My first impression of Dr. Madan was that he was much younger than I had initially thought but very knowledgeable. He answered all my questions…plus some. While in the waiting room I did here a few people rumbling of the wait but I had been warned of this, so it was expected. I did feel a little bit like we were a herd of cattle, being shuffled from one place to another and overall you could tell that this office had “been there done that”. Everything was planned and scheduled. Dr. Madan and his staff are knowledgeable, nice and energetic. The only negative I have is their time management. rnMy first impression of Dr. Tichansky was much like that of Madan. I did feel I had a better rapport with him than Madan but honestly I have only meet them both once. It's really hard to base a true opinion on one visit.

In the last year I have been so glad I had Dr. T. I feel I have gotten better care than I would have had I gone elsewhere. The UT Medical Group Bariatric surgeons are HYPER careful and conscientious. At no time during the last year and a half have I felt as though I haven't gotten the best of care.rnrnI would most highly recommend Dr. Tichansky AND Dr. Madan. They are very caring and kind surgeons.

I first saw Dr. T. at a WLS seminar, He was knowledgeable and gave great answers to questions, I started out wanting Dr. Madan, but with the schedule he had it was impossible. So Dr. T. was placed on my case. we meet face to face on my pre-op appt.rnHis asst. Dr. Harper was more out front and came to see me the day of surgery and afterward.rnWhat I guess I did not like about seeing Dr. Harper was afterward he saw me after my surgery, And the bill I got from Dr. T. it should have said Dr. Harper instead. But I assume rnthat is how it is done, i think Dr. T. should have been more available and present.rnI think I was looking to see more of him. Since a friend who saw Dr, Madan said she saw him often.

Dr. Tichansky and his staff was and is the greatest. Dr. T always had time to answer my questions. At your first visit you receive a large 3-hole notebook of information about your surgery, before, during, and after. We discused the risks involved with surgery, but he has a great record. He was very precautious. I had some lab results which were in the normal range but a little high he repeated the test until he was satisfied. While I was in the hospital, the staff were super. During surgery the entire staff took great care of my husband. You know how they like to worry. Dr. T's surgical skills and well as his bedside manner were great.

It says he's in NJ but he came down to Memphis is June 04. Seems real cool and nice. He works with Dr. Madan at the UT Medical Group. More Info later. Only met with him for 15 min.

My first impression of Dr. Tichansky was that he was caring, helpful, and knowledgeable. My impression only increased in my admiration of Dr. T. The office staff is also first rate. They promptly answer any questions you have and help with applying for insurance. Our daughter is in the process of getting her insurance approved and the staff is so very helpful. Can not think of anything that I dislike about him or his staff. You walk in the office and are greeted with smiles and a big welcome. Aftercare is very important to Dr. Tichansky, he has a structured program and follows up to see that you are following directions. As you progress each change in the diet is completely discussed and explained. The risks of the surgery was discussed in full down to percentages of those who died. Dr. Tichansky's surgical competence and bedside manner are both great. He discussed in detail the procedures he was doing and why he did them that way. He came to my wife's room the morning of the surgery and walked to the operating room with her because he knew she was a little nervous. He is a hero to both myself and my wife.

My comments are true, my wife and I agree about what I've written. The comments are about what we experienced and the care given to us was wonderful. You can be suspect all you want. Dr. Tichansky called our home several times to make sure we were OK. How many doctors do you know that do that.

Just remembered one thing I don't care for and that is on office visits sometime you have to wait for Dr. T. because he has been held up in surgery but all doctors and patients have to contend with that every once-in-awhile.
I will repeat, these comments are our personal impressions and our personal experiences and we do not know what other people may have experienced

What can be said about two humans who have given you a chance to start a new life that is better than you could ever expect. That is how I feel about both Dr. Brolin and Dr. Tichansky. Dr. Tichansky did my surgery 10-13-03 and he is without a doubt the kindest and talented surgery you could ask for. He is not only very skilled, but also has the talent to listen and answer any questions, regardless of the content you have. Very personable and informative about the entire surgical procedure. You truly know what to expect when surgery is done, since no stone is not turned prior to it. NJ Bariatrics is also the best. The staff is truly helpful and passoniate about what they are doing. Everyone has gone out of their way to help when needed. Again I can never be able to thank them enough.
