Hello, I had my frist apt with the doctor on 11-11-04 and was happy to see that he was kind, and made me feel good about what i was doing , he anwerd all my questions and concern, his nurse cj is very sweet and you can tell that she cares about your feeling and concerns, now elane is the receptionist, the inserance processer, the schduler for dr tillquest apt and im sure she does much more then that,so if it ever feels like things are not moving fast enought, she will make things happen as soon as all the ducks are lined up. the whole staff is awsome.

I have not met him yet but from what others say he is very good. I will meet him on the 14 of Oct. I will get back with the other questions then. Well I finally met Dr.Tillquist and he seems to be very nice. I will know more after my surgery.

Dr. Tillquist is so very amazing and his spirit is so calming he was more than what I could have ever asked for in a surgeon. My impression remains the same for him although I was unable to continue my follow appointments. His office staff was also amazing and very encouraging. There was nothing that I did not like about Dr. Tillquist. I think people should know he will help you to help yourself and you have to be honest with him. Aftercare is so very important to him they have a great program for post-op patients. He was very honest about the risk of the surgery and provided as much information as possible. I rate Dr. Tillquist a perfect 10!!! He is so very, very amazing. Both! My experience was great! The only thing I would have liked more is to see him during my post op appointments but I u nderstand he was very busy with surgery's.

I absolutly think Dr. Tillquist is the kindest man. Made me very confortable and his team did not make me feel like I was alone.

Emphasizes aftercare as critical. I had to move in March 2004, but he has made himself and his staff available long distance to make sure I am successful.

He is a very upfront doctor about the risks involved in this surgery. I was grateful to understand the risks and the benfits. He made sure I understood what I was getting myself into.

Dr. Tillquist is the only Doctor that takes the time to really make sure you understand and fully are aware of everything. I would refer anyone who thinks that they may be ready for this change in their life. It sure changed mine.

I found him extremely friendly and non-judgemental. CJ, his PA is also very friendly, although she went through all the info awfully fast. Elaine, the lady who sends in the info for approval, is very nice, but terrible about returning calls. Thankfully, the last two times I called I actually got to talk to her in person! I was disappointed that although I got everything in to the office, my file wasn't sent in for approval for two more weeks, I believe.

I was impressed that Dr. Tilquist requires that all patients take a nutrition course before they will submit the surgery request to insurance. He also cares enough about his patient's success to pay for a full year of support group once a month. He is the only doctor that I know of in the Denver area that does that.

Overall, I would give him an A on beside manner! Hopefully I will find his surgical competence to be as good!

He is a very knowledgable surgeon, who took the time to anwser many of my questions. Excellent surgeon, which I would highly recommend. My impression has not changed about Dr. Tillquist. His staff was kind, considerate, well informed and very helpful with all my needs before and after surgery. Future clients should know that Dr. Tillquist has performed Bariatric surgeries for over 14 years and within that time span, he has lost only 3 patients. Dr. Tillquist aftercare program is very much like his pre-op programs, "top notch". Dr. Tillquist was very upfront about the risk of having this surgery and explained the pro's and con's throughly. I would rate Dr. Tillquist between and 8 & 9 on my personal scale. The competences of a Doctor, as well as their bedside manner are both needed for a full and speedy recovery, which Dr.Tillquist has an abudance of. I personally don't have any negative comments to make against Dr. Tillquist. I prayed and asked the "Great Physician, Jesus Christ" to lead me to the right person for the job, and He lead me to Dr. Tillquist. End of story.

I honestly have nothing negative to say about Dr. Tillquist, his staff, or his program. He is awesome. Very friendly, and patient. Any question you have he will answer. His staff is wonderful. And the after care program is great. The nutrition class was very helpful and i learned a ton from it. All in all i have no regrets and i would recommend Dr. T to ANYONE. I guess the only downside is the wait. He is VERY booked up. BUT he is very worth it.

<b>Dr T is great.. He has a great bedside manor (even though he wakes you up at the crack of dawn wanting to know if you have any questions, i wasn't awake!! lol) He's funny, knows when to be serious, likes to joke around, answer's all your question's & he really know's what he's doing.. His aftercare program is all you have to worry about, but it's easy between C.J's help & Kelly's class you can't fail.. The hard part was done with the surgery.. Over all rating? He get's an A+ I'd only have this surgery again if he was the one doing it.. Eileen & C.J are just as awesome as Dr T, very helpful & outgoing.. They're a great group of people & know what they're doing!

Met with surgeon. He is smart and warm and easy to talk with. I have great confidence in him.

For the psych evaluation I used Melinda Mcmahaon. I would not reccommend her. The first thing she asked was how I was going to be paying and I had to write a check right there and then. She talked more about failure than success and was judgemental and negative.

Haven't met with the surgeon yet but the staff is the best informed and competent I have dealt with to date.

Office staff very friendly. They were able to move my appt up 2 mos and worked with me to make sure I had everything I needed for the insurance approval. There are pre and post surgery requirements, whether or not your insurance requires it. They want you to be successful. I have only consulted with the Dr. thus far and he seems like a kind, patient man. He has performed over 700 RNY surgeries and has only lost 4 patients, several months out from surgery, due to blood clots; lack of exercise was suspected. Much as I suspected (from what I read here), he didn't have a great deal to say, as CJ answered most of the questions, but did spend more time with me than I expected, describing the procedure and making sure I had what I needed for the nutritionist and psych appts, and made sure I was able to get a surgery date while I was there. I was very pleasantly surprised that they were not scheduling surgery 8-12 wks out, rather 6 wks. So my surgery date actually precedes my original consult appt date by 2 wks! I chose him based on recommendations on obesityhelp.com and a couple of my other doctors (on the Western Slope, no less) were very enthusiastic when I told them I'd chosen Tillquist, referring to him as "the best". I take that as a very good sign and I'm hopeful.
