Antonio Williams Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

My first impression is Dr. Williams was very knowledgeable and upfront. My impression has not changed of him. He is a very busy surgeon. The office staff is wonderful. I love Stacey one of his nurses. There is nothing I really dislike about Dr. Williams, but if you require hand holding, he is not the doctor for you. You will only see him twice after the surgery unless complications arise. He is upfront and busy. He is a surgeon first and only. Not a PCP, don't expect for him to hand-hold you. He will reassure you, but he will not baby you. He does emphasize you attend his monthly support group meetings which are led by him. Overall, I loved him and would chose him all over again for any surgery. He is a good surgeon.
I would like to add that I may have said earlier that Doc Williams does not have good aftercare or bedside manners. I still hold to that (lol), but I must say as I said earlier he does stress attending his support group meetings. Since I have started to attend, I will say they are very IMPORTANT. You do get support and inspiration there. So, I will say to anyone using or considering him, please go to his support group meetings. You will meet a lot of nice people and Doc Williams answers questions. It is a good learning experience. So with that said...I will stick with I feel he is a GREAT surgeon and I plan to use him in the near future to have a tumor removed.

My first impression of Dr. Williams is that he was very knowlegable about the different types of weight loss procedures. His office staff was very professonal. Dr. Williams was very funny he didn't sugar coat anything and I like that (don't tell me what I want to hear tell me the facts. Dr. Williams is that way.)

I believe Dr. Williams is a good surgeon. He did my husband's gastric bypass surgery 1-1/2 years ago. However, I believe that his staff can be somewhat unprofessional at times. Dr. Williams is a very blunt speaking person. He addressed the risks of the surgery very well. He does not do a very good job at having follow-up visits with his patients- He just suggests that you follow up with your PCP for blood work etc. He will make sure your wound site is healed though. Surgical competence is his strong point-not bedside manner. I was confident in him as a DOC because 3 of my friends and my husband used him as their gastric bypass surgeon.

He has very little bed-side manner.
He is a good doctor, just needs to be a little nicer to his patients.
They are pretty helpful.
