Wow. I attended a seminar by Dr. Geller at Suburban. It was great - it seemed extremely thorough, very realistic - talking about complications and all of the options. It was longer than I expected at about 1:30, but every question I had was answered. He does lap-band and lap bypasses in addition to open bypasses and talked about the pros and cons of each. Aftercare discussed also. Haven't had surgery, but am very excited and am very comfortable with Dr. Geller as my surgeon. I may come back for another seminar and bring my family so they can hear all about surgery too.

He was very informative and friendly. I was impressed by the way that he explained all of the risks and made them clear, yet still made me feel like I was making the right decision.
His office staff was very helpful and patient.
He has a great bedside manner and makes sure that you understand everything.
He explains everything thoroughly.
He has a comprehensive aftercare program (Right Weigh) that includes support groups.
Dr. Gellar made sure that I understood the risks.
He is the most compassionate doctor that I have ever met.
He is great!!!

I like Dr. Geller, although I met him at the consult, the morning of surgey and didin't even see him when I was in the hospital or at my first office visit. His partner did visit me in the hospital (once) and prescribed some nasal spray because I had allergies.I went through surgery with flying colors and had no problems afterward. His nurse removed the staples and feeding tube at three weeks(I was completely healed)The instructions that he left with nurses at Nortons was my contact with them, and they followed them. If I had to rate Dr. Geller 1-10 I would give him a 9 . My "constitution" being strong carried me through , but I feel if I had needed him after surgery he was a phone call away.He may have made an appearance I didn't know about, I was out of it.

I went to the seminar group for Dr. Geller and took a friend. As he spoke about the different procedures my impression of him changed. He was very good at explaining the procedure and the technique that would be used. Everyone that spoke about him at the meeting said wonderful things and thanked him for his work on them.Right wegh is the aftercare program and i think that i will be definetly taking part in it . The time that I was there felt so beneficial.....overall I would rate him a 7 at this time because i have not had a chance to speak to him one on one however i do look forward to it.....Update I had my first appontment with Dr, Geller and it went great he was very positive and knowledgable.
--- Dr. Geller is wonderful. He is a sweet amn with great bedside manner.I would not trade him in the world I am lucky that I got to have my surgery performed by him. If you are considering bariatric surgery look no further then Dr. Geller you will never regret it!!!!!!! I would now rate him a 10!!!

I had seen Dr. Gellar's picture on his web page so I know what he looked like, and I had read other's posting on first impressions. I don't feel as if I know him at all because I have only spoken with him one on one for only about 15 minutes. However, I was given an opportunity to ask questions that were concerning me. I have had very little contact with him office staff. However, I did speak with Nancy and Glenna on several occasions. They always addressed my questions, or concerns in a very timely manner. After reading other people's postings I feel confident he is a competent surgeon. He did do my niece's RNY and she has had great success. I don't wish to rate him at this point, because as I said, I have had very little contact with him. I'm sure there will be a point that I will be able to respond to this rating question, but not now.

Well I finally met with my Dr. Geller M.D. from the Rightweigh Bariatric Center in Louiseville, Ky and he was just the best, he made me feel like somebody not just and overweight fat man, like most Doctor's when you see them, and his staff was just the best, everybody treated you special, very professional from the lady that toke you weigh to the one that did the paper work everybody was great, I can't say enough about them. Dr. Geller was very concerned about me as a patient and made sure that I knew all of the risk and the problem's that could have not that I would but that could happen, I had never had a Dr. sat down and take that much time to explain things in lenght as he did. I would recommend him to anybody that is thinking about this type of surgery. He also made sure that I was ready for the structured aftercare program that I would be on when I came home and for the rest of my life because It is a life changing life style made sure that I was aware of the diet that I would be on and he just went over everything and made sure I was clearly aware of everything. I would rate him on a scale of 1 to 10 he would be a 8 but now I haven't had the surgery yet and don't know anything about his beside manners but as seeing him in his office he would yate a 8.

What was your first impression of him/her?
I thought it was alittle odd that in the profession he is in that he was overweight himself but once he started talking he was very professional and completely answered any question and the overweight thing ceased to make me wonder.
How would you describe his/her office staff?
Very helpful and polite.
What did you like least about him/her?
I didnt notice anything not to like he was very nice.
How much does he/she emphasize aftercare?
Alot! He made sure to point out that this is just a tool and not a total solution.
How did he/she address the risks of surgery?
Laid it all out on the table didn't sugar coat anything which was very apreciated.
