Andrew Bright Bariatric Surgeon M.D.
Dr. Bright was a sweetie, he looked so young, but was truly sincere. I still feel the same about him, he is just as excited about the surgery and the results as I am. I would recomend him to anyone, infact I have.
Dr. Bright was very upfront about the risks of surgery, he let you know that there could be complications. He did not let you go into surgery blind. He didn't down-play the risks.
Dr. Bright has a very strick after care program. You are assigned a nutritionists and you meet w/her the same day you meet with him. There is a eating plan for the 1st 2 wks and then one for the next 8wks and then one for the next 6 months ad then for the future. He also had a doctor visit plan, 2 wks, 3 mnths, 6 mnths, 1 yr, and so on. He really cares about you and monitors your progress carefully.
His surgical competence was apparently great, since I am alive and healthy. His bedside mannor is exemplory, he never leaves without you feeling he was 100% focused on you.
My impression of Dr Bright is that he is well informed and well educated. Having lived in the Spokane area for many years, I have had a lot of contact with the medical group he is with and all the staff were very nice.My impression has not changed since first meeting him, I still think he is very intelligient regarding Gastric By-pass. He is very to the point on everything regarding before and after surgery issues. There is an onsite nutritionist. I would recommend any of the surgeons in the surgical group, especially if they are like Dr. Bright.
I first met Dr. Bright in April of this year (2004) for my initial consultation. He was very informative and very willing to spend the time with me to be sure that I understood the procedure and what it would mean in the terms of lifestyle changes. My first impression was that he seemed really young. My second impression was that he is really knowledgeable. He answered all my questions as well as questions from my family.
I have never met Dr. Bright, but I did have the opportunity to listen to Dr. Rawlins at our support group. I think these two physicians really have their thumb on the pulse of WLS and its trends. They are ultra conservative in their post-op care. They are genuinely concerned for their patients and truly want to see success. I wish I could have been a patient of theirs. I think if anyone is considering this surgery, that their practice is the premier practice in the region! Highly skilled and VERY knowledgeable.
Dr. Bright was very good. He listens to what you have to say and is very concerned. He has a good sense of humor and will work with you. He understands it is hard - and cares how you are doing. I do not care for his dietian- she is not very helpful. Most of the office staff are wonderful. I live out of town - and always brought a copy of my lab reports - as the office seems to loose them or can't find them when you have your appointment.
Dr. Bright explained the risks of the surgery- and the risks of having the extra weight. He was very helpful. His bedside manner was wonderful and he was very patient with my family members and all their questions. I consider him the best surgeon I have had. His surgical competence was super - and his care for me after the surgery was excellent. I saw him a year after the surgery - and he wanted the dietian to call me at home for follow-up. That never happened. She doesn't follow through.
My overall experience with Dr. Bright was great and I would recommend him to anyone considering this surgery.
Dr. Bright looked so young in the photo, I was a little nervous, but when I met him, I I was impressed with his knowlege and compassion. We spent a long time discussing the laparoscopic procedure, and he made sure I understood what it means to have this surgery and how it is going to change my life. I appreciated his willingness to answer every question I had and asking me questions as well. He has a very knowledgeable and compassionate staff, one member who had this surgery a year or so ago, and she was very helpful in helping me understand what this surgery can do for me. She was full of helpful info and insight into the experience. There also is a nutritionist on staff to help me find out the best nutrition for my needs. Everyone seems very nice and enthusiastic about the procedure.
Once the surgery was done, the after care was wonderful.
Dr. Bright was very nice, and very informative. He was very through, and explained everything. His staff was very nice. Carol his nurse is wonderful. She showed us her before picture and after and it is absolutely amazing. I requested Dr. Bright because I had some conversations with several different nurses and medical people in town, and they were the ones who convinced me to get him for the surgery. I also have a family freind whose son had Dr. Bright for the surgery. It has been 1-1/2 years for him and he looks wonderful.
I am very excited about the surgery and look forward to having it over and done, so I too can be a more active person, and not puff and find myself exhausted walking somewhere.
