1st impression, he is very direct and to the point.
Over time, you come to respect his directness
The office staff is good. Julia knows her stuff and can answer almost any question.
I did a ton of research before choosing Dr. Greene. His reputation is beyond reproach.
The only thing I didnt like was at the 1st appointment he was a abrupt and too direct for me.
Know that if you choose Dr. Greene, he is very strict. There is a regiment and you better follow it.
Aftercare is stressed at the office. They have multiple groups that meet and you have multi-follow appts with Dr. Greene.
Before you even get an appointment you must attend a group meeting where all the risks are discussed.
I would rate Dr. Greene very high.
I would rather have a compentent surgeon with a bad bedside manner.
I was very impressed with Dr. Greene. He is compasionate and thorough. I used Dr. Greene for my pre-op EGD and was happy and confidant in him. He has a structered before-and-after care program. He stresses over and over that the surgery is just a tool and not a fix all. You will have to work on the weight loss by diet and exersice. He goes over the risks and benefits of both procedures he performs, and helps you decide which procedure is right for you. I would highly recommend Dr. Greene to anyone looking for a bariatric surgeon.
My first impression of Dr. Greene was that I felt very comfortable talking to him and he is very open and honest about WLS.
Over time my trust in him was strengthened.
The office staff is very nice, patient and always there for you!
NOTHING!
He truly cares about each of his patients!
He is very strict with before and after care!
Yes
He is very thourough in his explanations of the risks of surgery and non-compliance.
I would give him an A+ number 1 !!
Dr. Greene has it all, great bedside manner, honesty, competence and a true concern for the well being and future of his patients!
He seemed he really knew what he was talking about ad put my wife and I at ease with his pure knowledge. He was also personable and seemed to really care. It was not an assembly line atmosphere, which is what I expected. His office staff was very friendly and courteous. They seem to really care about you.
Dr. greene addressed all the issues with the surgery including the aftercare. He put the risks straight out ad has a monthly support group that is great to get all the info. It is a must go! I went twice and may go one more time just before the surgery, we'll see.
I really didn't have any negative experience, except having to wait in the office for about two hours for a five minute appointment. But they said the waits can be long at times, so I kinda expected it. But that was only one appointment. The other two, I was in and out relitively quick. Also, if he was behind, it was because he was at the hospital with patients. And I can expect the same when I am in the hospital.
Dr. Greene is a brilliant surgeon.
My first impression of him was that he is direct, courteous and very professional. The only thing that changed over the 4 months since I first met him is that I now know he is a brilliant surgeon and a genuinely caring physician to his patients. AFter my surgery, when I was beginning to wake up in the recovery room, his face was the first I saw and he was adamant for the hour after to continually ask if I was comfortable and insist the nurse give me whatever I needed to be comfortable. He is just an excellent physician.
The office staff is very professional and very personable. Although, they were very short-handed and when I would call and leave a message for a question to be answered, I often had to call again to resubmit the request before it was attended to. But, I know it wasn't the people, just that they were short-staffed.
Before, during and after care is emphasized from your first visit and throughout. They have a very structured after-care program that is basically self-instructed, but they give excellent packets with all the information and reviews the packets with each ongoing visit. He gives you the ultimate decision of doing what YOU need to do to heal correctly and stay out of trouble...which is exactly what I agree with.
I chose gastric by-pass as opposted to the band right off, but everytime I've ever gone into the office prior to surgery, he's challenged me with questions about why I can't settle for the band instead of the GBP...he tells me of the higher risks and demands a logical reasoning for my choice. He challenges your thought processes to make sure YOU are making the right choice for YOU!
Over all, on a scale of 1 - 10, I'd rate Dr. Greene a 12 as a surgeon/physician and a 12 as a genuinely caring person.
His surgical competence and bedside manner went hand-in-hand and has convinced me, without a doubt, that choosing him as my surgeon was the best decision I've ever made.
The only thing I would recommend is having a Patient Coordinator to deal solely with patients and their concerns, daily...even those just questioning the possiblity of surgery and to submit packets more than just once a week. Because they are short-staffed and use the bariatric nurse as the coordinator, she is only available certain times to answer questions and you usually have to call several time.
Otherwise, my experience has been priceless.
My surgery was actually performed by another surgeon, who misdiagnosed a post-op complication of mine. He also could not help me when I told him how bad I was feeling all around. Because of this I got very sick. I called Dr. Greene's office and he saw me right away. He changed almost everything the first doctor had me on. Within one week I was 80% better and by the end of the second week I was 100% GREAT! Dr. Greene has accepted me as his patient for my post-op care and I am very happy with him. If you don't know most doctors will not accept patients of other doctors because the types of surgery and procedures are so different. Dr. Greene really cares about people. His staff are also TOPS. They made me feel very comfortable. Anyone in Maryland should definately go see Dr. Barry Greene in Rockville.
very professional, listened to my concerns, and had a great "move forward" attitude. He is extremely caring, and devoted to his craft. . . . never made me feel uncomfortable. Excellent surgeon, and I had a great experience over all. He is very busy, so you had to wait in the office for a while, but once you saw him, he didn't hurry you out. Pre and after care is a must. . he is a very cautious Doctor, which only helped me get through it with no complications. Very honest about the surgery, what it would and wouldn't do for me, and was straight forward about what I needed to do to make this a success.
I would give him a 10+ and I think he is a plesant blend of all the important factors needed to be a great surgeon!
My first impression of Dr. Greene was that he is a very smart man that is serious about his work. His office staff is very helpful in providing assistance throughout the entire process. They are good at returning phones calls and e-mails:) Dr. Greene has a structured plan that I appreciate now and I know I will also appreciate post-op. His support groups are an excellent way for anyone to become knowledgeable about the surgery and all of it's risks. I am very pleased with Dr. Greene and would recommend him to anyone.
Dr DiMarco did my LAP RYN on 5/16/00. Unfortunality my ByPass failed for what ever reason and I am now going to Dr Barry Greene to pursue a revision. At this point I have only spoken with Dr Greene's staff and I will meet with him on January 22nd at which time I will update. I can say that the staff I have been in contact with up to this point have been OUT OF THIS WORLD!! Thumbs up so far!
My first impression of Dr. Greene was that he is very serious. He didn't smile a whole lot, he was very straight and to the point. He gave me the goods and the bads of the surgery. I think that Dr. Greene is concerned with doing the gastric bypass surgery on me because of my paralysis so he wanted me to consider the lap band. Right then he crushed my heart as if he were my daddy telling me no. At any rate I know that he is just being cautios. But I know what I want. He doesn't seem to be very personable butthat may be because he has a lot of patients so he has to move quick.
