Anthony Gonzalez Bariatric Surgeon M.D.,F.A.C.S.
Anthony Gonzalez is a great doctor. So is the team (Rabaza and Verdeja). I have been through a great journey with this doctor and Dr. Rabaza too, who has had to deal with some of my complications. I have been in the hospital several times with complications and Dr. Gonzalez has always been there for me. I have such trust in the man, I know that I will be okay as long as I am in his care.
He is very personable and nice. The staff is wonderful too. And Ketty is a dear.
Well my first impression of Dr,Gonzalez...was so so,He was very straigt foward, right to the point, He sound very proffesional from day one...but too serious about everything and that made me feel uncomfortable...I need some support you know!! But the day of the surgery he was awesome, get there early promised me that he will take of me and did his best, and he definetely did!!! I must said that i couldn't have a better surgeon, quick and sharp and did a wonderfull job...God Bless Dr.Gonzalez and all his staff.I had Dr. Rabaza visited me and taking care of me during the hospital stay and he was excellent too!The only thing that is really bad is the waiting at the office they're so busy and you can go there in a rush... =0(
Doctor Anthony Gonzalez is a chrismatic individual in his presentations. When you do finally meet him it is well worth the wait. I've Heard very good things about him and I was refered to him by my borther Dr. Michael Diaz who is a pastic surgeon himself and know Dr Gonzalez personally.
His staff does take care of the insurnace and all the paperwork and they are very honest regarding what your particular insurance company may be requiring at the moment. Carmen and Mora are excellent.
Dr Gonzalez was extremely blunt and honest concerning the complications that can arise from this operation and in fact I think maybe a little over the top but he wants you to be certain that this is not a magic bullet.
Dr. Gonzalez does not have a warm bedside manner but his professionalism out weights that aspect for me. The one thing I did regret is not having a pre op appointment to ask him some final questions after I had my date. I understand that his office is busy but I think it would put a lot of patients at ease to ask his opertive procedures and what to expect right after.
He is very knowledgable. Very caring and understanding. He's very patient and hears you out. Answers all questions properly and easy to understand.
Office staff is very nice, they are very warm and also very understanding.
He's very forward and open as to the Good and the Bad about the surgery.
His aftercare consist of seeing him 1 week after surgery. Then at 3 month, 6 month and finally at your 1 year Anniversary.
He tells you very detailed the Pro's and Con's regarding the surgery. He walked me step by step on what I should expect and what will happen.
Overall he's FANTASTIC.

The Miami Hope Center Staff is great. They are all very helpful and they treat you nice. Dr. Gonzalez is very nice and up front about everything that you might need or go through. He is a very good listener. He will answer all your questions. He addresses the risks of surgery very much into detail. he knows very well, what you want to hear and know about. When i told him about a fee that a psy was charging for an evaluation and how ridiculous it was he recommended other psy and he was so nice in agreeing that it was too much what they were asking for. He makes you feel comfortable. He is not like those doctors that just ramble on and talk. He asks you questions and lets you express yourself. I give him a 9 1/2 out of 10. We will see after surgery how good he is in keeping up with his patients!
I was recommended by my primary physician to speak with Dr. Gonzalez and from the moment I spoke with him I knew that I liked him. He was honest and upfront about the pro's and con's of the surgery. His office staff is wonderful I was calling them alot while waiting for the insurance to approve and they were always very helpful and assuring to me. I have recommended several of my friends to him but unfortunately he is so busy that they were told he didn't have any appointments until July of this year. If he would not have been my surgeon I don't think I would have had this surgery. To me surgical competence is the most important.
