Weight No More Surgical Clinic Bariatric Center
This man is a great one and can help if you do as he tells you and life will be so much better for you. This is a life change for all that do it right and make it a better life for them self.
Dr. Weber is very professional, warm, and personable. He always remembers me and my status, he even remembers my kids! His office is very comfortable. He is very informative, he goes through each step one at a time. He is a wonderful doctor/surgeon.rnrnI did however have complications that were out of his hands and I required an emergency surgery three days after my roux-en-y. He was there and ready, offering my husband and myself all the comfort possible at such a scary time. He is very impressive.
Dr. Weber is one of the nicest and most humbling doctors that I have encountered. He is one of no nonsense and that helped out a great deal for me. My first impression of him was that he was just like all the others but after his seminar and meeting with him personally for my first appointment, my impression of him immediately changed. I instantly felt comfortable with him and that I had found my ideal surgeon. The office staff is great. Dr. Weber gives you great detail in his descriptions of what any of the weight loss surgeries are about and how he handles them, complete with pictures. He also gives you chapters of his unpublished book that he encourages you to use as a guideline to follow throughout your after care. He is accessible through his website and email for any questions that I may have. He is very concerned about his patients and wants to ensure that you have the best possible outcome. He addresses everything from the surgery, hospital care, your responsibilities as a patient, and what things to look for after surgery. He is very thorough and leaves no stone unturned. He educates you very well before and after surgery. He can be very strick if you are not following your guidelines and meal plans though. He can turn into a disciplinarian in that case, but for some it may be necessary. His bedside manner is wonderful and he is very competent. I had no worries going into my surgery at all and I would recommend him to anyone.
At first, I thought Dr Jim to be terrific. I was impressed with the way in which he communicated with, his sense of humor & his knowledge of the surgery.rnrnHere I am, almost 10 years later and am wishing that I had never met Dr. Weber. rnrnFor years, I've been having issues with food & even liquids. For all these years (my surgery was 9/2/1998) I believed that it was just one of the \"side effects\" of bariatric surgery. rnrnI began complaining to my family practice physician about what was going on with me \"physically\". Periods of days w/out holding ANYTHING down, lack of engery, etc. My dr sent me to see a Gastroentolagist. I was notified on 9/25/06 by my GI that I no longer have a stomach.rnrnFriday (9/29/06) I got word from the University of WA hospital that my insurance will cover at least a consultation with the specialist at the UW.rnrnLooking on a web site for WA state courts, I input Dr. James K. Weber's name & discovered that are approximately 5 - 6 malpractice suites against him.rnrnI had originally gone to Dr Weber for a stomach stapling (back then, it was supposed to be one of the safer options for bariatric surgery, this was when the lap band surgery had just come into the scene). When I was taken out of Recovery, I can only remember Dr Weber telling me that \"something\" had gone wrong and he had to end up doing a gastric bypass. To this day, I can't tell you what went wrong. I had my chart from Dr Weber sent to my current physician & to the \"team\" of dr's who are trying to figure out what can be done. Dr Weber DID NOT include the information on WHY the surgery was changed.rnrnI URGE you ... beg of you ... PLEASE DO NOT CHOOSE DR. WEBER!!! My anatomy is totally screwed up, thanks to Dr Weber (or should I say \"BUTCHER WEBER\". rnrnThis latest information has really thrown me for a loop. For all of these years, I thought that I had a stomach pouch. Due to no pouch, my esophogas has been stretched and no longer constructs as it would in \"normal\" people. I also apparently have a \"stricture\". After THREE surgeries, you'd think he would've told me such important information. This is a nightmare. My life right now is something I'd expect to see on Maury or Oprah. Not once did I expect for my dr to mess me up so horribly. rnrnPLEASE HEAD IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION of Dr. James K Weber out of Edmonds/Seattle. There are plenty of competent surgeons out there. Please find another one. Check out this site: www.courts.wa.gov and see if there any malpractice suites against him. rnrnI'm on his recruiting video and want myself to DISAPPEAR from it.rnrn

'My first impression of Dr. webber was GREAT. I first met him at his seminar. He was VERY helpful and informative. I have only had one visit one on one with him but he is a very good listener. I belive and have heard that Dr. Webber is the best around. He requires ALOT of pre-op work and ALOT of excersise.rnThis is a good thing. I feel safe with Dr. Webber because I know he has my best interest at heart. If asked about anything negative about Dr.Webber there are only a couple of things
This will be lengthy - bear with me! :)
I first met Dr. Weber at one of his seminars in December 2005. My husband attended the seminar with me, and as nervous as he was about it all, he was really at ease after meeting and talking with Dr. Weber. My next appointment with him wasn't until February 21. I spent the time from the seminar until my initial appointment getting as much in order as I could - I had a physical, an abdominal ultrasound, a consult with a nutritionist, bloodwork done, met with a psychologist, etc. When I did see him in February, I had so much of the initial work done that I only had to have three additional labs drawn. I had those done and the results faxed to his office, and the office immediately put my paperwork through to my insurance company (Tricare). It was sent to Tricare on a Wednesday, and my approval was back by that Friday afternoon, two days later. I was able to have my pre-op appointment scheduled for March 14th, with the surgery taking place on March 17th. It moved along quickly, but since I was having so many gall bladder problems, I was already on a very low-fat diet - due to that, there wasn't anything holding me up for surgery. As far as time, I was a bit crunched for it - my husband was leaving for sea in early April, and I definitely wanted to have it done in time for me to recover some before he left.
Pre-op appointment was great - Dr. Weber was very thorough in explaining all of the risks to me again, answering any questions I had, etc. He's such a helpful, encouraging person...I left there feeling very comfortable with things. Considering I was undergoing *major* surgery in a few days, that was huge. The morning of surgery arrived, and I was definitely nervous. My surgery was delayed a bit due to Dr. Weber having another surgery ahead of me, but I was able to have my husband, my mother, and my daughters with me for most of the waiting time. Eventually it was time for me to see the anesthesiologist, and then I went into surgery.
After the surgery is where things got a little tricky. For those of you that have seen Dr. Weber for an appointment and received some of the chapters of his book, you've read about the four patients he had that had the anesthesia re-release into their bodies after surgery. Well, I was the fifth patient he had it happen to. It was a bit scary for awhile there...along with the anesthesia issue, I lost quite alot of blood during surgery - 450 cc's, to be exact. It was a few hours after surgery when I collapsed, and the hospital rapid response team was paged. I don't remember a whole lot about that night, but I do remember Dr. Weber being there to check on me and address the many concerns my husband and mother had. He was there to check on me each and every day of my 5 day hospital stay, and was always so encouraging. My stay was extended to 5 days due to having to have four blood transfusions. As much as a pain as a 5 day hospital stay is, I was relieved to have such a terrific, caring doctor who wouldn't release me until I was completely able to go home safely.
I'm now 5 weeks post-op, and down 37 pounds. I have my 6 week follow-up with Dr. Weber this coming week. I resumed my workouts this past week, and that has been great. He's definitely an exercise nazi, and his future patients need to know that. He expects alot of his patients - but for all of the right reasons. He cares about each and every one of his patients, as well as their families. While he might seem strict on exercise and diet before the surgery, and definitely after, he just wants to see his patients succeed. He gives us a great tool to help ourselves - but ultimately, it is up to us. If you're doing well, he's right there to cheer you on. And if you're not, I'm sure he'll be the first one to tell you what you're doing wrong, and get you on the right path.
Long story short...Dr. Weber is an amazing surgeon, and a wonderful person. I feel very grateful to have someone like him in my corner, and I highly, highly recommend him. His office staff is very nice and very on top of things, and they all work very well together to make sure that everything goes smoothly with visits, insurance referrals, etc. I am very, very pleased with Dr. Weber and his staff, and would recommend them to anyone!
Dr. Weber is the greatest doctor I have ever met. He truly cares about his patients and he knows us all by name. He isn't afraid to tell you the truth and to chew you out if you are not following his instructions. He jumps for joy and hugs you when you are doing the right things and losing weight. Future patients should know that if you are not willing to excercise you will not like Dr. Weber because he is better known as the exercise nazi. He knows what works and if you are lucky enought to become one of his weight loss family you will succeed in shedding those pounds forever.
From what I have been told by others Dr. Weber is the one that the military uses to our source its people, so when I get my approval, we shall see it its true .
Well I was wrong, I am being sent to Dr. Oelschlager :)
I have only talked to the nurse but she was very friendly and nice. I have has to call them several times, and each time they seem to be nice, they are always helpful.
As helpful as they were they were really bad about getting back to me and letting me know what was going on. My referrel was put in, in March and I stil have not been able to make an appointment. Too much jerking around for my tastes! This is just my experiance with the office, others have seemed to have had no problems at all.
Soooooooo, I have a new doctor, it's Dr.Weber. The nurse I talked to was very friendly and got me all set up for a group meeting on July 14th!!!!
From the minute I met Dr.Weber, I liked him! His open and honest ways were very comforting to me and he is upfront, and does not pull any pucnches, he expects a lot out of his patients and he expects you to abide by his rules I guess you would say. He came right out and told the group that if all you want is someone to do the surgery and send you on your way, he would get you names and numbers. He told us that if we went him him, he would be a part of our lives for the rest of our lives! He was open and honest about the risks and the dangers involved with surgery and the type of surgery itself and the fact that being fat and surgery can be well....not good let say. Besides my family he was one of my biggest cheerleaders! One night after surgery I was walking my laps like he wanted, and as I came around the corner there he was, he was thrilled to see me up and doing it on my own, he took my hand and he walked with me!!! I just can not say enough good things about him. When he says he wants you up and walking later in the day of surgery, he is not kidding, be prepared!!!! He has honestly, given me a second chance at a healthy and happier life with my adoring husband and the light of my life....my son.
