Courtney Culbreath Bariatric Surgeon MD

Dr. Courtney Culbreath is a specialty care physician board certified in general surgery at Inova Health System. She joined Inova through a general surgery residency in 2016 and has been practicing since 2016. Dr. Culbreath is committed to helping her patients achieve longer, healthier lives through long-term weight loss. She specializes in minimally invasive and robotic bariatric surgery, endobariatrics, and general surgery. Dr. Culbreath is originally from Huntsville, AL. She went to college at Lee University in Cleveland, TN, where she spent her free time playing collegiate volleyball, ran a free medical clinic and participated in medical missions to Guatemala. She was honored with the Departmental Award for Science and Math upon graduation. She then returned to Alabama to attend medical school at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, where she continued her passion for increasing medical access among underserved populations. Upon graduation, she moved to Northern Virginia and completed a surgical residency at Inova Fairfax Hospital and a bariatric surgery fellowship at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital. Outside the office, Dr. Culbreath enjoys supporting Alabama football, visiting breweries, and spending time with her Aussiedoodle, Lori, and her husband, Tyler.
