Seattle Weight Loss Bariatric Center
Originally I was seeing Dr. Grant at Duke but got to meet Dr. McMahon at one of my visits. He recently joined Dr. Grant at Duke/Durham Regional. I understand his specialty is Laproscopic surgery but he hasn't done many RNY's. Dr. Grant will be assisting so I feel okay about that. I will get a chance to talk more to Dr. McMahon at my Pre-op and will know more then. Dr. McMahon has been absolutely wonderful. He saw me every day in the hospital & made sure I was comfortable, etc. He did a wonderful job, shld have minimal scarring. I saw Dr. Grant for my post-op visit & he is just a sweet & wonderful and he was before
Dr. Grant and Dr McMahon did my surgery
together. I think they do them all that
way now. I went to see several surgeons
in the area and by far these guys are most
wonderfull. They are very empathetic to you
and so very kind. They have a great program
set up that keeps getting better all the
time. They ask you for advice also on their
program so they can be sure they are giving
their patients what they want.
My first meeting with Dr. Ross McMahon was at a group session to describe the surgery. He was very personable and said he does not blame overweight people for their problems. He gave a very frank explanation of the surgery and of possible complications. I found him to be very caring and thorough. I hope it carries through! Aftercare was not discussed in much detail. His support staff seem caring enough, if not a bit brash towards the patients. (Hey you are fat and I am not), but they do have an insurance specialist on staff so that will hopefully be a bonus. They sound very competent and they seem to have a low complication rate, which is very important to me.
