Dr. Holland and his office staff are very dedicated to bariatric paients. There is strong support both pre-op and post-op. I would strongly recommend Dr. Holland for any procedure, and would choose his practice for any future surgery I may need.

He is a great surgeon. The team at Sacred Heart Hospital is wonderful. Dr Holland and Dr Sawyna go into every surgery together so you always have 2 surgeons with you. The bariatric coordinator Karen Nisky is just as wonderful. She is so helpful. The hospital does have a suppost group. Dr Holland reviews everything with including all the risks and benfits. He is an awesome surgeon and I would recommend him to anyone!

My first impression of him is that he is very quiet and reserved. He was very helpful because he informed me of every type of WLS, their risks, and their pro's. He is very nice and so is his office staff. They were all extremely helpful and kind. He does emphasize aftercare. After a couple of visits he does warm up and is friendlier.

I had my consultation today with Dr Holland and found him and the entire staff to be very pleasant and informative. I have been provided with all of the information I need for pre-op & post-op care and diet. If all goes well with the insurance company my tentative surgery date has been set for 9/19! I'm on my way!

Dr. Holland is extremely sensitive and straight-forward. I have seen him in the office and he answered all my questions with a no-nonsense approach. He also attends the WLS support group meeting that is a part of the full WLS program at Sacred Heart Hospital. His staff is extremely helpful and friendly. He realizes and stresses the importance of the aftercare program through the hospital. I would highly recommend Dr. Holland and the entire program at Sacred Heart!

My first impression of Dr. Holland was that he is a quiet and reserved man, but is professional and very good at what he does. My impression of him has not really changed, but I think he is more out-going and caring now then when I first met him. His office staff is the BEST!! I could NEVER say enough good about them. They were there for me every single step of the way before and after. They, along with Dr. Holland went above and beyond what they had to do for the surgery. My husband is active duty Navy and stationed in Al Manama Bahrain in the Middle East...after having problems with getting him home, they called the Red Cross and made it clear that he should be here for me...he was home a few days later.
Dr. Holland has a structured aftercare program and he is very adament that you do the right things like eat right, drink water, exercise and take the vitamins! At our first meeting he was very up front with me and told me of all risks and possible complications...the only one I really had a problem with was death!!

Dr. Holland was soft spoken, professional, and compassionate. He let me talk to him about my concerns with the surgery and about my goals. He has shown me both patience and understanding. His office staff is open and helpful to even the smallest concern or question. They always know who you are when you call and always ask how you are feeling/doing. At one month post-op I feel excited and eager to move into my after care with them and the program that is set up at Sacred Heart. Although Dr. Holland was very upfront about the risks of the surgery, he was very confident in his telling of the successes. He made it very clear that if the surgery was something that I wanted, the risks would have to be understood and accepted... He shows both surgical competence and professional bedside manner.

First impression was quite positive. Really knows his stuff, but is not outwardly touchy-feely type of person. Impression did not change over time, but it was not a problem. His office staff (secretary) is fine, knowledgeable/competent. Least liked - seems a bit distant/detached from others at first, but once you get to know him - he loosens up. Aftercare is HIGHLY emphasized and there is a structured aftercare program thru his office and the hospital as well.

The risks involved with this kind of surgery were well gone over and I knew what they were.

Overall - I would rate Dr. Holland very HIGHLY. He is VERY competent and did very well wtih my opeation. I would say his surgical competence is greater than personality. I have no reservations about referring him to others.
