Dr. Ahmad was easy to talk too, listened, and made it easier to feel comfortable. My impression over time changed for the better by his thorough exams and request for evaluations. His staff was easy to speak to and available. Patients should know that they can trust Dr. Ahmad, he is kind, courteous, and best of all well rounded in his profession. He stresses your aftercare to the highest extent. He has a nutritionist on staff who will meet with you and explain his recommended diet to you. The risks of surgery were discussed several times as well as my choices. I would recommend Dr. Ahmad to everyone, so much that my father's uses him as well. I rate him with a 10 from a 1-10 scale. He is fully competent with great bedside manner.

Well what can I say...I was the last of the "3"..my sister had it first, then my daughter, then me...by the time it was my turn...I knew Dr. Ahmad very well.....my very first impression of him when I went with my sister for one of her office visits was that this is the man who is going to help us..he was humble and compassionate and very easy to talk to..I have never felt like I was talked down to..he was always informative and willing to answer all of my questions...and there were many..by the time my surgery was done... I had a pretty good idea what I was in for..going through it with my sister and my daughter...my feelings for him have changed over time...only getting better and more confident in him. There has not ever been a moment that I felt any thing negative about him...(even though he made me cry once....if you read this Dr. Ahmad..you know I forgive you...although it wasn't funny at the time..you only had my best interest at heart...now I can laugh about it).I tell everybody about him,,,and would recommend anybody to him...His office and staff are run in the utmost of professionalism. I look forward to my visits with him...the whole proceedure from the beginning to the after care and the support groups have been a inspiring experience and a supportive one also..His competence and his impeccable personality made this journey for me a very easy one...if I had to do it again, I would with out a moments hesitation..Thank you Dr. Ahmad for saving my life.....you truly are a wonderful person.

From the first moment I met Dr. Ahmad I felt at ease and comfortable, especially being in such an uncomforable situation.Weight was always an issue my whole life, and he didnt make me feel shameful or embarrassed as I had in the past. He explained every aspect of the surgery, good points and risks and was very straight foward, but was very kind the whole time. Through the pre op process, he was wonderful, through the actual surgery, he was an angel, and now as I go to my follow up visits, he is an inspiration.I feel like we have a real relationship, I am a person to him, not just a chart, or medical record. Thank you for saving my life!

My 1st impression was that i felt incredibly confortable, he was open, honest and had a wonderful personality. He explained the surgery, aftercare and risks in great detail. He gladly accepted and answered questions. The office staff was welcoming. I was nervous, of course about the surgery, even more so because i was the first one Dr. Ahmad performed in Mather Hospital. Everyone took such great care of me..they were excellent!! Very attentive to me and my needs..

MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF DR. AHMAD WAS THAT HE WAS A TRULY COMPASSIONATE, SKILLED DOCTOR. I FELT AT EASE WITH HIM RIGHT AWAY. AFTER MEETING HIM, I KNEW MY PERSUIT FOR THE RIGHT SURGEON WAS OVER. OVER TIME, MY FIRST IMPRESSION WAS REINFORCED AND MORE SO. DR. AHMAD WAS VERY THOROUGH AND MADE SURE I WAS COMPLETELY READY FOR MY SURGERY. HE ALWAYS STRESSED THE IMPORTANCE OF PRE SURGICAL TESTING AND ALSO BEING PYSCHOLOGICALLY READY. HE ALSO AIDED ME IN WINNING A LONG BATTLE WITH MY NICOTINE ADDICTION. DR. AHMAD INFORMED ME EARLY ON THERE WOULD BE NO SURGERY IF I REMAINED A SMOKER. HE WAS TOUGH AND EXPECTED ME TO QUIT SMOKING AND LOSE SOME WEIGHT PRIOR TO ANY SURGERY DATE EVEN BEING SET. I TRULY CAN'T SAY THERE IS ANYTHING I DON'T LIKE ABOUT DR. AHMAD. (NO SUGAR COATING INTENDED). FUTURE PATIENTS SHOULD KNOW DR. AHMAD IS A WONDERFUL SURGEON AND PERSON. HE WAS ALWAYS THERE FOR ME, I FEEL HE TRULY CARES FOR HIS PATIENT'S OUTCOME. DR. AHMAD DID EMPASIZE AFTER CARE. HE SAW ME DAILY IN THE HOSPITAL AFTER MY SURGERY AND MADE MY FOLLOW UP APPOINTMET FOR 8 DAYS AFTER MY SUGERY AND WAS TO SEE ME BACK IN ANOTHER WEEK AFTER A GOOD CHECK UP. HE REMINDED ME TO FOLLOW THE PROPER WAY TO EAT ACCORDINGLY, TO TAKE MY SUPPLEMENTS AND MEDICATIONS AND TO KEEP MOVING. I BELIEVE HE DOES HAVE A STRUCTURED AFTERCARE PROGRAM. HIS OFFICE OFFERS SUPPORTS GROUPS AS WELL AS EASY ACCESS TO HIM AND HIS STAFF/OFFICE. I AM IN THE EARLY STAGES OF HIS AFTERCARE PROGRAM. DR. AHMAD AND HIS STAFF INFORMED ME OF ALL RISKS RIGHT FROM THE BEGINNING AND LET ME KNOW ALONG THAT THIS SURGERY IS NOT FOR EVERYONE AND SHOULDN'T BE A DECISION THAT IS MADE LIGHTLY. THE SURGERY WOULD MEAN A WHOLE NEW WAY OF LIFE PRACTICALLY. THE PHYSICAL RISKS WERE TOLD ME AND LITERALLY SPELLED OUT TO ME AND EVEN DRAWN AS DIAGRAM BY DR. AHMAD HIMSELF. I WOULD RATE HIM HIGH ON ANY SCALE AND WOULD RECOMMEND HIM TO MY CLOSEST RELATIVE IF NEED BE. DR. AHMAD'S SURGICAL COMPETENCE AND BEDSIDE MANNYER WERE BOTH GREAT. I RESEARCHED HIS SURGICAL COMPETENCEY AND THEN AFTER I FINALLY GOT TO MEET HIM, AS I SAID EARLIER, I WAS COMPLETELY AT EASE. HE HAS A WARM, CARING MANNER. YOU CAN READ THE CONCERN IN HIS EYES AS HE SPEAKS TO YOU. I AM VERY GRATEFUL TO HAVE HAD DR. AHMAD AS PART OF SUCH AN IMPORTANCE, HUGE DECISION AND CHANGE IN MY LIFE.

He was very kind and supportive. I liked the fact that he was so thorough even if it delayed getting the surgery. I believe his surgical competence and bedside manner are good. He is soft spoken and puts you at ease. At this time he is forming a new office with new staff which may make the transition difficult. My surgery was done at a different hospital than the one he's in now. This hospital is very good as well so that isn't a problem. So, at this time he is still organizing what he wants to have ie; structure of support group.

Dr. Ahmad treats you like he has known you your whole life. He gives off this warm caring vibe, that just puts you at ease. Every one I have had contact with at Stony Brook regarding my surgery has been great, (especially Genie{Jeanie?}she does the pre auths)

My fist impression was oh G-D, is this man really going to help me or kill me. After I spoke with him on the second meeting I had felt so comfortable like I knew him all my life. He didn't rush you or shrug you off. He was very patient and didn't push for answers until you were ready. I would describe his staff as very friendly and helpful. Lisa was reassuring me all the time and took the time to ask if everything was alright and how I felt. Barbara also is very nice but, her personality is like a fish who don't smile. Lisa is my favorite, More of an outgoing personality. There wasn't anything I didn't like about them. Dr. Ahmad is a charming man who cares about his patients and gets to know you on a first name basis. He sees you in the office and does not need your chart to know your name which I thought was very personal on his part. He is always emphasizing how important after care is. Makes sure everything is fine and asks a lot of question on how you feel and how your doing. EXCERISE is his motto, always telling me how important it is to excerise and eat right. He and his staff explained how dangerous it can be and that sometimes death does occur. Would not do the surgery until he met a member of my family which in my case was my daughter, and he explained to her everything he was going to do. I would rate him very highly. I love his smile and he is a very patient man. You can has him anything and he always knows what to say. Makes you feel very at ease with something I have battled all my life and didn't feel embrassed with him. I think both bedside and surgical are both important aspects. He has a great bedside manner and doesn't rush through anything. I would recommend him highly. I lived with heartburn due to acid reflux for over 7 years and I thank Dr. Ahmad for Giving Me My Life back. Without him, I would probably be dead. I done it for the medical side of my health. I thank you and my family Thank you, Dr Ahmad. Your a great guy, and very professional in your work.
