The Center for Weight Management and Bariatric Surgery at Lowell General Hospital Bariatric Center
My first meeting was a bit confusing for the doctor as I had not met him yet I had finished all the testing and all the meetings required for his program. Once I explained my difficulty getting an appointment earlier with him due to his schedule. Once he understood he was very friendly and agreed that I am ready for surgery. So far so good
He is a GREAT MAN!!
He is a man who cares how people feel and how their health matters. I never felt like I was unsure about anything in his office he speaks slow and clear so you can understand him.
I can not say in words how good I feel. I did not know Life could be so Nice.
Dr. Shore seemed very confident in her work when I met her.
First impression, I thought she was someone who worked in the center, only after reading her ID badge I realized she was the doctor! She is very young looking, but very nice and had a great bedside manner. She explained the process, how long I would be in the hospital and what I should expect post-op.
My first impression was that she was new and the other surgeons in her practice had been doing it for a long time. After the first meet and greet we broke the ice and she is a great person. I just love the whole weight management clinic at Saints Memorial all the staff is wonderful!! I would rate my surgeon and staff a 10.
Dr Shen is a soft spoken man with several years experience in bariatric surgery. Surgery will be 1/25/06 at Emerson Hospital in Concord, MA. It is a new program for them, but with 3 experienced doctors. About 25% of his surgery is bariatric surgery. He took his time and answered all of my questions in detail. His office staff is great. They have a very thorough evaluation process and subsequent support system. I have attended an information meeting as well as 2 support group meetings and have found fellow patients to be very open and informative.
I have to say Dr. Shen was fantastic. He seems very quite but will answer all questions that you ask him. He takes a good pause between what he is saying to make sure that you don't have any of those questions that pop into your head or maybe afraid to ask. At the bedside he is in and out real quick, but does make sure to answer anything that you need. I can say that I didn't need much pain meds after and all wounds healed fast and clean.
The WLS team is great in there support before, during and after the surgery. I give Dr. Shen two thumbs up.
