I was very impressed at our first meeting. He sent me out a packet of information prior to my first consult that answered 98% of my questions before I even got there. He spent nearly an hour with my husband and I. His staff was very friendly and helpful. He empathises with your condition and truly wants to help you to get beyond the weight problems. He addressed all my fears and the risks of surgery. Overall I found him to be totally competent and a very nice man in general. His surgical competence and bedside
manner were both great. We do live 2 hours away from his office, so now being almost five years post-op I no longer see him annually. My regular physician takes care of all my annual blood work for me. And I understand that he is no longer performing bariatric surgery after one of his partners' patients died after surgery.

Dr. Kinter was very understanding and sincere the first time I met him, I was in with my mom for her post-op visit. That's when I mentioned I would like to have the surgery and he said to have his staff set me up with an appointment for an evaluation. It was only 2 months away. His office staff is great! It's too bad that Our local paper, The Fresno Bee has been picking on him & Dr. Gladen about losing patients, to the point that they have quit performing these surgeries.

Thanks

Dr Kinter is a very kind, personable and knowledgeable surgeon. He is very upfront with his patient's and pulls no punches. I have known him since 1998. He was my mom's surgoen for her WLS operation. I am glad that I was able to get him to do my operation. I wanted no one else. His staff could be a little nicer but all in all I would recommend him to anyone!

My first impression of Dr Kinter was that he's a very kind & careing person. He's very polite, very informative & most of all he's not afraid to touch an obes person.
As far as my impression of him chageing I have to say its only gotten better. He has your best interest at heart.
As far as his office staff they've all been wonderful to me there all very kind informative & careing people & If it werent for one of his office staff members Neila I would not of got to have my surgery this year. But she worked me in.
So far there hasnt been anything Im unhappy about. All I can say is he's a great Dr.
I think future patients should know that he's interested in getting you healthy & giveing you a second chance to life.
So far after care has been great.I just started, but if I ever have a question I just call & ask him no matter what time.
As far as a structured program you can eat what you'r stomach can tolerate & try to eat healthier foods.Thats his suggestion.
The way he addressed the risk for surgery was he did'nt beat around the bush he told the truth no matter how blunt it was.He explaines the pro's & cons of if & does'nt make it to be somehting its not.
I would rate him an awsome Dr & THANKS to Him he has given me a second chance to do things right.
His surgical competence & bedside manner are great. He explained very well what was going to happen.Everytime he saw me in the hospital he shook my hand and asked me how I was doing & feeling.

First Impression: I liked him he seemed knowledgable. He never gave me the impression that he was in this for the money. My first impression never did change . I like his office staff.I have never had a problem with them.My insurance was changing at the end of Dec. so it was important that I have the surgery before this happened. My appt was in the beginning of dec and they got me in with no problems. I was so greatful. I would refer anyone to him. He saved my life. I would rate him a 9 (no one is a 10...lol) Surgical competence is the most important thing , I work in a hospital...I would much rather have a competant surgeon than a great personality and sense of humor.Because it is not funny if they screw up.

My first impression of Dr. Kinter was one of kindness, compassion, and integrity...And as time went by...these beliefs were increased tenfold...His office staff were helpful and very considerate...with their best quality being one of patience in answering all of my quesions. There wasn't anything I didn't like about Dr. Kinter...I feel that any potential patient should be assured that Dr. Kinter will offer them the best surgical care they could get from this surgery. He was explicit in his aftercare instructions, verbal and written. Dr. Kinter was very honest about this surgery...He described it as a "tool" to use to get healthy...one of many...He didn't promise the moon...he was honest about the surgery itself and its dangers..and he answer all questions quite informatively...I rate him an A+...his care from surgical competence to bedside manner was excellent. These comments are based on my personal experience I had with Dr. Kinter and his staff.... I cannot be responsible for anybody else's opinion or care they might receive from Dr Kinter and his staff if that care turns out to be any thing less than what I have experienced with him...I can only answer your questions as honestly as possible based on my personal experience with Dr. Kinter as my surgeon, and his staff in the pre and post op care I received....

I feel Dr Kenter is a very competent Surgeon. I would have liked a more structured aftercare program.

I first met Dr. Kinter at his orientation. I thought he was nice, knowledgeable about the surgery. I am more concerned with knowledge and skill than bedside manner. I was most impressed when I saw two of his patients and their scar, it was about 3", he also said the average length of recovery is 3 weeks. That convinced me to go with the open (he doesn't do lap)since the scar was so minimal and the recovery time was about as good as lap. My orientation with him was brief; I didn't have a lot of questions because I had spent so much time researching this. He seemed confident that I could get approved, some way. He was also compassionate when I told him I didn't want to die young like my mom did. The thing I liked most about him was apparently he knew what to say in his letter to the insurance because I was approved in 3 days! His office staff is ok; not overly friendly. Then I had to call and find out if I was approved; the hospital called me by mistake and "let it slip" that they had an authorization number. I waited another week and then called the office. I basically asked the receptionist to check for me because she wasn't going to and then she discovered that I had been approved. I said "well, I'm glad I called" - the surgery was scheduled in 3 weeks! and she said, "well, your file was on the top of the stack so I'm sure she was going to call you today!". But I wasn't that upset since I had been approved! I'll update what I think of Dr. Kinter after my surger.
