Dr. Chute was great. Very calm but informative. It was a little difficult getting through to speak with someone in the office prior to their submitting the info to the ins. co. I was trying to check to see if I had all my ducks in a row and I was called but not until after papers were done whcih was fine but frustrating becuase I hadn't known where they were at in the process. I know things take time and if they sat and called each patient they would get nothing done. It's the curiousity I guess. The office seemed very organized and Susie, the scheduling person was awesome. She had all the information I had asked for and then some. I would definately consider him if you are out there looking for a surgeon. He is very clear that aftercare is very important and especially with the lap band since you will have to find the right "spot" for yourself through adjustments. It also shows he cares. The risks of surgery were stated very clearly and all of my questions were answered even though I didnt have many becuase I have been researching for so long. I feel confident that he will do his best.

My first impression of Dr. Chute was that he is very professional and gets down to business. We sat down at the consultation and he went over everything that I pretty much knew. He laughed a few times when I finished his sentances. He told me that he would like me to lose some weight before the sugery to make it easier for him to work. Overall I feel confident having him as my surgeon.

My first impresson of Dr. Chute was that he was serious, quiet, and reserved. But over time, in the 5 months leading up to and the three months or so after my surgery, I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Chute. He's on top of things, very considerate, and compassionate. When I was diagnosed with c.diff 2 days after discharge, he was there, in the ER, making sure that I got the right tests, and after I was admitted, he checked in on me 4 different times. He is a wonderfully good surgeon, and very considerate. Although he tends to be on the quiet and reserved side, and doesn't show his emotions very easily, I know he is always going to be there for me, and always has my best interest at heart.

His office staff is, in a word, busy. Krista in surgery scheduling is wonderful, very responsive to calls, as is Suzi. Dr. Chute's nurse Heidi is a very busy person. It takes her time to respond to voicemails, even if they're serious to the person. I called and left a message before and have had to call back and get her on the phone directly before she'd talk to me. I think she's generally just overwhelmed, because she appears to be very compassionate and considerate. At my 3 week follow up she was wonderful, and obviously very busy. She knows her stuff!! Well worth the wait!

I don't know if I like this "least" abou Dr. Chute, but he's very reserved. He doesn't wear his heart on his sleeve, he doesn't get overly emotional. He's very quiet and introverted. But, I think that can be a very good thing.

Dr. Chute strongly emphasizes after care, and also encourages his patients to attend Renewal, the support group his office runs. They do have a structured aftercare program, with set guidelines for "well pouch" checkups, so to speak. I have a structured post-op diet and vitamin regimin to stick with.

Dr. Chute was very honest about the risks of surgery - this surgery is MAJOR surgery, even if it can be performed laproscopically. I knew going in that there could be problems, and he told me not to hesitate to call if I had any problems - and I didn't hesitate with my c.diff issue. He was right on top of it.

As a surgeon and physician I'd rate Dr. Chute as a 9.99999/10 (don't want him to get a complex, after all! tee hee!)! I would rather have a doctor with complete surgical competence over a cheery bedside manner ANYDAY. I trust Dr. Chute with my life, and I'd do the surgery again in a heartbeat if HE performed it.

my first impression of DR. Chute was very professional and understanding, and very caring.

The office staff was friendly and considerate.

Aftercare is very important to the Dr.

He was very upfront about the risks of surgery and post-operatively.

It seems his bedside manner is wonderful...I believe his skill is great but we will find out for sure on the 16th...

I was really impressed with Dr. Chute, he sends off the impression that he actually cares about his patients. He answered all of my questions no matter how big or small and always eplained things to me in laymans terms.(I dont know about you but I am not a doctor and appreciated him explaining things so that I completely understood him.) Both him and his staff are very firndly and willing to help in any way that they could.
Dr. Chute went over the risks that go along with any surgery and perticularily with this sugery (even though I had researched this like most of you have). I feel that I can trust him and that he is not doing this just for the money. I have to have it done with the open inciision because of scar tissue but i am ok with that because I trust my doctor. I feel like he knows what he is doing very well and his bedside manner is excellent.

I met with my surgeon, Dr. Chute today (July 7) and I was very impressed. He had a good bed side manner and wanted to make sure I was well-informed and had all my questions answered.

All of the office staff was very nice.

My husband and I met Dr. Chute at our scheduled meeting in his office in Mpls. Dr. Chute was very calm and patient with our many questions. He was very thoughtful, and from the start I knew he would be caring and good! He visited me before surgery on the day of surgery, and then 1 or 2 times in my room after. I have not seen him since! However I would really like to! I feel confident with the rest of the office staff, but I really would like to be able to see "my Dr." one more time!! I feel aftercare... was stressed.... but my diet and what to eat wasn't!!! But... I have had no problems since the surgery.... and for that I give Dr. Chute and his staff the credit!!! I am allergic to whey... and the two times Dr Chute was in my room.... he looked at my meal tray... and found Chicken broth on my tray... that, you guessed it had whey in it!!!! He left on a vacation, so Dr Drew released me from the hospital, and he is very good also.

Since I have had no problems, I am very grateful to Dr. Chute, Dr. Drew, and the surgical team, and the nurses that took care of me before, during, and after the surgery!! I am also very grateful to my husband Bill for his constant support... and for his constant devotion to me... fixing my food, and supporting me in my new "life decision!"

I thought he seemed very nice
I have at this time only met with Dr. Chute once
the office staff was very friendly and welcoming.
He said to me "thank you for coming" three times. He seems very soft spoken.
He came recommmended
This is not a quick fix it is a long term commitment
yes
The risks were addressed at a required seminar
I would rate Dr. Chute a 7 out of 10..At this time I haven't had a good chance to really get to know him.
Surgical confidnce is of course very important but, if he can not make me feel comfortable then what is the point of dealing with any doctor.
