Dominick Artuso Bariatric Surgeon M.D.,F.A.C.S.

In 2013 Dr. Arturo performed a lap band surgery but had to be aborted because he found a problem with my liver. He told me immediately after the aborted surgery. He also recommended for me to have this problem looked after and corrected. Then he would see me again for a different type of surgery. He called it Bariatric Sleeve surgery. He said that it was better for me than the lap band. He recommended I try it when I was ready.
In November 2014, I had the Bariatric Sleeve surgery done. Dr. Arturo was an angel. Him and his staff were knowledgeable of their duties through my whole procedure. Their patience with me and my wife were greatly welcomed. So far I have lost 50lbs. Everyone that sees me now tells me they can see the weight loss and I owe it all to Dr. Artuso and his staff for a job well done.

I agree with all the rest of the reviews. I had surgery in 1999 with Dr. Artuso. He was absolutely wonderful at the hospital, and post-op follow ups. Why I give him the lowest score possible is that at Westchester Medical Center he accepted my medicaid, but when he moved to Dobbs Ferry, he refused to continue my treatment unless I self-paid which there was no way I could. I wasn't expecting it because he was just wonderful. It's taken a long to get over this. I only wish since he was my surgeon he would have seen me pro bono for the short visit time that it would have cost him. He also told me I could eat ice cream which is a trigger for me along with saying that I wouldn't have to diet again. I would be surprised if he said the same things today because more knowledge is known today than at that time. I initially lost 100 pounds while I was able to see him, but have gained weight continually since. I'm alright now. Back to Dr. Cerebona's practice at Westchester Medical Center and losing weight successfully again. Everything else about him is great like everyone else has said. This is my personal experience within the conditions I confronted. I would hope that I am the only one that has this experience; yours will be just great I'm sure. Dr. Artuso is a warm, compassionate and extraordinary medical professional that surpassed all expectations for me and my family. His staff is deserving of the same accolades with the exception of one individual, Ms. Brenda Lee. The details of the numerous condescending and incompetent encounters observed w/ other patients & experienced myself with this individual, are not worth further explanation- neither is she worth being a part of this exceptional office.

Dr Artuso did my Gastric SLeeve on November 17th 2011 my life has changed dramatically he was unreal he was there 3 times a day so kind sensitive listen bedside manner awesome. I am living again he saved my life !!

Dr. Artuso is kind and gentle and very very thorough. His office is amazing and his staff is very professional. I had all my questions answered, never felt rushed and feel as if they are invested in my success.

I was very appy to find a doctor who cared about explaning the whole procedure to you. On the day of my surgery he was very helpful and took very good care of me. His bed side manner is very good. His office staff is very helpful. I would rate Dr. Artuso as a 10 for overall patient care and concern.

My first visit with Dr, Artuso went very well. He was knowledgeable and informative and helped me choose the most beneficial surgery for me. I am excited to be working with him towards my goal of optimal health and can't wait to get started. Oh! His staff at the Poughkeepsie and Dobbs Ferry office was both helpful and professional.

I first met Dr. Artuso about a year ago. He had done my cousin's bypass 6 years ago and she told me how wonderful he is. When I met him I knew he was the doctor for me. As I started the process for insurance approval his staff was right there for me. Explaining and helping every step of the way. I have nothing but good things to say about his staff, they're the best! After surgery I had a small anesthesia complication but Dr. Artuso was all over it. He came to see me everyday to make sure I was okay. He has a great bedside manner and you can tell he truly cares for his patients. He ended up keeping me in the hospital for an extra day and sending me home on Easter. Dr. Artuso came in early Easter morning to make sure I was released so I could be home with my 2 little boys and the rest of my family for Easter. I highly recommend Dr. Artuso not only for his surgical skills but for his caring bedside manner and for truly being there for his patients. Thank you Dr. Artuso for everything you have done for me!

Meeting with Dr. Artuso was very informative. I knew going in to the appointment that I wanted to pursue the Lap-Band. He explained everything to me in easy to understand language. The staff has been very helpful when I call they answer my questions quickly. Aftercare is a key component of the process.

I've only met with Dr. Artuso once. Nice man, answered all of my questions. Surgery is set for 10/23/2007. Will provide more details after surgery. Well I'm 3 days post -op and feeling good. Dr. Artuso was fantasic!! I saw him last week at a health fair, he answered questions for me and my wife. My surgery was a difficult one .. took 3 hrs because of scar tissue from a previous surgery. He was at my bedside when I came through .. he found my wife and went over everything with her! Two days later I got a call from his staff, they were checking in to see how I was doing. I told them I felt he pain pills were a little big .. He was in surgery .. couple hours later phone rings .. Dr. Artuso!! I would highly recommend him. Great bedside manner and gets back to his patients!! I'm now 1 month out .. Dr. Artuso has been great, in fact .. I've recommended him to my daughter!!
