Helmuth T. Billy Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

I first met Dr. Billy 2 years ago when I went to one of his seminars. I was immediately impressed with him and knew that I wanted him to be my surgeon. At my first appointment he answered all of my questions and spent over an hour talking to me about my concerns. He has an excellent bedside manner as well as being highly skilled and knowlegable. I had gastric bypass surgery 2 months ago and have been so glad that I chose Dr. Billy. He always calls back right away when I've called with questions (even once on a weekend). He has a very extensive aftercare program that has been very helpful with post-op classes and support groups each month. The office staff is also great and his nurse Sara Reyes has been so helpful. Dr. Billy is by far the best doctor I've ever had. He and his staff really care about his patients.

Who doesn't love Dr. Billy?? Not only is he incredibly personable, but he's kind of cute!! He's awesome in getting you the information you need, and doesn't make you feel like an idiot for asking questions. And his STAFF - they are ALL awesome!!! I highly recommend Dr. Billy to anyone that needs a surgeon in so cal.

So far I am quite impressed. The hospital has not gotten approval yet from Medicare so I am waiting.

I have struggled pretty much all my adult life with being over weight. It didn't get out of hand until I was involved in a shooting at work (I'm a retired police detective). Soon thereafter I was retired, started a new business and my son fell ill for four years then passed away. In that same time, both my parents passed away. Needless to say, I was depressed and took it out on food and booze.rnrnI finally realized that I was tired of being FAT and began the process to have weight loss surgery. I went to Cedars Sanai Hospital, talked to doctors and staff. Then I met Dr. Billy. That was it. NOBODY else was going to do my surgery. This man doesn't stop at surgery. He follows you, cares about you and wants you to get well.rn

I can't say enough good about Dr. Billy and his amazing support staff, especially Nancy and Sarah. I really loved Dennis, too, though he's no longer with the office. rnDr. Billy makes sure you know all about the surgery as well as how your lifestyle has to change in order to be successful. He doesn't sugar coat things by any sense of the imagination, but does truly seem to understand where his patients are coming from and does what he can to help them get to where they want to go.

Dr. Billy is a very easy going guy. He knows alot and understands where we are coming from..... He uses real world examples. I would rate him a 10/10rn

I have to say I LOVE this doctor! I went to several seminars and spoke with many doctors and his was by far the best! He really seems to care about what he does and I love that he puts a lot of focus on the after-care to ensure that you will be successful! Plus it was nice that he got along great with my hubby!

My first impression of Dr. Billy. I have to say he really cares for all of his patients and wants you to know everything you can about the surgery. He has a great staff, they are so nice and understanding.rnDr. Billy is BIG on aftercare, he has a nutritionist on site and you meet with her (she is great by the way)rnHe really suprised me when my insurance did not approve me Heather, set up a one-on-one with Dr.Billy and my insurance and got me approved the next day!!rnrn
