Dr. Otero, well wht can I say about this Dr. great, I recieved more info from him in the short time I have spoke to him regarding this up coming surgery, then I have when I was going to UCSF.rn The staff is also great Anne Timberlake is the best, she has helped me with getting prepared for this, helping out with my paperwork..
Dr. Otero and his staff are very approachable people. They didn't judge me. I just cannot say enough great things about Dr. Otero and his staff. My whole entire experience with him has been wonderful. He and his staff are \"feel good\" type people. Each time I see them, they give me hugs, praise, and high fives. I just love their caring and compassionate personalities. They have a great stuctured program with everything a person would need for before and aftercare. His surgical competence and bedside manner is awesome. In a scale from 1-10 with 10 being the best, I would give Dr. Otero and his staff a million. I was in great hands with Dr. Otero, Anne, Shirley, and the medical center. I just simply love them.
This guy is 1st rate! Great skills, great personality, great communicator. I would advise anyone who can to use him.
My first impression was that he was very professional and analytical. He assessed my situation and gave me a thorough review of my options. He has a warm and wonderful smile and is confident in his approach. I liked his faith in me. His office staff is wonderful. Anne is knowledgeable and compassionate, Shirley is a WLS success with personal experience. He stresses aftercare and personal responsibility (but he gives you the tools). He carefully outlined the risks, he was direct an complete but not scary. He requires a letter from you in your own words describing your understanding of your risks, rewards, and responsibility. I like that. His surgical skill is excellent and he has a marvelous track record and a great reputation among other doctors. Can't say I saw much of him bedside, I was out the next day! No complaints but I wish he had checked on me in the hospital. He was in surgery all day. He did come by but I don't remember.
Dr. Otero is the Best!!!!!! I can't thank him enough for saving my life and allowing me to LIVE again!!!!! I would do this again in a heartbeat...Thank you, Doc...Thank you Anne, Shirley, and Karole- Staff at JMMD Weight Loss Surgery Center. This staff is absolutely amazing....There is so much love and support from this group..It is no surprise why the patients have such great success!!!!!

Dr. Otero was very warm and friendly from the start. After the surgury I had some complications and he was there right away to fix it. He is a skilled surgeon and feel lucky that God put me in his hands. I knew I was in safe hands with him, never once doubted his ability.
His assistant Vicki is the best so friendly and caring she always made me feel at ease. Ann and Shirley are always there for you and never make you feel like you are being a bother.
I had my first meeting with Dr. Otero yesterday. He seemed pleasant and very knowlegeable. His hands did not shake and that is a very good thing! ;)
I just adore Anne Timberlake and Shirley Witt- the nurse manager and her assistant. They are so on the ball- I never feel like I am "just a number". They are both very efficient and caring ladies. I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to put my life into their hands.
After surgery: I am thrilled with Dr. Ortero's expertise and skill performing this surgery. He has made it possible to get my life back. The whole crew at Mt. Diablo is FABULOUS!!!
My first impression of Dr. Otero was that he was a really nice man, well dressed and articulate. He walked up and gave me a big hug! My impression of him was proven true, every visit was very warm and comfortable. He is easy to talk to and explains everything in great detail. The office staff was super friendly and went out of their way to help with anything I needed. There was NOTHING I didnt like about Dr. Otero and the staff at Mt.Diablo Weight Loss Clinic. Anyone considering using Dr. Otero would be making the best choice they could. Dr.Otero empasizes aftercare and helps you to do your best. They recommend going to each group meeting to help you get through the rough spots emotionally. The risks of the surgery were discussed at length on several occasions and they were made very clear. Overall I would say that Dr.Otero is the BEST and so is the staff. I would go back and have this surgery 100 more times!!
