I first went to see Dr. Huse. Dr. Huse was full of very valuable information. Talking to him made me make up my mind about the surgery. I have been thinking about it for over 2 years now. He seems a little shy but very informative.
I have decided to switch to Dr. Gupta...I have not met her yet but once I do I will inform you all of my opinion.
Dr. Gupta is great....I am so happy I switched docs!! She was very understanding and had so much valuable knowledge in WLS.
My first impression of Dr. Gupta was that she was SO YOUNG. She was very knowledgable but seemed nervous speaking in front of a large group. At our one on one meeting she seemed more relaxed. She has a very structured aftercare program. She is in practice with Dr. Rose Marie Jones. I think I am going to like her.
I went to my first initial consultation on
February 14, 2003. Dr Gupta went over the program ok and let us ask questions, then I discussed the surgery with her as an office visit afterwards-the visit went pretty quick I am a little concerned about her being so new to the lap procedure. As a matter of fact, I would love to talk to anyone else who has had the lap done w/Dr. Gupta, but because she is so new don't see anyone listed as having lap done w/her. I don't care about her bedside manner just want to come out no complications. I have to say in dealing with her office, I am not real impressed I was approved verbally by PHP on March 11th, when I called her office they said I would need it in writing, I faxed it to them as soon as I got it, I called got voice mail they never returned the call, so I called them back next business day. I was told it would take a week to a week in a half to: record it, put it in computer, send it to the DR, then back to scheduler. I guess I expected to maybe be delayed by Insurance but not by the office, especially after having approval.
