First consult was very informative, He lets you know all the risks involved, He is also very \"to-the-point\", and professional. I am quite happy that he will be my surgeon. I have also talked with Albert about what was needed in my psych eval. letter. He always got back to me very timely. I went on MyChart the other day to update my new meds, new PC Dr, and new diagnosis. I did this by email sending Dr. Provast office my info. Lois got back to me in about an hour. Which I thought has extremely great time. Technology is wonderful, I advice any ppl going through UTsouthwestern to use their My Chart. It probally helps out the Dr.s and nurses also so they have record. Right now I would recommend Dr.provost and his staff to anyone considering WLS I think they are all great. Waiting for surgery date will post more then.

Dr. Provost and Staff were great. Every step of the initial visit was well laid out. I met with Dr. Provost, the nutritionist, the finance person and the nurse. My process started September 9 and surgery has been schedules for November 8. I was told what the office would need as far as Medical records/letters from my Cardiologist.

I was very impressed with my first visit with Dr. David Provost. He sat with me and my husband and very patiently answered any questions we had at that time. He was great the day of the sugery and at the post-op visit. I am very happy to have found him. His Fellow Dr. Chris Bell was wonderful as well. I have had more dealings with Dr. Bell and don't mind at all. He was a little more personal in his conversations with me and my family. I am very impressed with the "workings" over ther at UTSW. They addressed all my concerns and let me know of all the risks. I would rate both Provost and Bell a big FAT 10!

Dr. Provost is very nice and so is his fellow, Dr. Bell. I filled out the big initial packet and sent it in and was called back about 3 weeks later and Lois gave me an initial appointment - it was set for about 2 months later. When I went in for my very first appointment, Dr. Provost talked to me for about 15 minutes and agreed to do the surgery. I couldn't believe it was that easy! That was on November 15th, 2005 and I had the surgery on December 22nd, 2005. I was self-pay, so I'm sure that helped speed up the process. I had my surgery at Parkland and it was a great experience. The nurses were wonderful and very attentive. I had an excellent anesthiologist who is actually published in the area of bariatric anesthiology. Everyone I talk to says that Dr. Provost is the best and I agree! The only annoying thing was that Lois is almost impossible to get a hold of - I probably left 8 messages for her in the month before my surgery, and never got 1 call back. But other than that, I've been pleased with all my patient care.

My first impression of Dr. Provost is that he's not got much of a bedside manner, as many have commented. However, I was not looking for a buddy or a friend, I was looking for excellent surgical skills, which I found. Through my surgery and now two fills, I have found that his bedside manner improves over time. He's also been very complementary regarding my success thus far. Dr. Provost is a big proponent of aftercare. He quizzed me about eating habits and exercise like a drill sergeant. I felt that Dr. Provost adequately addressed the risks of the surgery. I came armed with my list of questions and concerns and he addressed most of them before I had to ask a single thing. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with Dr. Provost and his staff. They are, as some have mentioned, somewhat overwhelmed and harried, but it's not an issue to me since I'm not looking for a hand-holding from my physicians. Without question, surgical competence is more important to me than bedside manner. I believe that it's fairly common for doctors and surgeons in particular to seem a little abrupt. That doesn't bother me, since I work the same way.

Was very proffesional. But as the consalt went on. He loosened up and be came more non-doctor. Got him to laugh and smile.
The staff was very informative and fun. All of them seem to realy enjoy what they do. The one thing everyone sould know is that Dr Provost will walk in very doctor like and straight forward. He is not affaid to tell you that your wrong and you might want to listen to what he is saying. I was some what cocky with him and in spite of that he took the time to make me truely understand what my body will be going thru. Great guy.

Dr. David Provost
My first impression is one of a young, caring, intellegent and informative man. His bedside manner was direct. He told me all about it and answered all my questions.
5/01/00 Dr. Provost was very supportive and professional. The surgery went without any complications and I have had to call him twice after hours. His responce is immediate. I think he is wonderful. :)

Dr. Harry Meyers
I went to him regarding a revision of my stoma and the scar tissue. He was wonderful.

My first impression of Dr. Provost was he was kind of distant but very professional, he answered my questions, which were more on what his personal opinion of how his patients fared after surgery and what their success rate was. I had already done so much research on the subject about the surgery and what it was, and what the risks were, during and after, so I really had no questions there. He was very willing to answer everything I asked...and I felt like he was being totally honest with me. When you go for your initial consultation you meet with him first, then the nutritionist, the guy who gets you approved with your insurance, then the nurse. It all was wonderfully informative, and made me feel as though I new what to expect after surgery, at least to the extent that you can before actually experiencing it. There is an information meeting you can go to but I went to one here in Tyler and it was very good. He is very very emphatic about after care..he says the most successful patients are the ones who do followup aftercare like they are supposed to. Overall I would say that both he and his staff did an excellent job and on a scale of 1 - 10 I would rate the visit a 10. I think that surgical competence is number one on my priority list, with bedside manner taking a second to it. I feel like I have both.

I have met Dr. Provost on more then one occassion now, and he is a very nice man. He is well educated in his field and eager to impart his knowledge to you. He wants you, the patient, to be completely informed of the decision you are about to make and assured in the decision you are making. He stress the procedure is a tool. It will be as effective or ineffective as you allow it to be. How fantastic that he states early on the responsiblity lies within you! :)

As I have not had my procedure yet, I can't comment on bedside manner, but I'm sure he'll be just as attentive in the hospital as he's been in his clinic.
