuffy pants.. I haven't found anything that I DON'T like about him, well, except maybe that he is so stinking tall and I have to bend my kneck to look at him when he is standing, of course I'm short. haha.. and he is usually sitting when I see him..
Future patients should know he comes highly recommended and he has a great personality.

The after care, from what I have heard is very well managed. I'm not there yet, but have friends who are.

He is totally up front about the risks involved...

I rate him a 10 (assuming that is the hightest)
So far I have only experienced bedside manner in the office but have heard once again from friends that he is skilled.
I have nothing negative to report as I have only seen him at the seminar and for my initial consultation. I see him again next week, maybe that will change..

Dr. Billy is a no nonsense kind of guy. Don't come to him with excuses. I like that. he tells it like it is. If you are screwing up, he will tell you that. He spends more time with you after surgery than i think most drs do. He will sit in the room with you and answer all of your questions. HIS EMPHASIS IS ON YOU DOING ALL THE WORK. His goal is to teach you how to eat so you don't ever end up obese again. He is top notch in my opinion.

Dr. Billy was great! He answered all of my questions, was very clear about everything, his staff is great, and I felt well taken care of.

Dr.Billy's aftercare program is very in-depth and designed to help you succeed.
by thoroughly going over all the risks and then making you take a verbal and written test!
I would rate Dr.Billy as 12 on a scale of 1 to 10!
I would say that surgical competence is more important but a good bedside manner helps(I say this as an RN who is more concerned about the outcome.
the only negative about my experience is that Iwish he was not so busy but I guess it's good that he is able to help so many people.

I met Dr. Billy in 2002 when I went to his seminar on WLS. My husband, my best friend and I all elected to have the Bioenteric Band (Lap Band) surgery. My husband has lost most of his wt. My best friend has lost 150# and I have lost 70#. However, I had a product defect problem and the band had to be replaced in 2003. In 2004 I experienced 2 bouts of obstruction and GI Bleed. Dr. Billy has been endlessly supportive, generally understanding and completely available. He insists upon a high level of participation in his patients. He provides a great deal of patient education and a careful examination of your motives for the surgery. He is the ultimate professional. His kindness has made the impossible bearable. I respect him and trust him absolutely. When the need to remove the band presented itself and gastric bypass was needed, it was inconceivable that anyone other than Dr. Billy would do the surgery.

No man is perfect and therefore no doctor could be. Dr. Billy is completely committed to the wellness of his patients. I can't recommend him strongly enough.
