I have surgery on the 23rd of May 2003. My surgeon is Dr. Babineau in Tyler, Texas. He is very honest up front and to the point, I like that. His entire staff goes above and beyond to answer your questions, they are super friendly and very understanding. Dr. Babineau is from New York, and hasn't been in Texas long, but he seems to have adapted well, (he does wear cowboy boots with his scrubs). I would recommend a visit with him if you are within a reasonable distance and are considering this procedure. He has had several patients from over 15 hours away, so that should speak for itself. Good Luck to you all.
My first impression of Dr. Babineau was my he is so young. But talking with him and finding out he had done over 100 surgeries and had no fatalities was very incouraging. Although thats not really a lot, I had all the confidence in the world in him. He is really very professional and knows his stuff. His office staff was very friendly and caring.I know I bugged them to no end. But through it all they stayed professional and friendly. He really emphasizes aftercare and makes sure you realize and know all you should about the RNY bypass. They tell you all about the risks of surgery and make you take a test over the handout package they give you to read to make sure you have read and understood eveything. Espesially the risks. I would send everybody I know to him. I rate him 10 out of 10. He us really competent and has a great bedside manner. And he really cares.
DR BABINEAU WAS THE BEST AND I REALLY THINK HIS HAS NOT ONLY SKILL BUT GREAT CARING FOR ALL HIS PATIENTS. HIS STAFF WAS EXCEPTIONAL AND SUPPORT WAS SUPERIOR.
Dr.B and his office staff are the BEST. I could not have asked for a more relaxed enviroment than in his office and under his care. Even in the hospital, his bedside manner was great and he was very concerned of all my aches and pains. He has helped change my life in a "BIG" way and I will always be thankful to him. He put ALL my concerns at ease before I had my surgery and I was really comfortable ask him ANYTHING. I usually don't like talking to doctors about somethings but he was very easy to talk to. His office staff has gone out of their way to make this journey possible for me and there are not enough words to say how GREAT those Ladies are.I would not go to anyone else. Dr.B is wonderful. You can't help but fall in love with his scrubs and cowboy boots. And in the operating room you'll love the country music what little bit of it you get to hear. I didn't get on the table good till I was out. But I remember Turbo asking me what kind of music I like and I told him country. The whole staff at ETMC and Dr.B and his office staff are the BEST in East Texas.
I liked Dr.Babineau the first time I meet him. He had the appearance of a native Texan with the cowboy boots and all. I liked the fact that he initially explains everything about this WLS as a group to you and the rest of his patients for that session. He also goes over what he does that other doctors don't and the reasons why. By having his appointments set up this way , you save time. Most importantly you hear the questions asked by others that you may not have thought of or were to embarrassed to ask yourself. He's up front and to the point about rather or not he thinks having WLS is for you or not though. He takes the time to actually care. He not just out for the money he can make off the procedure.
Dr. Babineau and his staff were all so wonderful. There is just something about him that words can not explain.
