My first impression was that he was very well spoken and put togetherman. My surgeon was very knowledgeable and offered great advice. I loved the office. I would want to let other patients know that you may be in the hospital longer than expected and that it hurts. The program does offer aftercare but there should be more post op psychological support in the hospital, this is a huge mental change and as ready as you think you are nothing will prepare you for the gas pain and the mental stress of not eating or drinking for several days. I would rate my surgeon a 10+++. I feel that the program is great, the doctors staff treat you so good and never judge you because of your weight. I feel this is a great program it has given me hope at a new life,When I didn't think anything else would. I feel there needs to be more post op support in the hospital. You are extremely emotional from the changes that just happened to your body and you may need to identify with others in the hospital who are going through the same thing. The post op gas is a killer.

I thought Dr. Ferzli was very efficient and Dr. Ferzli and his staff are wonderful caring people who do their best to take care of their patients and give us the best chance of a normal life. I am very grateful to him for giving me back my life. God bless him and his staff.

Dr. Ferzli's work has changed my life. I have just had my one year anniversary since having gastric bypass surgery. I have lost 156 pounds and am still making progress toward my goal. He and his team have been supportive and professional from the beginning. The initial process was daunting; there were many doctor visits and a good deal of followup telephoning to be done to fulfill all the requirements, but I view this as thoroughness and caution. Once all of the testing and checkups were done, it was a simple process to get to the actual surgery.

The staff at Lutheran Medical Center was phenomenal. Everyone who came into my room showed an interest in my well being. I have never had a hospital experience that comes close to this level of care.

Since my surgery, I have researched Dr. Ferzli's history and accomplishments further. I encourage anyone considering surgery to do the same. It is comforting to know that he is training the next generation of surgeons. They are in good hands.

My first impression of Dr. Ferzli was that he was extremely knowledgeable about all bariatric procedures. He was professional, yet at the same time, put you at ease. My opinion has not waivered in the time I have known him.

Dr. Ferzli's office staff is terrific. Karen, my bariatric consultant, walked me through all of the different procedures. Lisa, the nutritionist, went over the dietary program, both pre and post op. In addition, the rest of the staff were great. Debbie and Karen become like family!

Aftercare is stressed by Dr. Ferzli. I had the LapBand procedure and was told that I need monthly follow-up care for the first three months from my surgeon, my primary care physician and the nutritionist.

I would highly recommend Dr. Ferzli to family and friends who are interested in weight loss surgery!!

My whole experience with Dr. Ferzli and staff was excellent. They really care and want it to work. In 2 months I've lost 60 pounds and never have felt better. It really saved my life. No more meds,B/P is normal. From Hospital stay to office visits the after care is second to none. Dr. Ferzli and staff are the best and I would tell anyone with a weight issue to make an appointment. Your life will be better for it.

My first impression of Dr. Ferzli was serious, professional, realistic surgeon. I liked that he was very upfront and let me know the risks and benefits of RNY surgery. The program is very thorough and informative. Friendly professional atmosphere. Program stresses aftercare. Enforces and encourages nutritional follow ups and bloodwork. Risks were made very clear. I would rate the surgeon and program as excellent.

Dr. Ferzli's staff has been wonderful. Visiting the office is stree-free and comforting. Even though he keeps things very brief in consultations, you still feel assured and comforted. The staff that supports him at the hospital was great too, Very thorough, and professional. All pre/post op instructions for care are clearly laid out, and easy to follow. I am pleased with the experience I have had so far, and am happy that I chose Dr. Ferzli as my surgeon. I would, and already have, recommended him to others.

Nice, no nonsense type of surgeon. Lays it on the line, let's you know that regarless of your starting weight, if you go one pound over, he will not do the operation. Very bariatric friendly office. Named a top surgeon in New York for at least the past 10 years that I could count. Also patented some of the instruments used in bariatric surgery today. I feel like I am in the best possible hands for a successful surgery/outcome. Would recommend to all.
He is quiet but seriously realistic- not about morbidity but rather the procedures involved. Very structured aftercare, with 8 nutritional consults for 1 year, and support groups.

I had Lap Band surgery on August 18,2010 with the greatest surgeon Dr. George Ferzli and his greatest crew!! Dr. Ferzli is the most patient, understanding and loving human being. He takes his time and explains all the risks and benefits of the surgery and answered all of my questions. He came to see me after the surgery and reassured me that I was fine which made me feel good. The program coordinator Karen Sander RN helped me from day one to the end. She was very supportive knew me by name and made me feel important. She also went over all the risks and benefits for bariatric surgery. She also emphasized the importance of aftercare. If it wasn't for her constant help and reassurance I probably would not of had the surgery!!! Thank you Karen!!I am now finding out that the aftercare program is wonderful. The nutritionist Lisa Lobel was wonderful and very knowledgeable. She gave me a detailed diet to follow along with the vitamins I must take, she also stressed the importance of the aftercare program. Dr. Mahoney and Lisa are awesome at the support groups!!! Dr. Vulpe is very caring and patient. He wants to get the greatest out of the surgery!!! I would recommend this program to everyone that needs bariatric surgery.I would rate Dr. Ferzli and Dr. Vulpe SUPER EXCELLENT!!! And the program SUPER EXCELLENT!!! Thank you very much your lovely patient, Hani Ayad

My first impression of my surgeon was that he was very knowledgeable and caring. I like that he is there to talk to you about the pros and cons to help a patient make the right decision. He is not a surgeon who just wants to do surgery on people if they don't really need it or if they don't fully understand the procedure. I would recommend other patients to come to Doctor Ferzli. My Mom also had a procedure by him (not Bariatric) and I really trust him. Now that I am going to him, I know that he is the right surgeon and that the program benefits patients. On more than one occasion, whether it was with the doctor, nurse or at support groups, the risks and benefits of surgery were reviewed. This program overall, is a very good one to pick because they make sure the patient knows about the entire process.
