Well,At the first visit I did not spend much time with him so,I ended up backing out of the sugery, then the office called and Dr.Leggett was concerned as to why I did,So I went back in to see him and he was very understanding and wanted to know if there was anything he could do to help ease my mind and he did.
I will have to update more after surgery

I met my surgeon on 9/16/04 for the first time. The meeting was brief but the other doctor, Nicole, was very informative. All the other office staff was very sweet also and I am feeling at ease with the decision I made for a surgeon. They gave us homework that details all the complications that can occur during surgery. They want to make sure you know exactly what is going to happen, how you will feel, and anything can could go wrong. I will update more when I see the Doctor again and go over what else is needed to schedule the date.

I have only just met Dr. Leggett for about 5 minutes, but he seemed very nice. More later folks! :)

I would reccomend Dr. Leggett to anyone. He was truly the best surgeon I could have hoped for. He answered all my questions and made me feel totally comfortable with the whole procedure.

My first impression of Dr. Leggett was that he was very down to earth and kind. His office staff is wonderful, if i ever have a question or problem, they always answered me or called me back.
Dr. Leggett only spend about 5 minutes with you your first office visit and gives you homework to bring back on the next visit. Aftercare is very important. Sharla told me today that it takes a "team" to help you lose weight and i'm the main player and they are there for support and help with anything. I feel monthly meeting are a great way to meet new freinds and get all the support you need with whatever worries you. I have yet to have WLS but Dr. Leggett, his staff and Sharla are all wonderful people, never making me feel uneasy in any way and willing to answer all my questions.

I like him from the start. He looked at my chart and medical surgery I had and said that his work would be cut out for him. I'll be a big risk but worth it.

My dr. is not on the list, but he is a very competent, thorough doctor who put me at ease from the moment I met him. His assistant was even more personable.

Office staff was very knowledgable and helped.

Least liked was than he sometimes started answering my questions before I finished asking them, sometimes jumping to conclusions, which I had to ask him to let me finish my questions.

After care was extremely important, as well as preop. He had homework assignments to do, reading, meetings with a dietician, psychologist, pulmonologist, etc. I was very prepared for the surgery.

I would rate him a 9 out of 10.

Surgical competence is extremely important. I would rather feel like I am in good surgical hands.

He does not take much time with you, but I believe he is an excellent surgeon. Everyone in his office is friendly and efficient.
I wish he had more time to spend with each patient, but I feel that he is really good at what he does, is self confident, and serious about informing the patient of all the risks invloved. He clearly explains the procedure, and tells you bluntly that he expects you to be up walking within a few hours of the surgery no matter how much it may hurt.
He does emphasize aftercare as absolutely essential to a successful outcome.
I believe Dr. Leggett is an outstanding surgeon. What he may lack in bedside manner, he makes up for in skill and competence.

My first impression of Dr. Leggett was how fast he was. He came in long enough to say hello and that was it. Didn't really get to talk to him much until the last appointment right before surgery. At first that was a little bothersome but now I realize that he is a very busy man. He is an awesome surgeon. His staff of interns are fabulous! Dr. Chastiney is who I saw after surgery in the hospital and on several office visits and he is wonderful. The office staff are very competent. The are very busy but will take the time to answer all they can. If they can't answer or don't have the time they will call you back. There wasn't anything really that I didn't like about Dr. Leggett. He is very firm about you being educated about the surgery and that gave me a lot of confidence in him. If he feels that you are not fully aware of all the risks of the surgery he will not do it. Dr. Leggett strongly recommends aftercare. I don't miss one appt. Dr. Legget and his interns are top notch when it comes to surgical competence and their bedside manner is great. I would suggest Dr. Leggett to anyone consdering this surgery.
