I was referred to Dr. Hipp by Dr. Earl Pickens due to a hernia I had. I weighed over 350lbs. I went to surgery on 6/12/15. Dr. Hipp had me in and out of surgery fast. I went in on a Friday morning and was out of the hospital by Sunday afternoon. Dr. Hipp came and checked on at least twice on Friday after I woke and also on Saturday as well as his PA came to see me as well. I weighed 358lbs the day of surgery. I now weigh in between 220 to 230lbs. Dr. Hipp less then a year after my sleeve also removed my hernia. He did a great job on both my surgeries. My scars are very small and barely noticeable now. Dr. Earl Pickens did my gallbladder removal and the scars to that surgery are also barely noticeable. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Hipp if you are wanting to look into the surgery and if you decide you want to get the sleeve surgery Dr. Hipp is the best. One of a kind doctor. Very happy with everything he has done for me.

The following is just my impressions of my own personal experience and I am making no statements about what other people may experience:
My first impression was that he was well versed in the procedure and personable. This impression did not change over time. I came through the surgery with little to no pain and no complications. His office staff is very nice, curteous and professional. His office offers and insists on structured after care. They give patients a notebook full of nutrition guidelines and lifestyle changes. Overall I have been happy with the process.

Dr. Hipp is a great surgeon and I'm so happy that I chose him. He's very professional, caring and easy to talk to. I really believe that he cares about his patients which really means a lot to me. I would highly recommend him to anybody looking for a surgeon in the Gainesville, Florida area.

I went to a conference on the lap band surgery. I immediately liked Dr. Hipp. He was a larger man then than he is now. I assumed he understood the enjoyment of food. I chose him to be my surgeon for the lap band. He is very professional and reassuring. He explained the procedure in common english and not medical terminology.rn When I visit his office for check ups and fills I can discuss any thing with him. I am a diabetic. I was on medicine and now I am off. I do not regret choosing Dr. Hipp as my doctor. I know that this site steers you to say negative things about your surgeon, but I have never had a negative experience with my surgeon. He takes his time with patients. He will ask questions and answers them in a way that makes you feel comfortable. He is very knowledgeable in his profession. His age was okay with me. I thought that would make him more up to date and familiar on techniques that are being used today. rn

DR. HIPP AND HIS STAFF ARE THE BEST...NOT REALLY CRAZY ABOUT TRISH BUT EVERYONE THERE IS VERY NICE :)

Dr. Timothy Hipp was great. Very impressed with him. He took time to answer all questions. I would highly recamened him and his staff. As well as NFRMC.

Dr. Hipp is a great surgeon. He is a bit quiet and I do not think he speaks openly enough with you, but he is friendly and you can tell he really cares. He makes time for your questions even when he is running behind. I would definitely recommend him!

my surgeon was great his bed side manor was really good he told me that i was going to do good but didn't think i was going to loose 194 pounds and still loosing

Dr. Peter Sarantos is very pleasant to speak with and listens to your concerns. He has the best bedside manner of any physician I have ever met, I have never heard anyone ever complain or say anything negative about him or his staff. The fact that he is a GEORGOUS GREEK may make me a little bit bias. Although his staff is great they keep up with all the patients and are very polite. I have yet to find anything about him or his staff that would turn me away. The only thing that I could let future patients know about Dr. Sarantos and his staff is that if you were to choose them you wouldn't have any concerns when you left his office. They are very thurough with patient care and after care. The phone calls after surgery are reassuring and boost your esteem. You finally feel like you are succeeding at your weight loss goals. Having to rate Dr. Sarantos, he will always be the best in my book, no one else will ever compair to him. He is the perfect 10!h His wife isn't bad either. Perfection must run in the family.

WoW! He is very friendly and willing to answer any questions. He tells the patient the risks as well as what potentially could be the reward if the pt follows through. He is nothing shy of insanely hot, but his personality is very welcoming. I had great vibes. He doesnt treat the obese any different than he would a normal size patient. For the first time in years I didnt feel like a whale in the doctors exam room. He softly poked and proded my belly ( soon to be gone so I hope he got his fill! :) and made me fell very comfortable with my decision.rnHe started me on a preop diet and I am going to be 100% by the book. I told him before he left that \"I will be his star patient, I am going to work hard and lose the weight!\"rnrnSurgery day he was very comforting! He spoke with my family as well as myself before surgery. I was in pieces until I saw him, his presence is reassuring.rnHis bedside is as wonderful as he is. He took his time and again spoke with my family.rnI did my research before picking a surgeon. The nurses that have scrubbed with him at NFRMC say he is wonderful!
