I met Dr. Fitzer in March when I went for my consult. Being a Nurse for 20 years has taught me to read doctors pretty well. I truly feel Dr. Fitzer is a wonderful and genuine person. I asked him why he did this type of surgery, his answer was simple "I wanted to do something in Medicine that would make people happy"
I came away from his office with a positive feeling and I think this is going to be a wonderful journey, tough but wonderful.
My first impression of Dr. Fitzer was, he is very knowledgable, he really knows his stuff. My impression really hasn't changed at all. His knowledge and abilities were very evident during my surgery. I appreciated his honesty and his ability to be straight with me. He is very definite on his expectations, but is kind and caring enough that he makes you want to follow his instructions and not disappoint him. I was very impressed and appreciative to Dr. Fitzer and his staff for their time and care. He is definitly one of my shining stars!
First impression of Dr. Fitzer was YOUNG. But he is a partner with a well established bariatric surgeon, Dr Graber, which ,made me a little more comfortable. Very knowledgeable and office staff is wonderful. Aftercare is very important to his practice and their nutritionist is on site so any problems or concerns are readily answered. After surgery he stresses the importance of compliance with their diet program and coming to all office visits. Bedside manner is great and so is his knowledge of his chosen field. I am very glad I chose him to be my champion.
My first impression was a very positive one of Dr. Fitzer. He is young and energetic, very knowledgeable about this kind of surgery....all business, definitely, but kind and caring. rnI met with him a second time and again was impressed with his professionalism! The office staff was great!!!!! Dr. Fitzer and all of the staff that I spoke with really stressed that I need to follow doctor's orders in order to have a successful experience with the wls. I am very pleased with Dr. Fitzer's knowledge and completely trust him to do my surgery!
In my humble opinion based solely on my own personal experience, Dr. Fitzer is a nice but no-nonsense type of guy. He is extrodinairly competent and professional. His whole focus is on making you understand the seriousness of the decision to proceed with surgery, weigh the risks and understand what is at stake if you fail to follow through on the necessary after-care.rnrnI couldn't have asked for a better surgeon.rnrnI honestly have nothing bad to say about the guy. I never felt that I was ever in harm's way and the serious tone that he speaks to you in, I think, underscores the seriousness of the decision you are making.rnrnOk, he bears striking physical resemblance to the actor who plays Charlie Sheen's brother Allan in the sitcom Two And A Half Men. rnrnFolks who enjoyed the 80's will remember him as Ducky from Pretty in Pink.rnrnHe isn't nearly as goofy as either of those characters :)rnrn
Dr Fitzer is very young, and very businesslike. I had a favorable first impression of him; he did NOT sugarcoat any of the risks of WLS-he spoke to me very seriously about aspects of the surgery. His surgical record is excellent as well-I felt very confident about having the surgery. If you are looking for someone to coddle you and baby you before you have this surgery,, Dr Fitzer isn't your man-he talks tough about what the risks are and what you are expected to do to make this surgery work for you. The office staff is great, they ANSWER THE PHONE in their ofc & didnt make me feel that I was bugging them with my trivial questions. By the time I had my WLS I had my post op instructions listed week by week& I knew just what to do & eat.
