Bon Secours St. Francis Surgical Weight Loss Bariatric Center
I think Dr. Anderson's program is well put together because he seems to have a good support program set up as well as great materials on WLS to fully explain before and after care. I was a bit surprised that more pre-op testing is not done to make sure that I am healthy enough to have this surgery and cut down on complications. I guess if he thought I was at great risk he would do more and maybe I'm just nervous.
After Surgery: Dr. Anderson is wonderful. He did a great job with my surgery and after care. I felt completely taken care of by him and his staff. I had asked a few friends in the medical field about Dr. Anderson before I had my surgery and they all said that I was in the safest hands. I believe it! I thank God for the gift of this surgery and for the protection He provided me through Dr.Anderson's surgical skills and dedication.
I have had two meetings with Dr. Anderson and found him to be straight forward and to the point. His knowledge of the procedures and the whole program provided has put me at ease. His staff is also very good. They have an extensive aftercare program with lots of support. That was a key issue as the more I read about WLS the more I'm convinced the hard part is post op. So far I am very satisfied with Dr. Anderson and the whole program.
I was very impressed with Dr. Anderson and his nurse Angie. They were both very informative. I was told about all the good things about the surgery and also the things that could happen. I was taught all about the dietary restrictions afterwards. Angie has been a big emotional support through this.
I was very pleased with Dr.Anderson. He and Dr.Baulder took very good care of me after my surgery. I would recommend him if anyone wants to have the surgery.
I got the impression he is a friendly, good-natured man who is serious about helping his obese patients. He makes sure you are completely briefed and understand exactly what the surgery and ensuing lifestyle change will entail.
Dr. Anderson's nurse Angie Kriss was a BIG help to me in the approval process and very very patient although I pestered her half to death *smile*
I can't say I disliked anything about Dr. Anderson. He emphasizes aftercare and there is a monthly support group at Carolina's Hospital run by his nurse Angie.
He addressed the risks of the surgery adequately and I think I would rate him very highly, a 9 on a scale of 1-10. He may achieve the final rating of 10 AFTER I experience his surgical skills first-hand :)
I AM HAVING MY FIRST MEETING WITH HIM THE 7TH OF MARCH. BUT I CAN TELL YOU HIS NURSE
ANGIE KRISS IS GREAT.
WELL MY FIRST MEETING WENT REAL WELL WITH THE DR. HE WILL DO I SUPPOSE (HA HA)NO REALLY I THINK HE WAS GREAT VERY TO THE POINT AND DID WELL EXPAINING THE SURGERY BUT I'M STILL GOING THROUGH WITH IT
This is very early in my journey and I am sur
that I will beable to tell you a lot more about my Dr and his staff. I want you all to realize that I am 55 and happily married. But..........friends I ain't dead yet!!!!!
When I met Dr Anderson, I looked into the prettiesr blue eyes I have ever seen. I have to admit I felt like a kid at Chridtmas.
I have wanted to have surgery for five years or more. He has super nurses and such helpful caring staff.
Before my appointment was over, I was totally at ease and very excitrd about the future. Dr. Anderson explained the procedure and showed me what he was going to do. My goal is to lose at least 100 lbs.
We talked about complications that could arise due to my diabetes. He is so easy to talked to and just made me feel like he would do everything possible to help join the "losers" on this site.
I think his track record speaks for its self and I would be Happy to recomend him.
The question is...surgical competence or bedside manner. I was impressed with his bedside manner in the office. This was very important to me, because, being obease I get my feelings hurt enoug.
When I first met Dr Anderson my first thought was WOW WHAT A HUNK lol!! But seriously he seems to be a very caring person.. He explained things to me very well.. Answered any ???'s I had & his nurse ANGIE KRISS is the best ... shes so sweet " Just gotta love her" lol Both explained the risks of this surgery & since im having LAP they also told me there may be a possibility if something comes up they may have to open me up! & I fully understand the risks.. I would highly recommend Dr. Anderson.Ill be back w/ more info after my surgery !! see you all on the other side so to speak lol
I felt he was professional, friendly, nonjudgemental. I liked that about him. My judgement has not changed of him. His staff is just as professional and nice. I like everything about my doctor. My doctor is well recommended in this town. I would recommend him to anyone. Aftercare is very inmportant to my doctor. His aftercare program is excellent. The risk of surgery was fully explained to me and I went forward with the surgery. I would highly recommend him. Both are great.
He is well trained and highly professional. He explained everything to me in detail, the goods, the bads, and the uglies about the open RNY procedure. He has a beautiful bedside manner and is so supportive and understanding. Everyone in his office was sensational. They are truly a marvelous
"support team"!! His WLS nurse is Angie and she, too, is a real guardian angel. She has done her homework and can advise WLS patients as good as anyone I have ever seen. They all have a "caring" spirit! My hat is off to them..God Bless Them for what they do!

"Dr.O" seems to be a very pleasant man. He was very easy to talk to and very open to questions. I feel good about my decision to see him for this surgery.

Dr. O's office let me down with the pursuit of my insurance company. Dr. Anderson's team picked up the ball and got me approved. He is a definate cutie-pie and very nice. I feel that he has the experience and ability to do this surgery.
11/16/01 I am now a post-op and can not speak highly enough of Dr. Anderson. He was a great surgeon who didn't cut corners. He is very detail oriented and doesn't have the attitude you would expect from a surgeon. I was able to joke with him and he would throw the jokes back at me. His nurse Angie Kriss is an angel. She came to the hospital everyday to check on me and has been a dear friend. I can't believe there could be a finer team doing bariatric surgery.
