Valeriu E. Andrei MD Bariatric Associates Bariatric Center
I knew right away he was going to be a great doctor and he was, I dont reget walking into that office in august. What was so great about his office is that most of the people who worked there had weight loss surgery done by him. I meet him once a month for a fill & his staff checks in on me twice a week. Yes we have support groups meeting every 1st of the month for post op patients.
1st they explain everything about the surgery orally and then give us time to read the surgery paperwork to see ifthis is the right choice. From a 1 to 10 i give him a *****10*****. Both were great.
My wife works at St. Barnibus Hospital in Livingston,N.J. When it was time for my surgery which was done on Feb.4,2008 Dr Andrei was highly recommened to us. When I first met with him and his staff I felt totally confident I was making the right choice for the choice of having gastric bypass surgery.Dr. Andrei's staff are terrific and caring people. He and his staff are very thorough about discussing options for choice of surgery, what to expect, and follow up whith aftercare and nutrition. For me the support group meetings that Dr Andrei and his staff have are an important way to learn more about what to expect after surgery. I am learning how to eat much healthier and learned about eating behavioral habits that I had and never realized. To date I have lost 180lbs in 1year.I would strongly recommend Dr.Andrei and his staff for anyone considering weight loss surgery.I have to too many other people already and have told them that Dr.Andrei is the man you want to talk too!!! He's the best.
I met Dr. Andrei in 2000 when I was almost 400 pounds. He was very thorough in his pre-op assessment, ensuring every aspect of my health was addressed and considered. He explained everything in great detail and always took the time to answer my questions. I never felt rushed with him or his staff -- best bedside manner! My surgery was a success and I lost over 170 and felt great! In Oct. of 2008, after careful evaluation, it was determined I needed a Revision due to a severely ulcerated pouch. I feel this was due to my own lack of follow up. In November of '08, Dr. Andrei went over and above in rebuilding me a new system. He is an amazing surgeon and a very caring person. I thank God he is my doctor and I have complete faith and confidence in him and his staff. I am feeling great and this time around I will certainly be more diligent with follow up care and in attending his support groups. I would highly recommend him without any reservation whatsoever!
My awesome journey started on July 17th, 2006. I consider this date to be my new birthday, for it is the day I had Gastric Bypass Surgery with Dr. Valeriu Andrei, at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ. rnDr. Andrei proved to be kind, compassionate, and highly skilled. He told me \"I am very safe with your life\", and I needed to hear this. Dr. Andrei, must have sensed I was nervous, the morning of my surgery, for I remember him holding my hand, showing me again what a great heart he has.rnDr. Andrei took the time to answer any questions that I had, before and after surgery. He called me at home to see how I was feeling. He is truly a \"patient advocate\" and is very caring. His staff was very friendly, warm and respectful. I was very impressed by his support groups and follow up care which I greatly needed for my new journey, I never felt alone. The dietitian in the office, \"Pam\" was always so helpful with portion control and food related questions.
Dr Andrei is not only a great surgeon he is also a great person. I had my by pass done 7 years ago in Jan 2002. He was closer to my home before and now he is an hour and 1/2 away. He is worth waiting for (sometimes 2 hours the worst) but he takes his time and his follow up is the best! Anyone who works with him will see he is very complete in his before care and his aftercare. Any problems he or his staff is there to answer and address problems. The hardest thing sometimes is dealing with his busy schedule. He explains everything before and after-- still all these years later he wants to check on you. He really does care about his patients. I lost 125 lbs and have never been up or down more than 3 lbs. I had an ulcer and I can tell you he did not run to do a revision but waited to see if medication could take care of the ulcer. It has and he sees me every 6 months to make sure I am still on track. He has told me if I gain more than 5 lbs to all the office and he will get me in asap! He takes his time and I can tell you this- he has helped me live a better life.
Dr. Andrei is a great doctor! Extremely patient and understanding. Amazing that he calls patients himself to get information or just to see how you are doing. Even made sure I emailed him after leaving the hospital so he would know how I was doing.rnrnI would recommend him to anyone looking to have Bariatric Surgery... in fact, I already have!!!
I loved Dr Andrei since I first saw him! Hes a very professional person! My mother worked for him years ago before he switched hospitals. She insured me that he was the best! That he cared about his patients 100%. HIs staff is very professional and very very polite! Ive had nothing but an amazing experience with this surgeon and office!! I recommed him to every and anyone!!! I had a few recovery problems and he called me all the time!!! He visited my in the hospital every day to check up on me. What ever I needed he gave me! I loved this whole experience!! Thank you DR ANDREI!!!!!!!
Dr. Andrei and his staff are AMAZING. They helped me jump through hoops with my pcp & with everything else that needed to get done. I had a friend who had the Lap Band done by him a year ago and my sister had the RNY done with him as well 2 weeks prior. He remembers every patient. I had an issue one week post-op and I think he called me about 6 times in a 20 minute period to make sure I was en-route to the hospital immediately. I recommend him to ANYONE thinking about having the surgery. I drive about 75 mins to go to his office and it is well worth it !!!
I had my LAP RNY with Dr. Andrei 5 years ago (11/13/02). He is a very thorough and fully compassionate Dr. He keeps perfecting this surgery because now my husband is in the process with them for a hopefully Feb/08 surgery. He doesn't cut corners with anything and I was a brittle diabetic that wasn't stapled but hand sewn due to my morbid obesity. He took his time with me and the complications were NONE! Dr. Andrei remembers every patient he touches too! He still remembers many details of my surgery and we had a nice time last week (when my hubby had his consult) just remember how awful my condition was and how slender and muscular I am now with no diabetes, heel spur pains, sleep apnea, elevated liver enzymes, and a host of other disabilities that were a nightmare! My only regret is that I didn't do this sooner. rnrnI recommend Dr. Andrei so highly and my husband is next! His new location is a center of excellence! That means they take care of every aspect from pre -op to post-op care (they know how to care for you immediately post op with the staff there) complete with weight management, dietician consult sessions, continued support/seminars FOR LIFE! You are \"family\" with them! They will not leave you. Attend as many support group meetings and seminars they offer. They will always be there for your success.
