I researched Surgeons in my area and noted Dr Tillquist had come up,, often,,,and in positive references... I have made an initial appointment with him (September 2) but, as you might note,,, today is the last day in February... There is no hurry though because my insurance(Aetna) demands 6 months of physician care and I have my first appointment with my PCP on the 12th of March. I have chosen a female physician,,, I hope she will understand who I am and why I have gotten here. As to Dr Tillquist, his staff has been super,,, getting me information and beginning the process,,, I hope to have my surgery before this time next year. But I have read enough to know that it might be later than that,,, though im hoping that it wont be.
If the doctor is anywhere near the caliber of his staff, then I cant ask for more.. Will update on him after September

I think Dr. Tillquist seems nice, he listened to all I had to say and was there for all my questions (I've only seen him once

DR. T ws very comforting and easy to talk to. He answered all of my questions (about 30) and did so with great detail, sometimes more than I ever expected. His office staff have been extremely courteous and knowledgable about all aspects of this procedure, including dealing with the insurance stuff. I am so glad I chose him for my doctor. In November, I attended a nutrition class, which is a requirement of Dr. T's for the surgery, and was interested to hear the experiences of other people who are using different surgeons. It only strengthened my initial thoughts and feelings about Dr. T, he is the best choice for me.

Dr. Tillquist is an excellent surgeon. He impressed me with his confidence and knowledge. My primary care doctor did her surgical residency at one of the hospitals that he operates at, and she said he was one of the few Dr.'s she ever worked with that stayed very calm and confident and pleasant to everyone around her even when things weren't going well. She saw that confidence help him fix dangerous situations in a patient without getting all wound up and wasting time. He did a great job on my surgery. I am only 3 days out and am home and doing well, except for being very sore, which is normal. I would recommend him to anyone.

I found Dr. Tillquist to be informative and his office staff to be helpful. They only problem that I have had is getting ahold of the nutritionist to schedule my classes. Dr. Tillquist will be seeing me for one year after my surgery. I am pre-op at this time and will update as I go along the journey.

He is a very kind and supportive person. Taking time to answer all of my questions, and his medical staff are so warm. Especially Eileen, for her hard work at dealing with the insurance companies Cigna and then Pacific Care. Dr. Tillquist has great knowledge in this feild of medicine and has been doing this WLS for over 10 years. He alleviated my fears and worries. I am so glad I found him.

I'd read a lot about Dr. Tilquist before actually meeting him. I was not disappointed. What a kind man. I took my mother with me and she asked a lot of questions which he answered in full detail. He was honest and upfront and his support staff is phenomenal! What a pleasant surprise from some other doctors!!
He left me with a feeling of complete confidence in his abilities and skill. I will forever be grateful to Dr. Tillquist for giving me this chance to live a life I've never dreamed of.

Dr.T. was just what I thought he would be: clear confident, concise, comfortable to be with and experienced. I was impressed to hear that he has been doing these kinds of procedures since the mid ‘80s. Since I have only seen him once, that’s about all I can report at this time. I’ll update as time passes.

Now, as for the office staff…. Eileen is the best, I met her back in July when I contributed my gall bladder and she’s kind, real, honest and efficient. All the office staff I’ve met so far are knowledgeable and friendly.

I really felt comfortable with Dr. T. He took all the time I felt that I needed. I really liked his receptionist. She was very busy but I felt like I had her full attention when I needed it.

Dr. Tillquist is a very kind and understanding MD who took the time to sit down and answer all my questions - no matter how silly they seemed to me.
The entire office staff was friendly and responsive to my needs.
Dr. Tillquist highly emphasizes aftercare - stating that I will be seeing him for one full year after the surgery. This will be on a structured and scheduled program, but, he did emphasize that I could and should call him at any time that I felt I needed to.
He was very straight forward and to the point about the risks of surgery - but also, assurred me that he has a very low complication rate.
I am very pleased with Dr. Tillquist, so far, and would rate him, overall, very high.
His surgical competence and bedside manner are both great.
