Doctor Ferzli is very self assured and straight to the point when describing surgery. The employess in the program (coordinator, nutritionists, office staff)are very caring and take the time to make sure you understand the risks and benefits of surgery. The members of the Bariatric team are awesome and I really enjoyed working with them. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give them a 10!
Dr. Ferzli performed gastric bypass surgery on my partner and she is very happy with the results. He is kind, caring and thorough in the pre-surgery testing. Karen at his office is the surgery coordinator. She is wonderful.
After care is very important and he is very detailed about the instructions he gives. Each patient gets a packet detailing what you can consume and how long after surgery you can consume it.
He also has the nutritionists that you need to see right there in the office so it makes it very convenient.
His surgical competence and beside manner are both great.
The support groups were excellent because they helped me to differentiate between each type of procedure. I also met other patients who were post op and who had great success. The workup was long, however, I discovered that I had other medical problems, though not serious, still needed attention. I am confident that the surgery will help to correct medical issues that I've been dealing with. Doctor Ferzli was very sweet and informative. Even though I've been with the program for several months, I still learn things along the way from the staff. I've lost a good amount of weight since the surgery and I feel great.
I met with Doctor Ferzli briefly the first time I was at the office and I found him to be nice. I will meet with him again when my work up is complete. I deal with the office staff on a more frequent basis and I find them to be extremely helpful with the process of completing all the necessary paperwork. They are knowledgeable about the entire process and give me descriptions about each aspect of the work up so I know what to expect. Aftercare is stressed. I have been very pleased with this program and would recommend this office and program to others.
I thought Doctor Ferzli to be a nice guy when I first met him. He was down to earth and gave me a lot of information about the different procedures. Karen, the coordinator, was excellent and very informative. She was really amazing because she helped me with all the clearances that had to be done. The process was very long and somewhat annoying but she made it pleasant. I found Laura, the nutritionist to be very helpful during the nutrition education as well.
My first impression of Doctor Ferzli was that he was very personable and made me feel comfortable. I'm a nurse and feel that this trait is very important when dealing with patients, espeically when deciding on surgery. I felt the program was structured; Doctor Ferzli took the time to sit with me and explain every aspect of the bypass procedure and answered all of my questions. I didn't like I was a number.
My first impression of Dr. Ferzli was that he was truly concerned for my well being and wanted to make sure that I understood everything about the procedure. Karen, the nurse, is very professional and organized. I had no questions throughout the procedure because she outlines all there was to do. Everyone in the group makes sure that each patient is well informed and prepared for surgery. You can't find a better group of people to help you through this process.
My first impression of Dr. Ferzli was that he was a confident experienced surgeon. My impression remains the same over time with the further knowledge that he is exceptionally well repected by his peers, community, and staff inclusive of independant hospital nurses and staff. His office staff is an experienced shop with perhaps sheer volume effecting better follow-up.Communication gaps between office, hopspital, insurance is overcome by remembering that you are your own best advocate for organizing the process.
There is no 'least' dislike. Dr. Ferzli balances a a busy office and schedule extremely well. What other patients should know is that he's a confident pro first and foremost. He says what he means and he means what he says.
The office has a built-in aftercare program. The risk of surgery is adressed verbally and in writing, no holds barred.
Overall I would rate Dr. Ferzli as the top of his field, and his peers seem to agree.
Bedside manner without surgical competence is useless.
