The Center for Weight Management and Bariatric Surgery at Lowell General Hospital Bariatric Center

Dr. Shen was my surgeon who performed my sleeve on March 3, 2015. I agree with the reviews, he was an awesome doctor and I would recommend him to anyone. His manner is serious straight forward and initially he was very "matter of fact". He provided me with all the pros and cons, explained all parts of the surgery and what to expect. I had a conversion with the Lap-Band coming out and receiving the sleeve. At my first follow up he cracked a joke, laughed and said I had caused him some more "white hair" with a big smile. He was just awesome!

I would seek him out again, he is great and I would definitely recommend him to anyone for any WLS.

Dr. Jiser and the program at the Center for Weight Management at Lowell General are fantastic! Their required pre-op courses are informative and useful, and they really do their best to make sure you are prepared for the life change that WLS requires. The entire staff at both the Chelmsford and North Andover offices is amazing, so kind and helpful.

Dr. Jiser is very upfront, matter-of-fact and doesn't sugarcoat things, very "tell it like it is." However, he is also very friendly and personable, and inspires confidence! He did the VSG on both my husband and myself, and we have both had great recoveries and great results to date.

The hospital and staff at Lowell General Hospital were excellent as well. The nurses and aides were incredibly caring and kind, and the facilities were great. Also, the hospital has been recently renovated, and every room is a private room with a pull out sofa to allow your support person to stay in the room with you if desired. It was a very comfortable stay! The Center for Weight Management at Lowell General does have a Center of Excellence designation for those insurance companies that require it.

I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Jiser and the program at Lowell General Hospital! I believe you won't find better care anywhere else in MA.

Dr. Shore is an extremely attentive, thorough doctor and I would highly recommend her if you are considering bariatric surgery (or otherwise!) She is a very warm doctor and understands the plight of obesity. She never made me feel embarassed or ashamed of my problem. She also was very supportive of my weightloss during my time in the program. After surgery she checked on me every day and I also had a friend who went through the program too, she said Dr. Shore was very attentive as well.

Also, the program at Lowell General is very thorough, I felt like I was prepared to have the surgery after all of my classes and meetings.

There is really nothing bad I can say about her, I would recommend her to anyone.

Michael Jiser is a great doctor. He is very direct, he will spend as much time with you as needed, and he will provide you with all the information you need to make a decision on surgery. When I met with him it was my second time going into a program to lose weight. I had my vertical sleeve gastrecomy done by him on April 2nd of 2012. I have lost 60 pounds since the surgery and have never felt better and slowly and steadily losing weight. His staff is great and they are always there to help. I would recommend Dr. Jiser to anyone who needs weight surgery or an abdominal surgeon without any reservation at all.

Dr. Jiser is smart, friendly, professional, and trustworthy. His office in Concord has great staff and an amazing support system. He did a wonderful job with my Realize Band surgery and I would highly recommend him and his practice at Emerson.

i meet with dr.jiser and he has a verygood personality and very thourgh and doent rush you! very nice guy! i fell very confident with him~!

Dr Shore did a great job. Answered all my questions, didn't rush me through appointments. When I had my surgery, she kept me in the hospital an extra 2 days to make sure I was well enough to go home. I couldn't drink and I was experiencing extreme nausea. She kept me on a IV with plenty of pain meds to make sure I was comfortable and well. She has an excellent bedside manner. My scars are small and are healing nicely. She also sent me home with plenty of pain meds and anti-nausea medication.

Dr. Shore is an awesome doctor. I would highly recommend her to anyone and everyone. She answered every question I had and made sure I was absolutely well informed and relaxed about the procedure.

Dr. Shore is very nice, caring. She listens to what you have to say! I met with Dr. Shore before & after the surgery & the next day. She made time to answer my questions & made me feel okay with the choices I made. She assured me what I was feeling was quite normal.rnI would recommend Dr. Shore to anyone!

I meet my surgeon at the information meeting at Emerson Hospital. I had a good vibe when he was talking about the different surgeries. He was very straight forward and told you how it is. After talking to a few friends I found out that they had Dr. Jiser and were very happy. After I had my meeting with him, he made me feel comfortable.
