I liked Dr. Provost a lot. I didn't want to go to him initially. I live in South, so I wanted to use a Dr. at Baylor Irving for convenience, but Matine sent me to Dr. Provost, an hour away in Denton. I have been very pleased with Dr. P's office staff, For the most part. They really did seem friendly. Dr. Provost removersed my VBG. I got the stomach stapling in 1984. I had become impossible to live with. Nothing was passing thru my stomach.. I think Dr. P did a good job of explaining the risks of the surgery to me, I would rate Dr. Provost extremely high. I think he is a great choice, particularly if you have any areas of high risk.My Stay was at Presbeperian Hospital, Denton Hospital, and I Was extremely pleased.

Dr. Provost is awesome, he went to bat for me with the insurance co- Aetna, and they reversed their denial in short order!! i am waiting on a surgery date- the scheduling ladies are out with the Flu- go figure! Dr. Provost's staff is excellent, very compassionate, especially Krystina Senkel- the other doctor in his office. Krystina is awesome, and she is very caring- she listens-and is ON your side! Dr. Provost has an aftercare support group, he also is very upfront about risks involved in the surgery. I will have my surgery date next week, and will have the surgery sometime in December!!! can't wait!

Dr. David Provost was friendly, nice, and very thorough in the information that he provided me. He is very knowledgeable in a lot of procedures. rnrnHis bedside manner may not be the best, but he did come and see me after surgery and was very proud of the fact that I was up walking around like it was suggested of me to do.rnrnThe day I was discharged his wife came to see me instead of him and she is the one that discharged me from the hospital.rnrnHe is a very good surgeon and good at what he does.rnrnI highly recommend him to others as he is a great surgeon.

Dr David Provost came highly recommended. I had problems last August when surgery was attempted by another surgeon. Two surgeons told me to go see Dr Provost. He was going to be doing an Open RNY, but due to complications from previous surgeries, he did a biliopancreatic diversion. This is very similar to a DS. It's in the same family of surgeries. This was performed at Presby in Denton.

While Dr. Provost isn't a man of many words, he has a sweet smile and equally sweet bedside manner. He will answer any and all questions you may have, put your mind at ease and his staff is top notch. He has an extremely dedication and structured program from start to finish and requires the same dedication from his patients. He thoroughly explains the risks and benefits associated with various surgical procedures and is regarded as being one of the best bariatric surgeons in the US and I cannot be more thrilled that he has performed my surgery.

I went to Dr. Provost, hoping to get help with some problems I've been having after Gastric Bypass. 9 years ago. Weight gain and some muscle strength problems. I felt that my stoma had stretched out and my pouch empty very fast causing me to get hungry fast. First of all, Dr. Provost took along time with me, trying to convince me that Gastric bypass patients DO NOT have stoma's .And there was nothing he could tighten or put a band around that would help my pouch restrict food . All my 10 years experience with research etc. tells about gastric bypass having a stoma that after awhile could stretch out and some weight come back on. I've also always heard the importance of protein shakes, etc. with problems of hair loss , weight gain, muscle strength, you name it. Dr. Provost DOES NOT believe in protein drinks.
I had had a problem with anemia, and losing strength in my arms and legs. His nutritionist was very rude to me when I called asking about supplements to try and keep some muscle tone. I wont be going back.

David Provost is a courageous doctor who took me in and saved my life when no other surgeon would help me after a botched DS in Mexico with the butcher Dr Huacuz. This he did even though I basically said I had no money or insurance. He is straight laced, no nonsense, but he is patient and answers your questions without judgment. His staff are BEYOND wonderful and kind and friendly and helpful. The hospital was also the best hospital I've ever encountered. What else can I say?! A+++

Dr David Provost has been a God Send. He took me on when other physician's ran for cover. I was severly malnourished, and he reversed my RYGB. He comes highly recommended.

Wonderful surgeon, bedside manner is gruff, so prepare yourself, but there is not a better doctor out there, especially if you have complications!

Dr Provost, is amazing, he is straight forward gives and answers all the questions you gave and takes his time with the patient. His staff is equally amazing, he has a PA,RN,MA,Registered Dietician, all on his staff. When they say complete care Bariatric Surgeon he is one! No questions about it! They have a insurance specialist on staff as well. Support Group, PRE-OP and POST-OP, classes available for his patients. This is and will always be my surgeon of choice.

I liked Dr. Provost a lot. I didn't want to go to him initially. I live in Plano, so I wanted to use Dr. Nicholson at Baylor Plano for convenience, but Dr. Nick sent me to Dr. Provost, an hour away in Denton.rnrnI have been very pleased with Dr. P's office staff. I was previously a patient of Dr. Jayaseelan, and I left him because I had no confidence in his staff. Dr. P actually has a Physician's Assistant and an RN/BSN in his office. At Dr. Jay's I don't think I ever saw an RN. Dr. P also has a nutritionist on staff and his patients spend adequate time with all of the professionals in his office. rnrnI was a risky patient as I have had numerous previous abdominal surgeries, as well as a stomach stapling and a lap band. I think Dr. P did a good job of explaining the risks of the surgery to me, without being \"scary\". rnrnI learned that prior to working as a bariatric surgeon, Dr. P was a trauma surgeon and worked in emergency rooms. So, who else could you possibly want in the OR with you if something went wrong?rnrnOverall, I would rate Dr. Provost extremely high. I think he is a great choice, particularly if you have any areas of high risk. My only cause for concern was the horrible experience I had at Texas Health Resources Denton Hospital, and I wish Dr. P had been more agressive in \"throwing his weight around\" and demanding better care for his patients. Read my review of the hospital for tips to survive your stay.
