Very nice, he took lots of time with me during my appt
No
Office nice-clean
No Complaints
The program at OSU is wonderful, Doc did not have to explain to me a whole lot
So many other people involved(nurses,etc)
They deal with the aftercare
Yes, lots of nurses on his team
Like any surgery, complications can happen
but re-assured me of his sucessful surgeries
1-10 Definitely a 10
Both should be there, but surgical competence is positively the most important
I have not had the surgery yet. But, He was wonderfull to sit down and talk too. Took time explaining everything, pros and cons of the surgery. Was understanding. The office staff was great and his nurse took her time too. I look forward to having my surgery with him.
It is nine months from my surgery and I have to say I am more than pleased with Dr. Mikami. He has been a pleasure to work with. Both with him and his staff. I have lost over 100 lbs. and the the few problems I have had have not been due to him. He is very professional and I have to say that he and his office staff are always readily available for any problems or help you might need.
My scars are minimal and my weight loss great so far. He is an excellent surgeon and I would recommend him to anyone!!!!!
I was extremely impressed with Dr. Mikami and his office staff. I've always felt embarassed when I go to a physician's office because of my weight. I actually didn't think about it once while at this office. They are all very respectful and very customer service oriented. Dr. Mikami took plenty of time to explain the pros and cons of the surgery, drew pictures, and allowed me to ask as many questions as possible. The OSU program is very structured and I've received a lot of education about after surgery diet and recovery. Dr. Mikami made me feel very relaxed around him and even cracked some jokes. I laugh a lot so I loved that he jokes. I would certainly recommend him.
I met with Dr. Mikami May 16th 2005 and he was great. First a student Physican Assistant came in and did my vitals and took my reflexes, asked bunches of questions, etc. Dr. Mikami came in and took the time to answer all me and my hubbys questions. He drew pics and went over my PE history and descided I will have a Greenfield Filter put in the day before surgery to help guard against anymore PE's.....Pulmunary Embolisms.....BLood Clots in the lungs!! He really eased my mind about my decision to have this surgery and made me realize this is the only way to go for me in order to have a long productive life. I had my blood work drawn in his office after I seen him and that was it!! He does take the time with you that you need and you WON'T feel rushed at all!! I would rate him overall a 9........thats only because the only one in my book that is a 10 is my hubby Russ!! LOL!
Dr. Mikami is very friendly he did not make me feel bad for being so overweight. He treated me with respect. He also has a great bedside manner and a sense of humor, which is important to me.
The Staff was very friendly. Made me feel welcome to be there. f you are scheduled to see Dr. Mikami you will find him very knowledgeable. He explained the good things and the risks of the surgery.
After care he stressed was very important. He said he would not release me if I could not take care of myself. He advised how many times I would be seeing him after the surgery.
I would rate him a 10 out of 10.
Surgical and bedside manner.. he gets a thumbs up from me.
Dr. Mikami is a wonderful man. My husband and I met him on 3/7/05 and we are both blown away by how much time he spent with us going over everything. He drew pictures of the surgery and answered every question we had.He explained the risks and benifits extremely well. The staff is very nice. Dutchess is the lady's name that took some lab's and she was awesome!! She had very relaxing music and a very comfortable chair in her room. I am looking forward to my surgery on March 29th. I have no worries about my surgeon.
Dr. Mikami was very thorough in his initial meeting with me. He provided visual (drawing) as well as verbal explanations for the process. His nurse was very upbeat and involved with the whole process. She was in the initial meeting also. He visited several times while I was in the hospital. He's quite observant, patient with questions, and, the icing on the cake, is quite handsome, too! I was told by a nutritionist that his staff (nursing & surgical) really like working with him and respect him. That he treats all the staff as equals to himself. A true team environment.
Dr. Mikami and his staff are just wonderful. They are the most kind and sincere group of people you would ever want on your side. Dr. Mikami answered all of my questions from start to finish. He told me all of the benefits and risk of the surgery. After surgery, I never had to ask to see my doctor. He and his staff came to check on me daily. They kept me informed on my medical progress. They had a dietician come to spend time with me to make sure I knew what I needed to do when I left the hospital. They gave me all of my after surgery care instructions in writing. I felt prepared to go home and take care of myself. When I was ready to go home, I went home informed and very happy.
