My first impression of Dr. Yu was of a friendly, \"real\" doctor. He didn't act superior or condescending. I initially met him at the Hermann Med Center seminar. I had been to all the weight loss seminars in the med center but what steered me towards Dr. Yu was his self disclosed statistics. I then scheduled an appointment. The meeting was very brief because I knew all the ins and outs of the procedure, however he did go into everything in depth. After following up in his clinic for my weightloss management classes I occasionally would see Dr. Yu in the hall and he would say \"HI.\" He performed a EGD on me as well and I have nothing negative to say about the procedure, all went very well.

I am so glad that I choose Dr. Yu as my surgeon. His bedside manner is wonderful. I also feel that he puts the health of his patients first. The program at his office is very informative. They make sure that you really know what you're getting into and that wls is right for you. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking into wls.

I went to a WLS seminar and Dr. Yu did the presentation. I instantly felt comfortable with him and he struck me as a caring, professional surgeon. That remains my opinion through a couple of speed bumps associated with my surgery. He also performed my mom's WLS and she is thrilled with her results. He is truly interested in his patients progress after WLS and is extremely supportive. rnThe staff at Dr. Yu's practice are a wonderful bunch of folks who seem to work well together and only want the best for their patients. They are a supportive group and an excellent resource for anybody who is considering WLS. They navigate the insurance minefield for you and neither my mom or I have recieved any surprises in the mailbox. rnDr. Yu wants his patients to participate in monthly support group meetings, before and after surgery, and has them in his office. I'd get more out of them if I was better about attending, now that school is over for the summer, I'll be much better. Probably.rnI discussed the risks of the surgery with him and between the two of us decided which WLS procedure was best for me. I would have had quicker results with bypass surgery, but he understood that I was not comfortable with the risks involved with GBS. He did not try to pressure me or change my mind, he was very sensitive to my concerns and needs. rnI would not hesitate to refer my friends and family to Dr. Yu.

I had known for several years that I wanted to have the Lap Band, but just couldn't find the right doctor. It was the third seminar that I attended when I knew Dr. Yu was the doctor for me. He was very courteous,friendly, confident and knowledgeable. I felt very comfortable from the first visit. He has always encouraged me and stood by me. He answered all my questions thoroughly. His office staff is wonderful and makes you feel important. One of the best things about my surgery was that he used one incision vs 3 or 4 incisions. He also placed a pain pump that remained in place for 2 days post-op so I was never in pain. The procedure was done on a Friday and I was back to work Monday! I do everything I was told to do by Dr. Yu and his staff and it is working.I have lost 50 pounds since Oct. 3 and will be forever greatful to Dr. Yu for changing my life.

I love this doctor. I met him in June at a seminar and when I went back the next month he remembered my name. I was hooked after that. The office staff and nurse is awesome and questions answered anytime. I would rate DR YU on a scale of 1-10 about a 50. He is awesome.

I like Dr.Scarborough from the moment I met him. He answered all of my questions honestly and it was like talking to an old friend. He is a very kind and patient man. His office staff is always friendly and when I call to make my appointments, I can here the smile in their voices.Dr. Scarbourough---THUMBS UP TO YOU AND YOUR STAFF!

My first impression of Dr. Yu was that he was very kind and sweet. My impression has not changed, if anything he has provedto me that he is a great Dr and very attentive to his patient's. My mother thinks he spoils us.rnDr. Yu actuallu facilitated the seminar that I went to at Hermann and that is how I actually met him and decided that he was going to be my Dr. He was very thorough and explained all the different procedures that could be done and went over all of the pros and cons. He was very honest and I liked that. There is nothing that I don't like about him or his staff. From day one everybody has been great. even when he and Dr. Scarbrough decided to leave and open their own office, it was a smooth transition.rnThe staff on top of it and there were no problems. whenever I talked to them they are always very nice. When I went in for my first post op appointment the receptionist asked me how I felt. I thought that was very nice. Dr. Yu has a very good dietician that comes to the office to speak with his patients before surgery. He has very structured pre op and post op care program. It made it so easy to be able to get all of my vitamins,calcium and protien shakes from his office. I was a little concerend about the tase, but the vitamins and calcium are chewable and taste fruity and the protien takes like a milk shake. They let me hace samples in the office to taste so they I could see just what they tasted like. The day of surgery I was not nervous because he made me feel there was nothing to fear. I would recommend him to anyone I know. And while I was in the hospital he came and saw me everyday and made me feel even better. Dr. Yu is the best!! Bedside manner is not like any other. He has the best bedside manner.

I first impression of Dr. Yu was better than I anticipated. He explained everything to me as for the pro's and con's for each type of gastric bypass surgery. I felt he was very honest and open with me as for what I should expect and my role in helping to lose the weight. His office staff is wonderful and they make you feel welcome. When I am there I do not feel like a patient, I fee like I am with family. His beside manners are excellent, he truly cares about his patients. His overall rating from me on a scale o 1-10 is a 10 and beyond. I am glad my co-worker referred me to him. I am currently trying to referr a couple of people to him who are thinking about having gastric surgery. Overall I am happy and pleased with my surgery, especially only having one small incision, which has healed up very beautifully. Thanks Dr. Yu for everything.

Friendly professional office staff. Spacious, nicely furnished state of the art new office. rnDr. Scarborough is a caring well trained medical professional. Dr. Scarborough was present and available for questions before and after surgery. He visited with me and my family during my surgery prep time and followed up with them immediately following it. I also saw him two times while hospitalized in addition to many other hospital staff members.
