Both my husband and I were very impressed with Dr. Spivak. His office staff is helpful.
Now that I am post-op, I can testify to the fact that Dr. Spivak is a skilled surgeon. Everyone in the hospital testified to this fact. He also took the time to answer all of my questions. I have had absolutely no complications.
I was very impressed with Dr. Spivak on my first visit with him. He was very caring and understanding. He took the time to answer all my questions (and I had alot of questions) with no hesitation. He explained to me and my husband about the operation and symptoms after surgery. I didn't feel rushed at all.
Dr. Spivak is very caring to his patients. He also knows his business. I would recommend him to others who are interested in this type of surgery. This surgery is not to be taken lightly. This is another example he makes sure you understand before he procedes with anytype of surgery. His office staff are caring as well and understand your needs.
I started with Dr. Beall in Tyler, Texas, but was turned down by insurance. Now have new insurance and I'm scheduled for RNY with Dr. Hadar Spivak in Houston. I went to Dr. Spivak for the purpose of having the Lapband, but he recommended the RNY for me.
I'm scheduled for June 15, 2004. I've had nothing but good experiences so far with Dr. Spivak and his office.
I thought he was a very nice man, he had a siminar to explain all the different procedures and show the pros and cons of each procedure. His office staff is really friendly and helpful. I think he is very professional but has a great bedside manner.
I believe he is very competent and extremely knowledgable in his field. I do not have anything to say about him except positive things because my experience so far has been positive. I am almost three weeks post-op.
I love Dr. Spivak. He seems to be very concerned about his patients. I have spoken to him on several occassions. I am currently waiting for surgery approval. His staff is very helpful and nice. They can be a little disorganized at times, but overall my experience has been pleasant. Dr. Spivak is very personable and seems to be extremely smart and knowledgable. He has a wonderful website that is very informative. He was very open in talking about the risks of surgery and the precautions he takes. On a scale of 1-10 I would rate him a 9. I will let you know more after my surgery.
I first attended a siminar on the Gastric Band and he is the only one in Houston that I found to do this procedure. However, my insurance will not approve The lap band, so I had to convert to the Roux-en-y. Dr. Spivac is very nice and answered all my questions. He was not offended at all by me asking his success rate, complication rate, etc. I had went to the NeWeigh center first(They were not a preferred provider) and they have a great educational booklet and a lot of helpful information. I was not given any handouts, but his siminar was very informative. He has a female FP doc working with him on Thursdays who has had the Lap Band, she was especially sweet. She spend a lot of time with me and was GREAT. Dr. Spivak was very nice. They said they have a great after care program, but I am not having surgery until June 8th. We will see.
