First impression? That he was a little smarmy - too slick. But I'm finding I was totally off-base. I've looked into his background and found it good:rnrnhttp://www.laparoscopynw.com/rnrnHe certainly seems to know what he's doing, plus he's already operated on several of my co-workers and they're all doing wonderfully.rnrnKelly, his front-office person, is a sweetheart. Always very cheerful and helpful.rnrnHad my procedure done on 5/20 and doing fabulously. Dr. Lauter was great at the hospital and I think he did a fantastic job. The six entries into my belly - he made one of them on an existing scar from a previous gall bladder surgery. One less new mark - lolrnrnI'm so glad I've had this done, and I'm also very glad that it was Dr. Lauter that did it.

My first impression of Dr. Lauter was that he came across very professionally but was a bit on the quiet side. I was well prepared with a stack of questions and Dr. Lauter took the time to answer all my questions in detail. My impressions of Dr. Lauter haven’t changed from Pre-Op to a Post-Op patient. The Doctor provided me with a 36 page overview of the surgery’s risks and benefits as well as post surgery guidelines. rnrnrnDr. Lauter’s office staff is small (Kelly) but she is very welcoming and does a great job coordinating with insurance and the hospital. When I’ve had questions about issues both pre and post op, if Kelly didn’t have the answer she or the Doctor would be back with me within 24 hours. rnrnI had my surgery at Overlake Hospital in Bellevue Washington. The hospital is a Bariatric center of excellence. Without exception when speaking about Dr. Lauter to other staff they only had the highest compliments about both him and his surgical skill. I would rate Dr. Lauter very highly and would have no hesitation in recommending him to family, friends, or co-workers. rnrnOverall my experience with Dr. Lauter was excellent and I just wish I had gone through with the surgery before I had put on so much weight.rn

My wife and I both had gastric bypass surgery with Dr Lauter on 2/26/08. We had recieved a recommendation from someone else who had used him. We really like Dr Lauter. Not only is he an expert in his field, doing nothing but (all types of) laparoscopic surgeries since 1991, but he has a great demeanor and a good dose of common sense. For example, he doesn't have you on a huge liquid diet for months on end before surgery. Just eat resonably. No binge-ing in order to keep your liver smaller and ease the operation. He answers all questions with throughness and patience and has a great bedside manner. Neither my wife nor I had hardly and pain after surgery! His staff, Kelli, is fantastic too. Friendly and follows up on the details. Overlake, who he's associated with, is going through the process to become a Bariatric Center of Excellence. Highly recommended!

Dr. Lauter rnMy first impression of him that he was very open in his discussion of what to expect with the surgery. He sat and listen to my questions and took the time to answer them. He mad me feel very comfortable.rnHis staff was very helpful in letting me know what to do and get the information for my insurance company. I had to try two times with my insurance company to get approval but with their help I made it.rn2/14/08 marked my second year having the surgery and I just went to see Dr. Lauter we sat and talked and he once again answer my questions and conserns with patience and understanding he is GREAT.

Dr. David Lauter was listed here on OH before I met him; my PCP referred me to him. His special emphasis is on laparoscopic surgery for all kinds of conditions - WLS, gall bladder, colo-rectal surgery, etc. So I felt comfortable with the prospect of him handling my WLS laparoscopically. Rating: 5 stars out of 5!

I was very pleased with Dr. Lauter. He's a very kind, honest person who answered any and all questions very clearly for us. We even went back a couple of times with more questions and he very patiently answered all we had. We asked him all about his record for these surgeries and were very satisfied with his responses. He rated A++ for us with surgical competence and bedside manner.

Surgical competence is by far the most important aspect of the surgery. I don't care if the surgeion has a bedside manner! rnDr. Lauter is an excellent surgeon. I have had no complications with my RNY/gallbladder removal done laproscopically.rnDr. Lauter is quiet and reserved. He is attentive and asks questions. He exudes confidence. rnI highly recommend seeking Dr. Lauters help. He helped me!rnrn
