I must say that I love my surgeon. She has been wonderful and very supportive from the get go. I was a little nervous when I 1st met her, since she was thin. I figured that she would have a negative attitude toward me and boy was I wrong. She made me feel very comfortable and answered all my questions and was very quick to give me all the risks associated with having the surgery. I was also impressed with the fact that she gave me the pros and cons of lap band and RNY. She also said that the lab band surgery is not the BEST choice for those who need to loose a lot of weight. Her office staff is just as wonderful and very quick to return my phone calls!! I would recommend Dr. Caccuci to anyone, she is just AWESOME and I can't thank her enough for changing my life in so many ways!! My hospital stay was one of the best I have ever had and my surgery went better than expected as well as my recovery time. I was back to work in 7 days!! I have received excellent after care thus far and Dr. Caccuci has been quick to compliment me on my progress.
So far my only experience with my surgeon is from the group session and one on one consultation.rnrnShe seems very personable and down to earth. I like that she was very matter of fact about things. She has a way about her that really puts you at ease.rnrnAt this point I like her really well. I anticipate having nothing but good things to say about her after surgery.
I thought that Dr. Cacucci, did a great job of informing me of the procedure, possible complications, and outcome. She is well educated and informed. I was very comfortable with her. rnrnThe office staff is great. They are all considerate and caring.rnrnI give Dr. Cacucci a 10 on a scale of 1-10. She is great and glad that she was my surgeon.rnrnI think that Dr. Cacucci's bedside manner and surgical competence were great and would want her to do it all over again.
Dr. Cacucci was not the original surgeon I had consulted with. I had received my approval from my insurance company (10 months of hard work) and my original surgeon was not going to be able to schedule my surgery for 3-4 months. I was really disappointed and mentioned this at the October support group sponsored by St. Vincent's Bariatric Center. One of the members suggested that I contact Dr. Brenda Cacucci who had performed her surgery back in May 2007. This member said that once she had her approval that she was scheduled to have surgery in about 3 weeks. Well 3 weeks sounded much better then 3-4 months. I contacted the Carmel Surgical Group and the staff was so kind and pleasant. I had a consultation appointment within a week of my initial phone call. I felt like the staff really cared about ME unlike the other office. rnrnDr. Cacucci is a warm, welcoming, & friendly person. She has a positive outlook on life for herself and her for each of her patients. At my initial consultation Dr. Cacucci and I talked extensively about my procedure, my goals, her expectations of me and my expectations of her. She had me scheduled for surgery about 3 weeks after my initial appointment.rnrnThe day of surgery was wonderful. I was relaxed, confident and ready to start this new part of my life. Dr. Cacucci was also very accommodating to my wishes of who to contact after my surgery was complete. rnrnI would recommend Dr. Brenda Cacucci to anyone considering WLS. The skills that she has been blessed with as a surgeon are excellent. I have had no complications since my surgery and that has been almost 2 months now. She has also been blessed with a pleasant personality that is kind, compassionate, caring but yet strong enough to be direct about what she wants/expects from her patients. rnrnTwo thumbs up for Dr. Cacucci!!!!
Everyone at the initial seminar was very nice and helpful. My first impression of Dr. Cacucci was that she seemed like she knew what she was doing and what she was talking about. She seemed pleasant and had a good sense of humor. During our one on one, she looked me directly in the eye and asked me lots of questions. I was taken aback by how direct she was. I liked that. I felt she was looking for something in me. I guess she must have found whatever she was looking for because she agreed to take me as a patient right then. She was very informative and even stressed all the risks. I have not had much contact with her yet. I will write more as I have it. I know the girls in her office, Amy and Heather, were VERY sweet and helpful...So far, I rate them a strong 9 out of 10.rnrnNow I am post op and had to call in the middle of the night once. Dr Jones (on call for Dr Cacucci) was SO sweet and I felt so bad waking her. She knew just what to do. I thank her. Dr Cacucci has a great personality and smile and she is easy to talk to. I look forward to getting to know her as I move forward with this new chapter of my life!
My first impression was that she is a very professional but still down to earth with her patients. After 3 years since my surgery I know that my first impression was correct. My aftercare since surgery has been excellent with blood work review every 6 months and nutrition counseling. rnrnDr Cacucci told me up front that being 475 lbs that I was a high risk patient. She also informed me that even though she plans on doing my surgery laparoscopic that when she starts she may have to open me up. This was affirmed just prior to start of the procedure and being put out.rnrnI highly recommend Dr Cacucci based on my personal experience and her history in the field of WLS. To me the surgical competence is top priority and bedside manner is then frosting on the cake. Dr Cacucci provided both to the highest degreern
