Bariatric Surgeon, Dr. William Arnold

William (“Will”) Arnold, MD serves as the medical director and lead bariatric surgeon at the Abrazo Medical & Surgical Weight Loss at Arrowhead Campus. He is also the Program Director for the Abrazo Health Network General Surgery Residency Program, providing surgical residents with an opportunity for a well-rounded education and clinical experience. Dr. Arnold is a board-certified general surgeon that specializes in minimally invasive gastrointestinal surgery, advanced laparoscopy, endoscopy, and the treatment of obesity through bariatric surgery.

He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California with a focus in Biochemistry and earned his medical degree from the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. Dr. Arnold completed his internship, residency, and a fellowship in minimally invasive surgical research at TUFTS in Boston. He is also fellowship trained in minimally invasive bariatric surgery through the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Dr. Will Arnold has practiced general surgery and bariatric surgery in Phoenix for the past 20 years. As an accomplished and compassionate surgeon, Dr. Arnold was named one of Arizona's Top Docs by Phoenix Magazine.

Dr. Arnold is passionate about helping his patients improve their health and transform their lives. He believes in a holistic approach and provides a comprehensive bariatric weight loss program that includes exercise, nutrition, and behavior modification. He offers three bariatric surgery options using minimally invasive laparoscopic techniques, they include Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass, Sleeve Gastrectomy, and the Biliopancreatic Diversion with Duodenal Switch (BPD/DS). He also performs bariatric surgery revisions to treat complications from a gastric band or a previous bariatric procedure. 

Dr. Arnold performs all surgeries at the Abrazo Scottsdale Campus, an accredited comprehensive bariatric facility by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP), a joint program of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). This designation demonstrates a commitment to our patients and that our program meets the rigorous national standards for patient safety and bariatric surgical care.
