Dr.Nease is the greatest around he is my savior he is very caring and a great doctor and i wouldn't trust anyone else.
he saved my life. we have known dr.nease since 2000 when he fixed a herna on my
daughter, and gastric bypass on my grandaughter. and i trust him more than anyone ,
his staff are great also and Syliva is wonderful and very helpfull.
if your thinking about this and trying to pick the right doctor then i would pick dr.nease I'm 68 and was close to 400 lbs.
have needed this done for a long while but i didn't feel safe withone else and nobody wanted to do it either they said it couldn't be done because of my age. so when i heard he was coming back to our area i know my prayers were answered.
my surgery was 1/3/05 and i feel great have not been sick at all. he does a great job addressing the surgery and all the risks and he tells you why he is doing this and his staff are very great and I rate him on a scale of 1-20 a 100 that's how great he is .

I have attended his seminar in Huntington West, Virginia. I met Kim and Sylvia, both which are extremely kind and courteous and friendly. I have a scheduled app. for my consult. on Feb.1. I also have made my app. for my psy. evaluation on Feb. 14 also in Huntington. That just leaves me my nutritionist visits and getting approved. At the seminar Dr. Nease expressed the risks extremely well and in detail. I have extreme confidence in him and I am so very glad to have chosen him as my surgeon.

Dr. Nease has got to be my hero. When I first met him, he was super nice, and he treated me like a friend right away, not like a patient. After the first time I met him, I actually WANTED to go back to his office just to give him a hard time; we're road-dogs now :) Dr. Nease's office staff were always fun and ready to help. Whenever you would come into the office, they would call you by your first name, and no matter how big or little your current accomplishment was (losing weight, getting approved for the surgery, etc.) they were always rooting you on. There wasn't a thing I didn't like about Dr. Nease, like I said, we're road-dogs :) Future patients should know that Dr. Nease is the best out there and that he's changed not only my life but my mum's and sister's as well. The important stuff like aftercare, exercise, etc, is all empahsized a lot; the surgery is just a tool. The support groups that are put on are fun and informative. All of us here in California were sad to see Dr. Nease leave, but wish him all the best. I love ya Dr. Nease!

My first impression on Dr.Nease is that he looks very nice. After we talked and stuff he was very helpful and very polite and well mannered. Dr. Nease is so down to earth and has a wonderful sense of humor I am glad that I picked him from all the rest. I rate Dr. Nease overall 1 out of 10 I'd give him a 10 the best. I wish he didn't leave Garden Grove but i wish him the best in Ohio.

He seemed laid back but knowledgable, kindly, empathetic, interested. Not at all pretentious but easy to connect with.

My appreciation of Dr. Nease has only increased the more I was in his care. He was quick to reply to my concerns and thoughts.

His staff; Betty, Marla, Kimberly seem to be personally happly to help and listen and share and are all first quality professionals.

I'm sorry Dr. Nease is leaving the area and many of his office staff are moving on as well.

Dr. Nease and his office adamently insist on regular follow up visits-refering me to his assistant Dr. Korman for my subsequent visits after he leaves California.

Wonderful training for the aftercare program.

They skillfully scared the crap out of me giving me the "worse case" occurances that "may" happen to me.

I give Dr. Nease, Garden Grove Hospital, and all his staff an A+.

I chose Dr. Nease for my surgeon having never met him based on his credentials. I'm very please that I found him because he is wonderfully kind and has great bedside manner as well. However, I think surgical ability is ultimately more important than bedside manner.

Dr. Nease is everything I was looking for in a surgeon!! He is extremly knowledgable, caring, approacable, sensative, supportive, organized.... I could go on & on about him!!!Every time I go to see him he is always so concerned and caring!!! I feel he is the best!!
Everyone in his office is so caring and supportive!! From the moment I walk into the office to the time I leave everyone makes me feel so welcomed I feel like there all part of a family.
I am a nurse and I know there are not many places like this!!! I wish more MD's were just a little like Dr. Nease......the medical community would be a much better place!!!!!

Dr. Nease and his staff are the best. They always give you all the time you need to ask questions, even if you are not his patient yet. He is an excellent bariatric surgeon that specializes in laparoscopic gastric bypass. Him and his staff visit you during your hospital stay, and he has an excellent aftercare program with nutrition classes. Attendance to a pre-op seminar is mandatory and he is very precise and clear on all the risks of surgery. He also keeps reminding you that surgery is a tool not a cure and he'll help you all the way. I rate him a 10!!!!

Before I met Dr. Nease I was thinking to myself, ah yes, another doctor to make me feel bad about myself and my inability to lose weight. Of course after I met him, that all changed. From the first phone call to his office and talking to his office staff to actually meeting him for my initial office visit and then several days later attending one of his seminars, I quickly realized this was no ordinary doctor.

To begin with his staff was unbelievable. They were so nice and caring and helpful. Not like the other doctors I had interviewed in the past who do this procedure. With the other offices, I felt like just another patient with questions, who was taking up their time. But with Dr. Nease's staff, there was no question that was insignificant to them. I never felt "dismissed" by the staff.

And then there is Dr. Nease himself. I have never met someone so caring and dedicated to his patients. You never feel that he entered into this profession because he wanted to make lots of money. He has such a genuine care for his patients. I know I have always been made to feel special, which is what everyone I've met who is his patient says. He makes everyone feel special and important. He just cares so much about helping people battle this disease of obesity.

Additionally, he's so thorough in his explanation of the procedure and what you will go through as well as what risks you could face. He leaves nothing to the imagination. And you never feel rushed. He will take all the time with you that you need. His devotion to his patients does not end once the surgery has been completed either. He stresses the importance of joining the support group and I must say, that support group has become like a family. And again, if there are questions that come up down the road, you just have to call his office and someone will be able to help you even if it is just to calm your nerves. I still go into his office once per month for follow-up.

His skill and comptetence as a surgeon, as far as I'm concerned are unmatched. With the other doctors I had interviewed, they made it very clear to me that there was no way they would even attempt to perform my procedure laproscopically. My weight was 410 pounds and they just wouldn't do it. Dr. Nease said, he couldn't promise me a lap procedure, but he said he'd try his best to accomplish it and he did. I was healed, healthy and back to work in two weeks.

So in summary would I recommend Dr. Nease...unequivocally YES. As I tell people now, my parents gave me life. Dr. Nease gave me back my life. I'll never be able to thank him enough. My surgery was May 11, 2004 and as of today, August 25, 2004 I have lost 73 pounds.

I think that Dr. Nease is wonderful!

I first met him at his seminar in Garden grove.

He is very informative and stressed the facts of being overweight and not having the surgery vs. having the surgery and possible risks involved. He is very upfront and does not leave anything out.

His staff is wonderful and goes through the whole process with you step by step. This is not something you will be doing alone. His staff has called me on several ocassions. I always have an abundance of questions and they always have time for me. I know that Dr. Nease has a very busy office, but you feel like you are their only patient when they are dealing with you! Cynthia,Marla and Kim You are the best!

I have not had surgery yet, but early October will be my date and there is no other surgeon for me, I wanted the best and I found him Dr. Blaine Nease.

I have already attended a support group and it was very informative and you learned so much more from patients there.
Everyone is willing to share their good experiences as well as their bad ones. You receive alot of feedback and postive support within this group.

Anyone thinking about have WLS. I would whole heartly, and highly recommend going to one of the seminars put on by Dr. Nease and his staff.
I have to tell you I have been to others and they did not even compare to what I learned attending this one. He goes over the risks in detail and some may change their minds after hearing that this surgery could result in death....He also talks about the benefits of WLS. Dr. Nease lost his father to obesity so he is very passionate about this cause.

Read anyone of the post on this web-site and hear what patients have to say about Dr. Nease and you will hear the same things about him...genuine,caring,great bed side manner, he is just a great, great doctor!

I rate Dr. Nease well above a 10...he's one in a million! in my book.

Keep in mind that I have not had surgery yet. So everything up to this point has been my observations as someone on the outside, it helped me to make my decision to have this surgery. But I know that this is the surgeon I want to do my RNY-Lap.
