Dr. Geller is wonderful. When my surgery date came and I saw him for the 2nd time I ask him to try his hardest not to have to do the open RNY. He told me he would do his best. Then, he ren into complications, my omentum was as thick as someone 350 lbs. to 600 lbs. Since he had told me he would do his best not to open me up he took 4 hours to move it all around just so he could keep it Lap. He also had some problems sewing my pouch. He is just wonderful. He is great and I highly recommend him.

I was very pleased at my first meeting with Dr. Geller. He sat down and had a conversation with me. He did not appear to be in a rush and this made me feel comfortable with him. I thought he was well spoken and very professional, but not distant. He takes action with your health and gets everything done in a timely fashion. I am looking forward to seeing him again. The office staff are great too! They answered all my questions and didn't seem as if I was a bother.

I first met Dr. Geller when my husband and I attented the seminar. He is friendly, knowledgable and makes sure his patients are well informed. My husband had his surgery 1/6/06. At that seminar, I mentioned that we didnt want to have surgeries at the same time (meaning same day) and someone in the office decided that meant to put mine on hold. Which they did. I called about April, wondering when I was going to get set up and they said I hadnt even been started. It was frustrating, but now I have everything together. There were problems with my insurance covering the surgery after recieving the pre authorization. Both my husband and I spoke with \"Cheryl\" in the office on many occassions. Each time she was short, rude and disrespectful. Not the sort of person one would expect in Dr. Gellers office. I hope that others have had better experiences with her, this is just both my husbands and mine. At this point I am hoping to move forward and finally get a surgery date. I will update. Dr. Geller is very skilled and there is no one else I would go to. I work with many other bariatric surgeons in Louisville, and he is my choice. The rest of his office staff seem friendly and professional. I guess there is always one bad apple in the barrel.

Dr. Geller and his staff are wonderful. I never felt rushed and he seems to really care about what is happening. I am having insurance problems and he has been helping me with the process. I would recommend him and his staff.

I thought Dr. Geller was very nice and very knowlegable. I thought he was very good going over all the surgeries, benefits and the risks. He seems to be a very busy doctor, but he didn't try to rush me during our consultation, which could be good and bad. I heard patients waiting in the waiting room say they wait hours from their scheduled appointment time.

My first impression of him is that he is cute. I thought that he looked alot younger in person, then his picture on obesityhelp. I he explained the procedure so thoroughly that he was not pressed for time, he was there in the moment. It seemed that his nurses were the one hinting to him to cut it short, it was kinda funny, cause he didn't seem to care. I went to his seminar on 3/16/06 and it was extremely informative.
I warn you that it is rare to find a doctor sincerely concerned about his patience and not the dollar bill. He is the most kindess and compassionate, most concerned doctor that I've met in a long time. Doctors are the reason I tend to favor nurse practitioners, but he is the exception to the rule. He is great!! On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the greatest, I rank him a 10!! He is smart and informative, and he has a great personality, and he loves his family, which matters to me. A happy doctor is a good doctor. Dr. Gellar will be helping me "Get my groove back" (crossing fingers)

Dr. Geller is much younger than I expected. He seems to be very thorough with his exam. He has a very high interest in all his patients. Do not know much yet.
3/1/06 Just wanted everyone to know that Dr. Geller ia a wonderful man. I am 13 days post op and am still waiting for the pain to start. I am telling you if you follow his instructions before and after surgery you will do excellent. Dr. Geller want you to have the best care after your surgery. Just as I say follow his instructions. He to me is wonderful, wonderful and such a caring doctor. Dr Geller thank you and your staff so much.

My first impression of Dr. Geller was very good. I feel he has great knowledge of Bariatric surgery. His staff has been very helpful and considerate of my needs.I was warned of the risks that are involved with this type of surgery.I would rate Dr.Geller a 9 out of 10 so far.My surgery is not until October 1st. I feel I'm in good hands!!!!

My first impression of the doctor and his office - too busy to take personal interest in a patient. I still made the decision to move forward with this practice because he seemed extremely knowledgeable on the subject and very competent. I only saw the doctor twice -once during the quick initial visit during the consult and once for about 5 minutes before surgery. His staff is obviously overwhelmed with the number of patients that they take and aren't very efficient at returning phone calls. However, they are all nice to speak with and it appears that they are trying to be helpful. For Band patients, the information, to me, seems very Bypass patient centric. The office or doctor did not follow up either in the hospital or after procedure. Handholding is not necessary but a follow up phone call is a reasonable expection. Overall, I personally, have been extremely disappointed and hope that my experience is only isolated.

My first impression of Dr. Geller was "He's Fat!" I later decided that this should not affect his performance and I went ahead with him. He is a very nice, mild mannered, family man. He will answer any questions you may have. It's been six months and he is a stickler for their program (as far as aftercare). Measure Your Foods! is what I heard most at my last visit. I did have to see his partner, Dr. Shina while in the hospital and he was nothing like others had told me. He has a reputation of not sugar-coating things. Maybe because he was just filling in for Geller; I don't know but he was very nice to me.
As for his staff, they have improved since my initial contacts. Brandy was so busy with so many patients , she did mix up my surgery time and Dr. Geller just happened to call me the night before my surgery to ask about video taping the surgery. (Still don't have copy of that yet :-( When I asked him to confirm the time, we knew there was a mix up. I'm not mad though because it all worked out. They have a new nurse there, named Cheryl who is wonderful to work with.
