Dr Averbach is the best surgeon around. I was originally scheduled to have surgery with Dr Magneson at Bay View and decided I didnt want to be cut so I researched and changed drs. Dr Averback is a serious dr and wants you to take this surgery very seriously (like you should) His staff is VERY friendly and they all went out of their way after surgery when I accidentally got pregnant at only about 6-7w post op! OOPS! They offer support groups also. I highly reccommend Dr Averbach to anyone who is thinking about having surgery.

I cant explain in words how excellent everything went with my surgery with Dr. Averback and his staff at St. Agnes. From Day one when i went to my consultation with Dr. Averback in December 2007 until my surgery January 31, 2008 they stayed in close contact with me with every update regarding my surgery. Even now that i am almost three months after surgery they still stay in contact with me to make sure that everything is ok and that i am doing well with the surgery. i could not have chosen a better surgeon to perform my Gastric Bypass surgery. I would recommend anyone interested in getting gastric bypsss to Dr. Andrew Averback because he is the BEST AND GREATEST surgeon.

I decided which surgeon to use partially based on reviews I read here. I was very pleased with Dr. Averbach with all aspects of my lapband surgery. My surgery date was 2/7/08 and as of today, 4/13/08, I lost 50 lbs!!!!! I could not have done this without Dr. Averbach and his staff. He is straightfoward and I would recommend him highly.

Very good doctor. After I came home from the hospital he was easy to get in touch with and even called again later in the day to make sure things were good.

Dr. Averbach is straightforward, warm and highly intelligent. He wanted to know, that as a patient, you had educated yourself about the surgery, and was comfortable with the information you had received about the surgery. He was very thorough. rnrnDr. Averbach illustrated the next steps that would have to be taken and I moved forward. He was there by my side through the entire process. I've lost 125 pounds and will be forever grateful to Dr. Averbach.rnrnHe gave me HOPE.rnrnI would definitely recommend him to anyone.

Very friendly staff. Dr. Averbach is more then willing to answer any questions you have. Very friendly and professional. Very good after program. Convenient to have nutritionist and psychologist on the staff. I was very, very impressed how cheerful he was when he came to see me in the hospital the day after the surgery and even came in first thing Saturday morning in his regular clothes to see how I was doing and signed my papers for me to go home. Not once have I seen any doctor with a smile on their face everytime you see them and their willingness to make sure you are well. I am only less then a week out of my surgery and feeling wonderful. Called their office this morning to make a post-op appointment with Arlene Swanko, the nutritionist in their office and she is more then willing to make your appointment with her the same day that you see Dr. Averbach so you aren't making unnecessary trips back and forth. I would HIGHLY recommend their office to anyone looking into this surgery. Even other associates that meet with you in the hospital are very pleasant and have smiles on their faces and will joke with you about things to keep your spirits up. Looking forward to continuing my care with Dr. Averbach and his staff.

My sister used the same surgeon 1 1/2 years earlier. I knew that before surgery he is all business. He takes your care and decision seriously. Afterward, he is much more personable. His office and staff are above and beyond what I would want. No phone call is ever a burden. I am a self pay and they did their best to help me get all the charges. (Can't say the same for the hospital!) He stays right on any health issues afterward. No taking any chances. When I needed a blood thinner before surgery and my insurance wouldn't cover it, he went the extra mile to get me samples.

Dr Averbach was awesome, a little dry but I think he wants you to understand the seriousness of what you are signing up for. Now that I am 9 months out he has softened and will actually smile and joke with me :)rnrnThe Staff at St Agnes is awesome, always ready to answer questions!rnrnDr Averbach is all about maintenance and making sure that you focus on changing your lifestyle. He has given you a tool to make weight loss effective, but it is the patient's responsibility to focus on changing that those bad eating habits and increasing excersise.rnrn

We was a serious type of no nonsense type of person,I feel that he takes his work seriously and that is a good thing. When I had my surgery his front office staff was wonderful. He stays on you about your weight lost.I would rated him as excellant he was straight forward he cut no corners about the surgery your part in the surgery and that it wont work unless there is a full committment and understanding.

Dr. Averbach was not the original surgeon I had selected. Due to complications with the anesthesiology group refusing to do my surgery because of my sleep apena, my original surgeon, Dr. Scott Bovard, highly recommended Dr. Averbach. I must say I have been very impressed with Dr. Averbach's program, office staff, and surgical expertise! His office staff are extremely pleasant and helpful. The nutritionist and nurse coordinator return calls promptly and are very helpful. I would recommend Dr. Averbach to anyone looking for a surgeon for lap band.
