I had my weight loss surgery in April 2015, the morning of Dr Fang advised I had gall stones and it would make sense to remove the gall bladder during the weight loss procedure a 2 for 1 he said. Since friends and family had gone through the weight loss procedure with Dr Fang successfully, I felt comfortable proceeding. The weight loss surgery was successful, however the gall bladder removal was a total fail with complications. Mother's Day 2015 I almost died due to the complications. For months I was sick and kept following with doctor Fang to try to figure out was wrong with me. Finally in 2016 I gave up on Dr Fang and his office. I have had numerous surgeries, multiple hospital visits. My life was affected by the two for one procedure. This whole ordeal has had such an adverse effect, I cannot work, my family sees me in constant distress. I have attempted to get legal help with no success. So I'm my case the doctor gets to wash his hands clean of his fail and ruining my life! Dr Fang, the bridges center of AZ - thank you!!
I had Gastric Sleeve Surgery with Dr. Fang on 4/18/14. It was the best decision of my life and he was definitely the best choice I could have made. I did lots of research and went to his seminars and knew that he was the right surgeon for me. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars has nothing to do with him. I didn't care for their Patient Advocate program. They did do their job and got me approved but I found them to be unfriendly and I certainly didn't feel like a valued patient. It's seems the staff at bridges and the staff at St. Luke's were very different. The staff at St. Luke's seemed helpful and friendly. Another negative is that the hospital in the middle of a ghetto. I have to be honest about that. It's too bad because I think Dr. Fang and Dr. Juarez are brilliant doctors. It's a shame they have to practice at such an old facility. I wish they would move their practice to a much a nicer hospital. The nursing staff during my surgery were ok. Some nice, Some not so nice. The IV for my pain medicine came out of my arm during recovery. Since I was going to be discharged in about 4 hours from that point, I opted for pills. The charge nurse (some young kid) said he would get it for me and in the background I heard him going into other patient rooms and assisting them. I had to actually get out of bed, take my bp monitor with me and walk over to the nursing station to get my pain meds. Very poor service. Would I do the same over again with Dr. Fang, Absolutely !!!! He was worth all the other negatives. Not only did he personally return the few messages I had for him but he returned them in the same day I left them. My surgery went so easy. I had some pain after, but that was expected and normal. Two months have passed and I've lost almost 60 pounds. I highly recommend him if your looking for a good surgeon, just don't have high expectations of the patient advocates or the nursing staff at the hospital or the hospital in general.
I am almost 2.5 years out all I can say is thank you Dr Fang I am 10 lbs from what the charts say is obese. Dr Fang; was great. Answered all my questions. Worked had with me to get approved.. Thank you again.
I had surgery on the 29th of December. Feeling great. Dr. Fang was great. Thank You so much for helping me get my life back.rnTerri
What can I say about Dr Fang that hasn't already been said. He's very intelligent, he's all business (hard to make him laugh), and he's a master at his craft. I found him to be very patient and willing to spend as much time as I needed when asking questions. At times I would call the office (pre-op) to ask questions of the staff and Dr Fang would insist on taking the time to talk to me and answer my questions directly over the phone (very rare these days). My surgery went off without a hitch. I was up and moving around that afternoon following surgery & I went home after only one day in the hospital. I felt about 85% by day 5 post-op, & I was back to normal within 4 weeks (sans the much smaller appetite and stomach).

Dr. Fang was highly recommended to me by my primary care, cardiologist and psychiatrist. I first met Dr. Fang at the introductory seminar. He made an excellent first impression and answered all of the questions put forward by the participants. After working with his staff and support personnel, my impression of the Bridge's Center at St. Luke's Medical Center soared, and I was thrilled with the pre-operative and post-operative services provided. My contacts with Dr. Fang have been very satisfactory and I would highly recommend him to anyone considering the lapband surgery. During the surgery he found a hiatal hernia and repaired it.
The aftercare program is excellent. He and his staff call to check on recovery progress, there are post-surgery visits, support groups (nutritional and pychological)
clothing exchange, etc. The Bridges Center is always there for any questions you might have.
I would rate Dr. Fang and his entire staff as excellent. His surgical competence and bedside manner are the best! Kudos! The only suggestion that I would have is to provide new patients with a campus map, and better signage for finding the center. My first couple of trips were confusing until I asked someone and the parking areas and entrances were explained. Inside the Center signs showing better directions to the areas where lectures and small groups meet would be helpful. Now that I know my way around, I don't get lost.

I've only met Dr. Fang once so far, but he was very nice and very positive. His office staff checked with my insurance to see what the requirements are, and they gave me a checklist so I wouldn't miss anything. I also have to give credit to my PCP, Dr. Shilpa Gujrathi. She is incredibly nice, and she did a great job of explaining exactly what I can expect.
My surgeon is Dr. Fang with the Bridges Center in Phoenix, AZ. My first impression of DR. Fang was that he was a very caring and understanding DR. He explain all the things that would go on with me during my pre op stage and post op stage. The office staff was very helpful and nice. The only thing I didn't like to much was the office visits were a long wait, but it was because DR. Fang wants to give all his patients enough time to go over all there concerns. So for that I didn't mind waiting. For future patients that are thinking of using DR. Fang it would be a great choice. He is all about the person he is treating and not about hurrying up just to get paid.DR. Fang is very concerned about making sure his patients drink there fluids, get their protein, and walking to prevent blood clots that can happen after any type of surgery.DR. Fang and the Bridges Center has a lot of after care classes to go to, and they are always willing to answer any questions you may have day or night. DR. Fang explained all the risk that COULD happen to me but assured me that it would more then likely not due to me being young and having no other health issues. I would rate DR. Fang a #1 on the surgery scale and bedside manner scale. I think having a surgeon that is good with both surgical competence and bedside manner is essential for a patient and DR. Fang is that surgeon.
