Charles M. Ferguson Bariatric Surgeon MD, FACS

Not sure this is the same surgeon. My Dr Ferguson came from Massachusetts to Lagrange, GA in 2010 . Great surgeon and very pleasant. Wished there had been more information given regarding much of what I have learned on OH, but overall happy so far.

I first met with Dr. Ferguson in Columbus Ga at one of his lap band seminars. he was very informative and I knew he would be the right surgeon for me. My second consult was held at his office in Lagrange, Ga.. He and his staff (BRidgett) was remarkable. They made me feel good about the process. I am awaiting approval and they way that Bridgett is handling all required documents. I do expect speedy approval. Just have to wait and see. Overall,I am very pleased to be in DR. Fergusons care.

Dr. Ferguson was wonderful. I hate that he is retiring in a few weeks and I will not get a chance to follow up with him. He is extremely knowledgeable, personable, and professional.

My first impression of Dr. Charles Ferguson was a calm, confident, gentle surgeon with compassion. My impression has not changed one iota. I love the staff at the MGH - Weight Center, honestly, if it gets better than that I'd like to see it. Aftercare is extremely structured and mandatory. There is nothing I didn't like about Dr. Ferguson.rnrnDr. Ferguson knew how badly I wanted this surgery done laproscopically but knowing my surgery history on my abdomen of course he could only say he could do the best he could. Well he sure did! As tough as it was to get through the scar tissue, he succeeded. I honestly have had minimal pain from all of this. No complications from surgery at all. I was extremely high risk for Dr. Ferguson and we both were more than aware of that going into this. But he said he would do his best and I sent the angels in with him. They were a heck of a team! Thank you Dr. Ferguson your hands are golden! And thank you more for giving me my life back.

I absolutely adore Dr. Ferguson. He is a wonderful, friendly, kind, funny man. Not to mention an amazingly skilled surgeon. He was all over the local press for a while this year because of a high-profile lawsuit, which was going on during the time of my presurgical process, which resulted in some postponements in my surgery. This caused me some frustration, but it never caused me to doubt his abilities, and thankfully (and justly) he prevailed in the courtroom. rnrnI sailed through surgery thanks to his skill and I'm so grateful to him that I'm on the other side of this process and can now start my new life!rnrnSince he also represents the MGH Weight Center here, I'll mention that as well. As a weight management center, they are superb. They offer top-notch medical care there. I highly recommend them. Not only do they have the best in their fields working there, they are on the cutting edge of obesity research thanks to their leader, Dr. Lee Kaplan. They are simply the best. rnrnAs a medical office, they leave much to be desired. I, and many people I have talked to, have had many difficulties with office staff: Rudeness, unreturned phone calls, scheduling problems, billing issues, etc. They just don't seem very competent. That being said, I wouldn't let that stop me from going there. I go there for medical care, and I'm not going to get better care elsewhere. Their program is simply the best around. The other stuff is frustrating and dampens the experience somewhat, but I had the best surgeon one could have and excellent care so I've done with griping. Hopefully they'll straighten out those snags and make the experience there more pleasant and a little less frustrating. The positives by far outweigh the negatives.rnrnSo there it is, the good and the bad. Definitely don't let the bad scare you off. It seems frustrating at the time, but anything you have to put up with is so worth it for the security of knowing that you have the best medical minds and surgical hands caring for you. I highly recommend both Dr. Ferguson and the MGH Weight Center.rn

I met with Dr. Ferguson and he was very thorough, very up front, and didn't mind my million questions. He drew out what he will be doing to my body and spoke in terms i understood. He explained the benefits of the surgery and also the risks. I learned a lot from him and i feel quite confident in him. He didn't give me a certain abount of weight I HAD to lose but told be he'd like me to lose as much as i can so he can get behind my liver easier. Im starting to get excited about this and thinking wow this is really going to happen :)

I left our first meeting thinking he may be a bit stodgy, but very confident and matter-of-fact in his discussion of the procedure.rnrnI now know he is actually a pretty funny guy and deservingly confident because of his successes with RNY. I really love this surgeon. rnrnA stuctured aftercare is HUGE at MGH...they're certainly not a drive-thru clinic. The support is wonderful and they will work with you regarding any problems or struggles you may be facing.

Dr. Ferguson (MGH Weight Center)is wonderful. Intelligent, highly skilled at his profession. He is easy to talk and explains everything in detail. Answers all questions with patience.

The office staff is great. That was one of the big reasons I felt so comfortable going there. The office is very organized and you never feel like you have to keep on top of everything for fear its not being done!

So far so good. I only met him one time, but he seemed very personable and professional. He knows his stuff and doesn't pull any punches. Honesty...who knew?
The staff at the MGH Weight Center are absolutley wonderful. I can't say enough about them. They are all fantastic!
