I absolutely adore Dr. Cussatti and completely trust him. He has an extremely down-to-earth presence and has the nicest demeanor. He takes the time to listen to you and see what has been going on in your life before he goes on with your examination. Once you get to know him, you see him as a nice guy that cares about you as an individual, not a number. It's quality first with Dr. Cussatti. I first met Dr. Cussatti at an introductory seminar at his office in W. Islip. I was extremely impressed with his articulation, yet he had a sense of warmth that makes him very approachable. Asking questions is never a problem. He goes into depth and does not rush you out of the room. I really appreciate that. When we sat down for our initial consultation, I knew I made the right choice when exiting the office. I felt completely confident that I selected a wonderful surgeon. Now that I'm almost 3 months post-op, I can say that with no doubts. His office staff is fairly polite and informative, and if they cannot answer your questions, they will patch you in with him or have him call you back. There may be one or two staff members that should recheck their attitudes at the door occasionally, but for the most part I'd say they are professional. I really like his aftercare policy. I believe that he is concerned with my individual progress. I feel very taken care of when I walk through the door each month for my check up, and always feel that we're on the same page. I guess maybe because he's a younger doctor, I can feel like I'm on the same wavelength because I'm also young and have more of an open thinking process than a lot of others, but I think I just got really lucky when picking my surgeon because I had extremely high expectations before I saw any other surgeon and Dr. Cussatti was the first surgeon I had actually met with. I think that is a good thing. He surpassed what I thought would be a good surgeon. I don't believe in rating people on a scale of sorts, but he would definitely be much higher than a ten.
I liked Dr. Cussati immediately. I went to him originally for possible gallbladder removal and at that time questioned him about Bariatric surgery. He took the time to answer my questions. I went to his seminar and found it very informative.
I had Lap RNY on November 19th. Dr. Cussati was wonderful. I had a difficult time emotionally immediately after surgery and he helped me through it. His office staff have been very nice and supportive.
I first met Dr. Cussatti at the group consultation meeting in 6/04. At that time, I thought that he was very thorough and really knew what he was talking about. When I met him for the second time in 7/04 for my one on one visit, I found him to be very friendly and I felt that he genuinely cares whether you are successfull or not. His aftercare consists of seeing him once a month for one year. He also addressed the risks of surgery, and being that I have a clotting condition, he also adressed the additional risks I would be facing. I was a little concerned about him not being very experienced with lapband surgery - but I have to say, now that I am post-op I am so glad that I decided to go with Dr. Cussatti. He was excellent and I know that I made the right choice. He was very competant and he had a great bedside manner. I would rate Dr. Cussatti higher than a 10 and I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for a surgeon!!
I had an appointment with Dr. Cussatti in June to discuss the possibility of surgery. I found him to be very informative and professional. I would have liked him to have more experience, but I was comfortable with him and he was highly recomendated by my PCP.I went to his group meeting in his office, I was the only guy there, and decided to go forward with the process. I hope to have surgery in late september. He was very clear in his aftercare program, a visit every month to his office to check on progress and lend support. So far, so good...
