My first impression of Dr. Babineau was that he was younger, late 30's to early 40's. I don't really know the exact word to sum up his personality but he wasn't going on and on in the one on one meeting. All business I guess. My only time really talking with him was the one on one consultation and a very short visit before surgery, even then just business, he's not one to pat on you and tell you your going to be ok but I knew he was skilled and in good hands. When it comes down to it, I guess if I'm putting my life in someones hands I'd want it with someone that is into their business. Maybe he is just quiet. I don't like the fact that I don't have a follow up oppointment till my 6 weeks check-up, I think for a surgery that they even at the doctors office view as risky and such drastic changes in your lifestyle they would want to see you at least a 2 week follow up. I don't know any surgery you have that doesn't have a 2 week follow up, so for it not till be till 6 weeks is a little shocking! I'm only a week and 3 day post op and doing really well so I'd have to rate him as great. I was private pay so didn't have to deal with any office staff but they were all friendly
I had the surgery on December 11th. I couldn't be more happy with all that went on. Dr. Babineau and his staff were awesome and I am so glad he took me as a patient. I feel better more and more every day!
I had my surgery done in July, 2006 by Dr. Babineau in Tyler, Texas. It was totally laprascopic and I had no surgery complications whatsoever. I had reaction to general anesthesia which is normal for me, and I had to stay two extra days. Dr. B is awesome and so is his assistant Lisa. I would not have wanted anyone else to do my surgery...
Dr. Babineau was my surgeon. My first impression of him was \"Wow, cowboy boots w/ scrubs!!\" His office staff was very friendly, caring and took the time to answer any and all questions I may have had....regardless if they had already answered that question 15 times that day. All my surgical questions were answered and any fears were addressed. I don't feel that there is a high pressure type aftercare structure. Some basic guidelines are given. Surgical competence is great!!!! Bedside manner was a little on the hurried side.
We went to see another surgeon before Dr. Babineau and my husband was so turned off of this surgery that we didn't discuss for 6 months afterwards. Then I got him to come to Dr. Babineau's seminar and consult. Afterwards he was convinced that this was the correct surgeon and best choice for me. I was a little concerned at first, probably because I had so many things to say and didn't. I wanted a mind reader, and he's a skilled surgeon - not a magician. His staff is wonderful! Freda fought my insurance company on my behalf and won! His nurse Kathy is also great. She's been there to answer my questions and address my concerns with just a phone call. I would recommend Dr. Babineau and his office any day.
Dr. B & Nurse Freda are awesome! They are both know exactly what they are doing and can explain everything to you well. His informational meeting was great because he talked about it, drew pictures, and did have an object to look at as well so every learning type was covered! Any time I have ever needed anything it was covered and someone in his office was able to help and on top of things w very little wait time. Thank You to everyone because you all had a part!
He is wonderful. I had no problems. I had to go throught 1 year of weight loss before I could have the bypass. It was worth the wait (weight) :>)
