When I met Dr. Averbach I was very impressed with him. He did not sugar coat anything about this surgery at all. He told me all of the ups and downs. I asked him questions and he answered then honestly. I even asked him some difficult questions but ones that had to be asked, and let me just say that he answered them..all of them. The staff was supportive and if I call them with any questions they are always there to answer with bells on. I was not supposed to get an appoinment for about 6 months but they had a person bail out on them last minute and they called me. The only thing that they ask is that you fill out that packet that they send you and come prepared. They have guided me through every step and have submitted everything to my insurance company. Theresa is the person whom I work with when I call because I feel very comfortable speaking to her. I would suggest this doctor to anyone out there considering this surgery.

Very straight forward. He answered all my questions. Office staff was nice. Has a good aftercare program. Discussed the risks of surgery thoroughly.

On 01/09/04 I had my initial consult with Dr. Averbach. He seems great! He clearly described the surgery with me , the benefits, risks, etc... He made sure I knew what I was doing. The staff was terrific! Everyone was so polite, I am looking forward to working more with them. Dr. Averbach makes sure that you know WLS is not a easy way out of obesity, this is a decision and you will have to watch what you eat and workout just as you would any other diet. I think I would rate him and his office an overall 10! I feel that when looking for a surgeon surgical competence and bedside manner are extremely important. Dr. Averbach has both!!!! I would recommend him to anyone.

I met my surgeon in person for the first time on November 26, 2003. He was a generally nice person who was easy to talk to and explained things to me in simple, easy to understand terms. I thought the office staff was GREAT. Cathy Carr-Younger is a GREAT individual who is excellent with people!!! The receptionist Carole is sweet, and the Nurse Teresa is awesome. He and his staff both stress that you know all ther is to know about the surgery, its life altering effects, and the mental and emotional changes that will occur. They also want you to work closely with the staff and your own persoanl doctor to acheive your weight loss goals. They talk a lot about aftercare and the different programs that help you through. they also make the staff available for help at any time you need it. The risks of surgery as well as there own statistics are given several times throughout your consult and as far as I am concerned...he is the best choice for me.

Of course these are my own personal impressions of my own personal experience and I am making no statements about what other people may experience

Actually Dr's Singh and Averbach are two of the nicest people I have ever met. I had my appointment on 11-12-03, my husband acompanied me to my exam. He was of the most professional Doctors I have met. He explains the good and the bad. If you are scared and apprehensive is is sensitive to your needs. My information was submitted, and I have a pending surgery date of 12-1-03
I actually came to work in the office and the caring attitude, the staff I work with are so supportive of me and of all the patients. Each person is important to the office and we all get excited when an authorization comes through. I have had the privilege of imforming the patients of their approval and also to schedule their procedures. The excitement from them when I call is so gratifying, words can't express what it has done for me.

I met with Dr. Averbach last Friday for my consult. Dr. Averbach was very professional and laid out what the surgery entails and the statistics (morbidity and complications). This despite knowing these statistics was very sobering. Notwithstanding the informed consent, I was very excited to be there and am moving forward.

The staff at Singh & Averbach are extremely helpful. The surgery coordinator has gone through the procedure several years ago and she is kind of a mentor.

The office is moving in a few weeks from its current location in Catonsville off Wilkens Avenue to the Rolling Road area near U.S. 40.

I will report more as I have more contact with the office.

FROM THE DAY I MET DR. AVERBACH I THOUGHT HE WAS VERY NICE. MY OPINION HAS NOT CHANGED AT ALL ABOUT HIM. HIS STAFF IS EXCELLENT AND I KNOW DUE TO MY OWN ISSUES I WAS A BIT MUCH TO DEAL WITH BUT THEY WERE VERY PROFFESSIONAL THROUGH OUT. THERE WAS NOTHING I LIKED LEAST ABOUT HIM. HE IS A VERY NICE DOCTOR AND WILL ANSWER ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS THAT YOU MAY HAVE.HE STRESSES THAT HE AND HIS STAFF ARE AVAILABLE TO YOU ANYTIME YOU NEED THEM. HE DOES HAVE A STRUCTURED AFTER CARE PROGRAM. HE ADDRESSES THE RISK OF SURGERY TRUTHFUL AND CLEARLY. I WOULD RATE HIM AT THIS POINT A TEN PLUS AND I DO NOT SEE THAT DOING ANYTHING BUT GOING UP IN MY RATINGS. I THINK SURGICAL COMPETENCE AND BED SIDE MANNER ARE EQUALLY AS IMPORTANT.

Dr. Averbach is very proffessional knowledgeable about his work. His staff is absolutely wonderful at this point.

Dr. Averbach was very informative. He took the time to answer all of my questions. He explained all of the risks that come along with the surgery and how to avoid some of the complications. He was very soft spoken and makde me feel very relaxed. He wasn't one of those doctors who seemed intimadating. His office staff were very friendly and heplfull. I would recommend him to future patients. He puts alot of emphasize on aftercare and has a structured aftercare program already mpped out.
