DR. DAKINS SEEMS TO BE VERY NICE AND A EASY GOING MAN.rnI'M A LITTLE SHY AT TIMES AND I WISH THAT HE HAD SPENT A LITTLE MORE TIME WITH ME UNTIL I WARMED UP. THE STAFF AT THE CLINIC IS VERY NICE AND VERY HELPFUL. I WAS ASKED IF I WANTED TO BE A PART OF A RESEARCH THAT IS BEING DONE ON WEIGHT LOSS SURGERY AND THE NURITIONIST WILL BE WORKING WITH ME, STARTING RIGHT AFTER SURGERY WHILE I'M STILL IN THE HOSP . SO I BELEIVE THAT WE HAVE AN EXCELLENT AFTERCARE PLAN SET UP. YES THE DOCTOR DID TALK WITH ME ABOUT THE RISK OF SURGERY AND I THINK THATS WHAT LEFT ME IN SHOCK. BUT OVERALL, FROM WHAT I'VE READ ABOUT DR. DAKINS, & FROM HOW HIGHLY HIS STAFF AND HOW HIS OTHER PATIENTS FEEL ABOUT HIM, DR DAKINS COMES VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, I'M VERY CONFIDENT THAT HE WILL DO AN EXCELLENT JOB DURING MY SURGERY.rnrnrn
I am happy with my choice of Dr. Dakin for my rny gastric bypass surgery. He and his staff are clearly very well versed in the procedure and all that accompanies it. I felt 100% confident going in to surgery in his hands. He's a smidge brisk for my liking, but hey if that's what it takes for him to get the job done then that works for me. Their office is very busy, so if you need something you should be sure to follow up. Be your own advocate and you will be very happy with Dr. Dakin and his staff.
My first impression of Dr. Dakin was that he was knowledgeable, friendly, and very down-to-earth. He had a sense of humor too which made me feel comfortable with him. I liked the fact that he was willing to listen to me and that he gave me the opportunity to ask questions...and he didn't brush me off, but he answered every last one of them. I trust Dr. Dakin, and I know that I will be in good hands for my upcoming surgery.rnWell, I'm post-op now! I had surgery on July 23, 2008 and I was right about Dr. Dakin. He is an amazing surgeon!!!!
well my doctor was very nice to me everybody says he handsome my first empression of him was good felt comfortable around him office staff was wonderful he is really strick about taking care of yourself after surgery so nothin wont complicate you he made me feel good he maitains that if i follow my diet and do wat it is i have to do i will be in the best of health
First time I saw Dr. Dakin was when I went with a friend to her post op visit. I was against WLS but once I met him and listened to him talk about it, I was leaning more towards it. I made an appointment to see him myself and he told me I was too high risk for GB but I wanted lap band anyway. He explained it was the least evasive and I would lose slower but I was ok with that, he told me everything I had to do pre op and since I was high risk for surgery, encouraged me to have a filter inserted because I have lupus anticoagulant. He explained all other risks of the surgery as well. The aftercare program was explained to me explicitly. He is a great doctor and would recommend him. His staff is great as well, I get follow up calls, my calls are returned promptly and all my questions are answered even the ones I think are silly, to them there are no silly questions. I referred him to my cousins and they are going to make an appointment with him as well. Only thing I did'nt like was he seemed to down play the lap band..I know you lose slower but th elap band can have some great results too, just slower, I have no problem with slower. Overall, though, he is a great doctor. I think he has both surgical competence and great bedside manner and that is very important and to use both hand in hand is even better.
dr dakin is very funny kind and soft spoken he scared me when i met him because he looks young and good that i asked what age did he start medical school but i dont know his secret to look good and young and deal with all those patients and treat us the way he does he has the time to answer all our questions.. by the way he removed my gallbladder by lap and i didnt have a single complication he is great , he explain all the rick of the surgery and even asked me why i didnt ask him for the RNY when they removed my gallbladder .. i love him and i will leave my life in his hand because he knows whats best for his patients... nothing bad to say about him so far
My first impression was wow he looks around my age 30 to 35 it did not bother me though,Dr. Dakin seemed very nice we did'nt talk that much he wants to see me for a second visit .rnThe office staff are very friendly they want to help you and work with you,I think they move pretty fast.rnDr.Dakin does not require weightloss before surgery at least not for me so that is awesome ,they know why we are their because the diet thing failed us so they don't push it.rnThis was my first time to New York city when I met him, when I arrived at the hospital I checked in and about 10 minutes later a nurse rushed over to the T.V. and turned the news on it was the day the plane crashed in to the apartment building carrying the NY yankee's pitcher we were only 2 blocks away from where it happened that was scary for me.rnI will never forget that day people's faces were glued to the tv not knowing what really happen and fearing the worst was this another 9/11 but thank God no one else was hurt.
