I liked Dr Brader immediately. He appeared to be warm and caring as well as professional and knowledgeable. I also felt he was very approachable and easy to talk to. did not intimidate or talk down to you and was confident but not on a power trip, Clearly he loved what he was doing. This impression only got better and better with time. rnOverall the staff was excellent. Had a few issues with those handling insurance issues, but this was in part probably due to my own impatience to have the surgery and frustration at the hoops the insurance company put me through. rnI honestly can't say I found anything I disliked about this doctor. This was one of the single most positive experiences with a doctot that I have ever had. As an RN who had worked in the operating room I felt completely confident about the skills and experience of this surgeon. I believe it was his experince and skill that gave me such a great post-op result. In addition I believe that these two things also made it more likely that I was able to have the procedure done laparascopically, especeially since I had adhesions from previous surgeries. He even took extra time to clear the adhesions around the liver that were not absolutely a necessary part of the WLS. I greatly appreciate thus extra care and skill.rnHe and his staff were extremely supportive both before and after the surgery. I had the benefit of a very well structered program. I couldn't have asked for more.rnHe was very thourough and honest in discussing both the risks and plusses and minuses of the surgery as well as what was expected on the part of the patient. I felt we had a great partnership. rnI would give him a superior rating. I am extremely pleased with every aspect of my care. There is nothing more I could ask for.rnIf I had to choose between surgical competence and bedside manner, I would choose surgical competence. As an OR nurse I have seen that some of the best surgeons fall short on bedside manner, and I feel skill is the more important factor in determining post operative outcome and complication rates. However as a medical professional I am somewhat less dpendent on a doctors bedside manner for support than the average person would be. That being said, I was extremely fortunate in this case not to have had to make this choice. I got both superior surgical competence and bedside manner in one person.

My first impression of Dr Brader was that he new his stuff. He gave a very informative seminar on RNY and Lap Band, after the seminar I met with Dr Brader and found him to be very personable, great bedside manner, very informative and very much a patient avocate, he is all for what is best for his patients. Dr Braders experience speaks for its self, he does 10 to 15 RNY weekly and that is all he does. To me experience was a very important part of picking a doctor, I wanted someone that had experience and knew what he was doing. rnThe Barix Clinic in Langhorne Pa is where I had my surgery and their follow care is for a life time, the dietician is only a phone call away. You meet many times before and after surgery to make sure you know what you are doing and how to do it (your diet that is). All your Pre Admission testing was handled right there in the Clinic and along with counciling from nursing, dietician & respiratory. There are support groups that meet there at the clinic every month. rnThe one other thing they did that was awsome was they got all the approvals from my insurance company, the only thing I had to do was ask my primary care for referrals.rnrnNow on a more negative note the only thing I would complain about is that for 2 days in the hospital I felt tormented, sleep deprived. not to mention you don't feel real great right after surgery. They give me pain medication when I asked, and a antiamedics which was for nausea and also make you tired and then made me get up out of bed, every 1 1/2 to 2 hours and walk, now I understand how important it is to get out of bed but all night long I felt I needed time to sleep so that I would get better. I am not kidding when I tell you I was sleep deprived when I got home. rnrnAll and All the whole experience was pretty good and I know I feel great now, 4 days post op. Thanks Dr Brader you were great... rnI can't believe Dr Brader is no longer with Barix Clinic. I saw him on 6/20/07 for my six week check up and they terminated his contract on 6/23/07. I thought Barix would be my clinic for the rest of my life. Needless to say they are not going to be, they state on their web site follow up on 3,6,9 months and 1 year now that is all changing. False advertisement if you ask me. DR BRADER WHERE DID YOU GO.......................

My first impression was that he was confident in his knowledge of the operation, the program to be followed in the aftermath, and the longtime success of the patient if they follow their program. What I liked best about Dr. Brader is that he answered all my questions thoroughly and with compassion, even when I repeated myself with uncertainty. He even drew diagrams for me to help me understand the procedure better. I needed that type of attention to feel comfortable. His emphasis on aftercare was very great. He believes that if you do what you are supposed to do with your new tool, you will be successful and remain successful. My overall rating of Dr. Brader on a scale of 1-10 would be a 10. I couldn't have asked for a better doctor or experience.

I must say, Lancaster General could not have found a finer medical director for their new weight management program. Dr. Brader we are glad to see you are back!!!! For those of you who are looking at Dr. Brader for gastric bypass surgery, he is the epitome of a doctor and I can't think of anyone better to be with a patient through such a journey. He's straight and to the point and tells it how it is. He let's you know that the surgery is what you make of it and it's a second chance. There won't be a third. And that exercise is key! He also explains what you & yoru family will experience, what you all will gain in your life and what you all will lose. He covers all avenues from the physical, to the exercise, to the emotional. I was shocked when I had a question and he called me right back, not a nurse or a receptionist. He is personally invested in each and every patient and will assist in what ever he can do to make you a success with your weight loss. When I needed my gall bladder out, he said, \"So when do you want it done?\" Didn't refer me out to a general surgeon. He's with you every step of the way and you just are an ID number with him.

Dr. Brader did my surgery almost 2 years ago. I think he is one of the best doctors out there and not just in terms of bariatric surgery. The Barix Clinic should be sorry to have lost him. He literally cared about the well being of his patients and that is rare. Great bedside manner, talked to you and not at you - I miss having him as my doctor at the clinic. If I had to rate him from 1-10 he would be a million! Thanks Dr. Brader and I hope to be able to locate you were ever you are.
