Even though he appeared young, I liked that, becasue he seems to be very knowlegdable and performs the latest and least invasive surgery. PhP does not approve the procedure themselves. they allow the Dr to determine if I qualify for surgery and approve it based on that. i was told from the 1st visit with no approval problems 2 to 3 weeks I am going on 6 - 8 and his office staff seems to move slowly. My insurance is still waiting on info from the office. The longer it takes them the longer out my surgery date will be. Currently im looking at April. he seems to be very thorough and even answered questions an concerns my husband had. So far I would rate him a 10 and office 5. We will see if things change.I do call about every other day and makes sure things are getting done! I will say though they are always very pleasant when I call, and I do believe they are doing there best. I think overall though I will be pleased with him and his office. I think its more so becasue im anxious and becoming impatient.
First impression was--"It must be Bring your son to work day" no- just kidding he was young though.
Still felt he was young but very knowledgable
friendly, non judgemental
when I asked about if he had any deaths he said "None yet" Oh my-- dont start with me!!
Practice what you preach-- do not judge by appearance and age alone. It is his knowledge and expertise that matters.
He is very thorough on explaining aftercare Yes very structured.
Very clear on the risks. I would rate him a 9
Both competance an dmanners seem very good. I hope to know more after my predetermination letter comes back and I can spend more time with him.
1. He was a sweet child.....Young!
2. He was caring.
3. Very nice and didn't have to wait long.
4. Every thing was fine, but he is fairly new.
5. He made my stomach less than 2 oz. and my stoma smaller to keep food in longer.
6. We have a great after care program in Carmel at St. V.
7. Sme as above
8.Informative.
9. Very satisfied with him. I have no problems except adjusting to eating so little.
10. All was great.
This was my personal experience and I make no statements about what others may experience.
My first impression of Dr. Evanson was that he was REALLY young - however after the 1 hr group meeting where he describe the procedures and shared his own personal correlations, I am glad I have a young sugeon who is up on the most current procedures. I havent had much contact with the office staff as of yet - but the few encounters have been pleasant. Dr. Evanson has been doing this for 6 years now and is in a practice with two other surgeons who are highly qualifed and well liked. He has had no deaths. The program has an extremely structured aftercare and he is aware and has attended all the support groups available through this program himself. I received a form that explained all the risks of both the surgeries he performs. Overall - at this point - I would rate him an 9. That question will be better answered at a latter time.
Have attended the initial group meeting with Dr. Evanson. He makes a good first impression, although he does appear young. He works as a trauma surgeon at Methodist Hospital, so he obviously has fine surgical skills. Surgical risks were discussed and any and all questions answered. The office staff seems nice so far. The aftercare program seems very comprehensive. Looking forward to getting approval and getting started.
